Exceeded all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Our family decided to spend Thanksgiving in the north GA mountains and I am so glad we did! We had folks traveling from out of state, flying in and out of ATL, and others driving from within the state. The Blue Horizon Lodge was very accessible for all.

Before we settled on this particular property, I messaged Neysa Lee, who is one of the owners, to ask about some particulars. Right from the start, she was quick to respond, very friendly and helpful. I quickly became comfortable with the choice to rent her property. The deposits, rental agreement and instructions were very clear and Neysa is very organized.

The property itself is nothing short of spectacular. The views from the prowfront windows and the decks were absolutely beautiful and the architecture highlights the scenery beautifully. There is a lovely sitting area outside of the front door with a little brook and a very comfortable fire pit area not far from there in the side yard. A bocce court was under construction.

The great room on the main level is very comfortable and spills efficiently into the kitchen and dining areas and out on to the huge wrap around deck. The views are spectacular and the furnishings cozy and comfortable.

There are three exceptionally well appointed master suites with luxury amenities and beautiful views. The owners clearly have a gift for hospitality, as we were surprised by many personal touches throughout the property. The lower floor had a great area for our high school and college aged members of the group, who enjoyed the accomodations, including their own private area for playing video games in the media chairs.

Of course for Thanksgiving dinner, I saved the best for last: my sister-in-law is a very accomplished cook, so the kitchen is very important to her. The lodge kitchen is very well planned, has plenty of space for "helpers" to work and sported double ovens, a warming drawer, a gas cooktop, and much more. The ultimate compliment came from the cook - she wanted to bring the kitchen home with her!

As for the rest of us, we all enjoyed the beautiful dining table with its panoramic windows and views: a gorgeous place to enjoy a great meal and reflect on much for which to be thankful.

I cannot say enough about the location, accomodations, views, and hospitality associated with the Lodge. If schedules would permit, all involved would love to make this an annual trip. We are already scheming about when we can return!

Fantastic Fun With Friends

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed returning to this fantastic getaway with several couples and friends. A lodge nestled in the mountains overlooking beautiful Lake Blue Ridge, this is a great place to relax with plenty of things to explore within a short drive. If you're looking for a comfortable, clean, amazingly beautiful decorated mountain escape, you need look no further. Check out the photos as they show the beauty that can't be described. Master suite bedrooms were so unique and the bathrooms featured granite countertops, separate jacuzzi tub and shower. Heated floors added to the luxury and were a favorite of ours! All were beautifully decorated and extremely clean! The guys loved watching football games downstairs relaxing in the 4 leather recliners. The girls even enjoyed watching the game on the other TV that was downstairs too! The welll-equipped kitchen was appreciated as we had several meals there. There were also great restaurants nearby. The balconies on every level have the most picturesque views of the lake and mountains. We will definitely return again to this wonderful rental lodge!

Amazing Retreat for Fun and Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Three couples recently enjoyed a fabulous weekend in this exquisite home. The setting is breathtaking, and we enjoyed sitting on the deck sipping coffee while watching the fog roll in over the lake. The house is incredible; it has every amenity and luxury that one would find at a five star resort. From the pillowtop matresses and fine linens to the well-stocked kitchen to the many entertainment options available in the house, it was a perfect escape for a relaxing weekend. Three master bedrooms gave each couple very private spaces, and if more had joined us, we would have still felt private and pampered due to the fact that the fourth bedroom is on the terrace level. Full size TV's, darts, card table, ping pong table, and a jacuzzi provide many opportunities for fun and entertainment on this level. While the men played golf at nearby Brasstown Valley Resort, the ladies enjoyed a trip into Blue Ridge where we ate a delicious lunch, wandered through a fun festival, and shopped at quaint little one-of-a-kind stores. It was a delightful weekend, and one that we will be sure to repeat in the future. Thank you to the owners of this home for providing such an amazing retreat.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your experience at the Blue Horizon Lodge. Our goal is to always exceed our guests’ expectations in every aspect of their stay. While there is very little we can do to improve the majestic mountain and lake vistas from the property or the grandeur of the adjacent National Forest, we do strive to make certain that our attention to each detail in the accommodations and service we offer culminates in a unique and luxurious respite for our guests. The Lodge offers the opportunity to make lasting memories for families and friends, and we are excited that you plan to visit us again in the near future. The highest compliment our guests can give us is to choose to spend more time at the Blue Horizon Lodge! Thank you for making the Lodge your retreat on Lake Blue Ridge.

Fall Escape

  • 5 of 5

Wow!! I can't begin to say enough about this wonderful mountain paradise! Everything is first class and even more amazing than the pictures show! This is by far the most beautiful and immaculate house we've ever stayed in and was furnished exquisively! The views from every room of Blue Ridge Lake were breath taking! We stayed with some great friends and enjoyed cooking in the wonderfully designed kitchen that was supplied with everything you would ever need and more! We had a good time time exploring all the towns around as the house was in a great location. Be ready to be spoiled with all the extras in the bedrooms, bathrooms, den, game room, hot tub and more! The porches were great to enjoy all the wonderful fall scenery. Please read about all the special details of each room as the furniture is perfectly suited. I could go on and on about all the amenities as this little piece of heaven needs to be featured in a magazine! Great place and great stay!!

Summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

Just a quick note about our recent stay at Blue Horizon. It was truly an awesome weekend!. The accomodations exceeded our expectations! The house is brilliantly positioned on the mountain with argueably the BEST view of the lake and the mountains surrounding it. My wife loves to cook and she truly enoyed the opportunity to prepare our favorite dishes in the spacious well stocked kitchen. Just like the kitchen the remainder of the house's accomodations were superb-furnished perfectly! All the bedroom suites and baths were lavishly decorated and spotless. It is obvious that the owners have thought of everything. From the early morning coffee on the deck to the cookout at the lake pavillion- this house has it all.

Upon exploring the local area, we discovered a world of things to do. We fell in lovewith the quant little town of Morganton, where one night we ate dinner at a great little family owned Italian restaurnant (highly recommend). We even ventured into Blue Ridge to the local farmers market and had a blast.

We were sorry to see our time come to an end and it was hard to leave, but we have already talked about booking the house again next year and we hopefully will make it back this fall for the "changing of the leaves"

Definitely 5 stars all around!
