About Artha and Roger

This lovely home is owned by British comedy magician Jolly Roger and his American wife, Artha (find out more about him - do a Google search - 'Jolly Roger Magician Arizona').

Artha is originally from the East Coast. A computer programmer by profession.

Roger is in the process of completing his second book, 'The Forest of Song.' A book of inspirational poetry.

Artha and Roger purchased this house in 2011

Why Artha and Roger chose Arizona

We have traveled all over the world and found the beauty, serenity and energy of Sedona to be incomparable. Having looked at several other homes in the area prior to purchasing, we knew this was the one as soon as we stepped into the home. The unique style and positive energy - as well as the ideal location - made this the perfect place for us to share.

What makes this house unique

We also own the home next door and visit from Phoenix at every opportunity! We rarely miss the 'free star show' the universe puts on each night as well as seeing the sun's first light hit the red rocks which are right outside our door! Red Rock parking pass also provided.

This place was perfect!

It's outside of Sedona but they have a wonderful trail you can walk to, the owners are delightful and the house is spacious and comfortable. The owners were sweet and helpful but did not hover at all. Would highly recommend!!!

A Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We were welcomed on arrival and given a walk through of all of the necessary aspects of the house which was great. The kitchen is well stocked as are the bathrooms. The location is perfect with trails and other facilities within walking distance. The beds are comfortable and roomy.

Highly recommended. We will stay again in the future.

Comfortable and well appointed

  • 4 of 5

We were very happy with our stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and it is easy to find what you need. The two patios are very inviting as a place to eat or just hang out with wine and cheese. Comfortable beds, beautiful view out the front window, a lovely bench to sit on and watch the light play on the red rock formations. Everything combined to make it a very relaxing get together of old college friends. A pass was provided to allow parking at many of the trailheads, that was a nice perk. Close to many local restaurants (literally walking distance) as opposed to the touristy places. Highly recommend.

Relaxing and comfy!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO for a lengthy month long rental. The rental was perfect for our needs and the owners were exceptional. The home was clean, pleasant, and roomy. The owners supplied us with everything we needed and clearly explained various aspects of the home upon our arrival. Additionally, we were supplied with an extensive collection of informational flyers focused on the local attractions, hiking trails, vortex locations, restaurants including former guest's reviews, grocery stores, and more. I was especially grateful for the emails prior to our visit.

The owners greeted us and made us feel at home immediately upon our arrival. When I mentioned that a crock pot would be helpful, they stopped in the next day with a crock pot for us. This was one example of the owner's attention to making our stay special. Throughout the home we became aware of the "little things" that made our stay very comfortable.

Most of our time was spent hiking the many trails in the area. The owners provided us with a parking permit for all Red Rock and detailed information regarding trails. This was greatly appreciated. We took advantage of the Bell Rock Trail Head which was a short walk from the home. Coolers were provided for our use.

The neighborhood was quiet and the home's landscaping created privacy that added to the home's appeal. Restaurants and local shopping were nearby. Each day we were greeted with a breathtaking view.

This vacation is rated one of my favorites. We had a wonderful time exploring the area and enjoying the comforts of this home. I recommend this rental without reservation and I would return in a heartbeat!
