About Artha and Roger

This lovely home is owned by British comedy magician Jolly Roger and his American wife, Artha (find out more about him - do a Google search - 'Jolly Roger Magician Arizona').

Artha is originally from the East Coast. A computer programmer by profession.

Roger is in the process of completing his second book, 'The Forest of Song.' A book of inspirational poetry.

Artha and Roger purchased this house in 2011

Why Artha and Roger chose Arizona

We have traveled all over the world and found the beauty, serenity and energy of Sedona to be incomparable. Having looked at several other homes in the area prior to purchasing, we knew this was the one as soon as we stepped into the home. The unique style and positive energy - as well as the ideal location - made this the perfect place for us to share.

What makes this house unique

We also own the home next door and visit from Phoenix at every opportunity! We rarely miss the 'free star show' the universe puts on each night as well as seeing the sun's first light hit the red rocks which are right outside our door! Red Rock parking pass also provided.

Couldn't have been better!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect! We loved the house - the architecture and decor is Arizona! The owners have thought of everything - games, information and brochures, Red Rock pass, even laundry detergent!

I've stayed at many other VRBO & this was one of the best.

Beautiful, peaceful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here so much! The house is charming and the views from each window are amazing. The listing description was accurate, and the pictures simply can't do it justice.

l could tell that the owners took a great deal of care to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Every need we could have had was anticipated by Artha and Roger, the owners. Artha greeted us warmly when we arrived, and told us to contact her if we needed anything. They live next door, so any problem we might have had would have been taken care of quickly.

The house was clean, and the bed had the most comfortable mattress I've ever encountered travelling. In the kitchen everything was thoughtfully labeled, so there was no need to hunt through all of the drawers to find what we needed. Extra towels, laundry supplies and toiletries were provided. There was a notebook full of things to do in Sedona, as well as a shelf of well-organized brochures that covered everything from sightseeing tours to menus from the local restaurants (Tara Thai was our pick!) There was even a telescope for us to use to see the night sky, along with directions, but we weren't quite brave enough to touch it.

I loved the decor and spaciousness of the house. The patio and garden are charming, and the whole effect was peacful. My one regret is that we were only there for two nights. I hope to come back for a longer stay soon.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house! Great location! Everything is near by grocery store, restaurants, shopping ,hiking, great views of Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. Artha and Roger live next door and greeted us right away. Great peolpe!! Artha will send you detailed info prior to arrival about the area ( grocery stores, restaurants, points of interest, etc) They have everything here you need and more. Very spacious and you fell right at home. Outdoor setting is relaxing and a very quiet area. We have rented many VRBO homes but this one was above and beyond. Highly recommended this house to rent. We will rent again on our next time here in beautiful Sedona Az.

Thank you Artha and Rogers for sharing your beautiful home with us. We look forward to visiting again.

Cozy and homey

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this inviting home with all the amenities vacationers would want or need. It is centrally located and very close to the vortex trails. The owner supplied parking pass makes it easy to pick and choose which trails and mountains to visit. Artha and Roger were there for any questions or concerns we had during our stay. We spent countless hours on the cozy patio area laughing and eating fantastic food from the grill. We would stay there again and highly recommend it.
