Alden House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Welcome to fabled Torch Lake, heralded by National Geographic as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, “where the rainbow stores its colors” of crystal clear Caribbean aquamarines and sandy bottom. Your vacation hideaway home is idyllic, situated on a slopping green grass bluff with lavish flower beds surrounded on three sides by tall/towering evergreens with expansive views of beautiful Torch Lake. From your elegant and private deck overlooking the private road and lake, drink in the fresh northern air as you sip a morning coffee or perhaps an evening cocktail complete with fabulous lake sunsets.

This modern and private family home has everything you need to make it the perfect home base for any vacation concept. It is spacious and perfect for the multi generational vacation, with something for everyone, even handicap accessible. Just a relaxing five minute stroll to the quaint and picture perfect town of Alden with marvelous shopping, boutiques, dining, tennis and boat launch. Plenty of activities are just a bike ride or walk away; the historic train depot, kids playground and park with lake beaches, hiking trails up Coy Mountain, biking trails on roads or in the woods, river canoeing and many fabulous golf courses including the world class famous Legends, all of it just outside your door. Of course fall and winter brings you opportunities for Michigan’s finest fall color tours, skiing and snowmobiling. Traverse City is a short 25 minutes away for exciting nights on the town, shopping and cultural events, not to mention the gorgeous East and West bays, Lake Michigan and the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas.

The house boasts four bedrooms and three and a half baths. The upper living level houses a great room with high-end home theater and marvelous large window views, separate dining in the three seasons room and on the deck, and a modern kitchen with all the appliances. An office is also present with high speed cable modem. Two master bedrooms are located on this level, each with en-suite facilities and floor to ceiling windows.

Downstairs is a second family area with home theater and large circular dining space served by a dumb waiter, walk out entrance and two of the four bedrooms and bath. It’s a great place for the kids or a second couple to have their own space.

Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and therefor not conducive to large or noisy groups or parties. The speed limit on our road is 15 MPH (enforced by neighbors) making it perfect for walking or biking.

Reserve your dates soon to escape to a very special true Northern Michigan experience.

Best regards, Kevin and Judy

Very nice property!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the home in September, great weather!!! Judy was so nice, helped us with our stay and answered all of our questions!!! The house was very clean and we had everything we needed in the house for our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped with many spices and extras, that you may need, but forgot to pack. Loved the sunroom and sitting out on the deck!!! Very comfortable house and we didn't even use the basement and that was so nice!!! Thank-you Judy for a wonderful stay!!!

Owner's Response: We are happy to have guests who enjoy and appreciate our get-away home as much as we do. We don't rent our home out that often as we try and spend some time in it ourselves but it is heartwarming to know that other families are making fond memories there as well. Judy

Upper Michigan gem

  • 5 of 5

The special attention and care that the owners of this property put into our stay was over the top. It is a large home with lots of space and a great outside deck that gives you a view of Torch Lake. A very quiet and peaceful neighborhood yet an easy walk or bike into the charming town of Alden. We loved having it as our home base to explore around the region, it was a perfect location for our trip. It is not far from Traverse City if you want a bit more action, yet the town of Alden had its own weekly farmers market if you wanted something close by. Loved the yarn shop in town!

The property was clean and the owners were gracious and warm. I look forward to staying in touch.

Annual Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Every year we rent a house on a Michigan lake for our children and grandchildren and this house worked well, especially since the weather wasn't the best and we needed to entertain them indoors. We visited the Alden train depot and its model railway club one day and the various stores on another day. A neighbor let the kids use their beach and the water was very shallow. Our day trip to Charlevoix was a special treat.

Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time in the home. We enjoyed the ability to walk into Alden to visit the Depot and get ice cream at Higgins. The neighbors were very friendly and helped make us feel welcome. The house is beautiful with separate spaces upstairs and downstairs for everyone to hang out, play games or just read a book. Judy was great to work with and kept in touch to be sure we were well taken care of.

Owner's Response: These guests spent a month at our home and felt like we had family staying there when we couldn't. I agree with them, the location is close to so many great destinations.

A beautiful way to get away for a while.

We fell in love with your vacation home from the pictures and hoped that they were a real depiction of the place. We were not disappointed. The home was lovely and spotless and had everything that you'd ever need to have a wonderful vacation. We had 3 girls who rode the bikes into town every day and played games in the four seasons room on rainy days. We we shopped in Alden and Bellaire and Charlevoix. We went to several good restaurants around the lake. We rented a boat and the girls went tubing and we even got to watch the Tigers on your big screen TV. Everyone was happy because there were so many options. We had all of our meals on the outside deck where we grilled and there was plenty of both sun and shade . Most days there was a nice breeze and, of course, the gorgeous lake to look at. We loved the park like landscaping and the all over beauty and serenity of the place. Everyone gave us a friendly wave as we drove in and out on the street. We ate at Dockside , the Torch Riviera, the Wild Onion , and The Alden Bar. We had giant ice cream cones at the little store in Alden. I also bought a couple of winning lotto tickets there. We replenished our spices from the Spice Mill and bought smoked fresh fish from the smokehouse in Bellaire. The entire week seemed almost magical to us and we would highly reommend it to our friends . We left reluctently with great memories and feeling very relaxed.

What a week!

  • 5 of 5

Accommodations were wonderful. The place was comfortable and much larger than we expected. Lots of room to relax and it was an easy walk to Alden or to the house being rented by our family members. And the lake was beautiful, even on the one day it rained. Thank you for your hospitality. It was a week we'll never forget!
