2300 square foot cedar cabin. Centrally located to access Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or the Townsend/Cades Cove areas.
My favorite part of our location is that we are close to anything in the area, almost centrally located. But once you leave Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg to head to the cabin, the heavy traffic ceases and you leave that behind for the peace and beauty of the mountains, all in the matter of just 10 minutes. You get the best of both worlds.
We have tried to make this cabin enjoyable for all ages. Kids can play in the game room and the adults enjoy conversation, games, or TV in the den above. Swing, rock, or eat outside on one of the four decks. Read a book on the main deck while swinging or just relaxing and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors.
Cabin has 3 levels, one bedroom/bath each level.
Kitchen/den/dining on main level with master bedroom. Master bedroom has kingsize bed and its own bath, along with a separate Jacuzzi tub.
The lower level has a large Game room with pool table, air hockey, 42 inch TV, video arcade game and darts, with separate bedroom/bath with 2 queen beds. The couch in game room is a sofa sleeper. Off the game room is a private deck and hot tub.
The upper level has a bedroom with queen bed, bath, deck, and extra room with TV and sofa sleeper. We enjoy sitting on the front decks and viewing the other cabins and the lights at night, or sitting on the back decks (or in hottub) and being at peace with nature.
Each level has a deck with the main level having a deck which wraps around two sides and a separate deck off the master bedroom in front. There is also a Jacuzzi in the master bedroom.
The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could want, glass top range with oven timer if you want to cook while enjoying the area.
At times our children and guests are content to just enjoy the cabin and never do the tourist stuff, and at times they spend all day in nature, shopping, or enjoying Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

I am a Mental Health Counselor and my wife is in accounting. We live in Mississippi but both parents live in Tennessee, just on opposite ends of the state. We have three children, two married and on their own, and one just starting college. Our youngest son has 'grown up' with the cabin, while our other two were already finishing high school or in college, so they are just now beginning to experience the cabin with their families.
Brian Galloway purchased this cabin in 2005
One of our parents live in East Tennessee, so we began visiting the Gatlinburg area when we came to see them and fell in love with the area. I especially like Wears Valley because it is close to the bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but has the tranquility of the mountains. There seems to be endless diversity to what you can do there. We bought the cabin so we could have a place to come and relax when we wanted to get away for a few days.
The cabin is peaceful and relaxing to me. I have all the luxuries of home (and a few more). Can watch TV, surf the internet, quietly read, or play games. One of the high lights of our year is going to the cabin in late October, early November with two couples who are retired and dear friends of ours. We play cards, decorate for Christmas, and are able to get away from our normal lives.
The cabin is large enough to invite others to come with us, but small enough for just the two of us, if that's what we want.
We started out with 8 going to the mountains and ended up with 12. The cabin slept 12 so we said, OK. Granted, 12 is capacity, but it worked much better than we expected. All the adults had private rooms to sleep in. We shared the three bathrooms, but that was ok. The cabin was clean and it was raining but it was dry and cozy inside. We had plenty of room to work puzzles, play games, eat and work together without bumping into each other. Loved the Cabin and we will return. Five stars!!
House had plenty of open space...enough for large family. Although the house was very nice the cleaning needed improvement. Dust, cobwebs, spider webs with spiders (alive) in them and food under the couch in the main living room needed attention. This home has 3 bathrooms and they were also nice but again bottom floor bathroom and 3rd floor bathroom needs a heavy cleaning. Toilets in all three bedrooms were loose, master bath was the worst. With a cleaning deposit paid I would have thought it would be cleaner. I did however have to clean some because my daughter is terrified of spiders.
We very much enjoyed our stay there but because of the roads going to the cabin being so narrow we had to shorting our time for activities away from the house in order to get back before dark so I would not stay so far up again.
Most of the view was hidden by the trees but you could see some mountains. There was a bear seen there just the day before we arrived and was warned as we arrived. Heard the bear Sunday morning close to the home but did not see it.
This is an awesome home...porches were great...it was comfortable. Kids would love the bottom floor with the game room and you can sleep 4 downstairs.
A little work on the bathrooms and a good cleaning and it would be perfect as long as you don't mind the roads. They did get easier with each trip we made out.
The only thing I didn't like was that the main floor only had one bathroom and it was in the master bedroom....but I loved the house.
I give this cabin a 10 plus.
We stayed at this cabin for our family vacation this year. With our children and grandchildren (4 adults and 5 children) we had plenty of room! Very well equipped with everything thing you would need away from home. We would definitely recommend this cabin!
We loved the layout of this cabin. Very spacious. We had 14 people (5 children & 9 adults) and we never felt crowded. There were several decks & plenty of seating on the decks. Even though it was a very hot weekend, it was very pleasant sitting on the deck. The kids loved the game room. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, silverware, pots & pans, cooking utensils and plenty of extras. The only reason I didn't give this cabin a 5 star was due to a few housekeeping issues.
We had 3 families staying at the cabin and it was wonderful. The kids loved the game room and the adults spent most of our time on the main deck talking and playing the abundant board games that the cabin had to offer. We never felt cramped or in each other's way. We spent our days out hiking or in the mountains and the evenings at the cabin. The housekeeping was not on par, but that was not the fault of the homeowner. The home owner was quick to answer our many questions prior to our stay and even when arriving at the cabin he was quick to respond to our request/questions. The cabin's kitchen had almost any item you needed and there was lots of cabinet space to store our food. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I, sons and grandson took our first vacation together since 1987. We had a great time! The cabin had a lot of room and we enjoyed the arcade, air hockey, pool table and hot tub. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the porch swing while watching the sun come up. There are multiple balconies and the back balconies are very private. Walk to the top of the driveway and you will find an amazing view of Wear Valley. The master suite is roomy and the king bed is very comfortable. The loft has a comfortable bed, nice balcony and an extra room with TV and sleeper couch. The lower level has nice queen beds, a bathroom and access to the game room and balcony with the hot tub. The decor is charming with black Smokey bears and log furniture throughout. The kitchen has all the conveniences of home. Staying in the cabin gives you a true experience of living in the mountains. A quick drive into Pigeon Forge and we enjoyed Dollywood, The Track race cars and bumper boats, the Dixie Stampede, The Wonder Works Museum, A magic show at the Opry House, the Wheel, the Rope Course at the Island, The Hard Rock Cafe and oh... the shopping! For great prices on quilts, go to Lil' Dolly Factory Outlet. If you like homemade apple butters, preserves, and syrups, then don't miss the Apple Barn General Store and Cider Mill. The Maple Praline syrup is too good and the food served was delicious! We went into Gatlingburg and went through the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum (a favorite), participated in free moonshine tasting, enjoyed the live entertainment, and shopped till we dropped. Brian, the owner, was very nice and responded to calls and questions promptly. This is my third vacation rental booked through HomeAway.com and they make it an easy process. If you plan on coming to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlingburg, I would recommend this vacation rental for a beautiful mountain cabin experience in the Smokey's.
In area: caves, Cades Cove, 15 miles from Gatlinburg. 5 miles from Pideon Forge/Sevierville with shows, shopping, and various entertainment. Horseback riding within 5 miles. Much hiking in area. Innertubing 7 miles away in Townsend. Close to the hustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with the peace and quiet of the mountains.
