Get away to 130+ feet of beautiful private frontage on N. Lake Leelanau! The Bunek Cottage sits on a large lot with plenty of room for outdoor yard games and swimming by day, and campfires by night. The 3 bedroom, 1 bath get away is furnished, except for sheets, towels and paper products. The queen bed master is private, while the two double bed rooms are connected by a curtain doorway. It has a recently remodeled kitchen, two glass/screened in porches, and a modest sized deck for dining outside. The lake is shallow and sandy, perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. Let the breeze and small waves lull you to sleep at night after fun filled days in Beautiful Leelanau County! Don't miss the shops, wineries, beaches, festivals and more that make this region such a special place to be!

Thanks to the Bunek Cottage for a wonderful summer family week! The kids had a blast in the lake, playing games in the yard, fixing the puzzles, and reading books! We enjoyed traveling to Leland, Northport, and Suttons Bay and having our quiet place to come back to right in the middle! We hope to be back next summer!
A group of us have stayed here for the past 10 years and it doesn't get any better! Beautiful view of the lake, very comfortable cabin and a very clean. If you want to relax, this is the place to be.
We had a great time at this cottage fishing, golfing, and touring the area which is very easy to do because of the great location. The cottage is very clean with a nice layout. The property has a spectacular view of Lake Leelanau and we enjoyed wonderful sunsets that then lead into good times by the campfire. This cottage is a gem worth renting
This is our 12th year renting this cottage, we look forward to our week every year.
Great location by land or water with close proximity to the beautiful town of Lake Leelanau. The fishing is great, but when the weather is bad we can go into Lake Leelanau or one of the other close communities for wine tasting, dining or shopping in the many unique specialty shops.
Lake Leelanau is amazing for swimming with it's perfect white sandy bottom. Since it's a hike to get into deep water it's great for throwing a frisbee or letting your kids safely enjoy the lake. Or bring your boat and motor out to the sand bar that's also very close to the cottage.
Sunsets are amazing every night, especially with a nice campfire down by the water.
The owners have taken great care in making us comfortable every year, last few years adding an outdoor shower and air conditioning.
We have our calendar marked to return for our 13th week at "the cottage" next year.
The locations of this cottage is excellent. Very close to wineries and the town of Lake Leelanau. The property wasn't too far from Manitau Passage golf club or sleeping bear dunes. I would defiantly rent this cottage again. The cottage is beautiful with a nice piece of lake front property. The lakefront is all sandy bottom and you can walk out past 100 yards in the lake and it's only up to your waist. North Lake Leelanau also connects with South Lake Leelanau via the narrows. The cottage is fully stocked with pots and pans and everything you need to cook with. The cottage was also spotlessly cleaned when we arrived. We were very impressed. We had a fantastic week in Lake Leelanau and we can't wait to return. I want to thank the owner for sharing their cottage with us.
My wife and I spent a week at this beautiful and private cottage with another couple. It is located on the best spot on north lake leelanau, with a beautiful and clean sanbar about 100 feet from the end of the dock. The water was very warm and clean, a great place for kids to swim.
Not a lot of boat traffic because the cottage is located in a small bay, but a perfect location to watch the boats exiting and entering the narrows and a breathtaking view of the lake. It is also located in Lake Leelanau right smack in the middle of Leland and Suttons bay and only about 20 minutes from Glen Arbor and the famous Sand Dunes. It is located close enough to town that you could ride a bike or even walk to grab lunch, rent a pontoon, or just get an ice cream or coffee (I would say about a mile walk?)
We drove to Suttons Bay and road our bikes on the rails to trails right on Grand Travers Bay (beautiful views) and had lunch at Boones (one of the local restaurants)
We had a few campfires by the lake and roasted hot dogs and marchmallows.
We played cards on the front porch and chess on the back porch.
We went to half a dozen wineries.
We spent a day at the Sand Dunes. Hiked to the back of the dunes!
We cooked a lot of our own meals-mostly grilled (they have a nice fully stocked kitchen as well!)
We drove into Traverse City (20minutes) and ate diner at North Peak, a great microbrewery with live music! (they also own Grizzly Peak in Ann Arbor).
Relaxed by the lake and played a little horse shoes, basically just hung out!
We spend a whole morning in Leland. First we went to breakfast at the Early Bird. Spent that morning shopping and walking the boat docks then grabbed lunch right over the damn connecting Lake leelanau to Lake Michigan at The Cove.
There is no TV, but that is one of the things I love. Only one bathroom, but this was not a problem.
Sure seems like we had a crazy week with all we did, but felt like we didn't have a care in the world and got TONS of sleep. It was very clean, and the owners only live a few miles away and were super helpful and friendly!
We definently plan to stay again!
