Waikiki Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condominium, Studio Apartment

Aloha E Komo Mai! Hello and Welcome to the Waikiki Shore, the only beachfront condominium on Waikiki Beach. Recently remodeled Studio 1404 is the highest and closest to the beach of all the building studio units. Enjoy amazing Diamond Head and Ocean views from inside the apartment and out on the balcony, as well as incredible beach, city and mountain views.

See our listing for 1315 if 1404 is booked. 1315 was just remodeled and it is spectacular!

Waikiki Beach is one of the greatest beaches in the world, and though not widely known, it is made up of many smaller, named beaches. One of them, Duke Kahanamoku Beach, which is seen in its entirety from the balcony, has been named as the #2 beach (again!) in America for 2013, according to Dr. Stephen Leatherman's (aka 'Dr. Beach') annual list. Duke Kahanamoku Beach, which fronts the Hilton Hawaiian Village and reaches out to the Waikiki Shore, made this year's list for the fourth consecutive year.

Descend the Waikiki Shore stairs to the beach and in thirty paces, you have reached the Pacific Ocean. Store your surfboard on site and paddle directly out to 'Threes' surf break, made famous in the movie 'Endless Summer.' Swim, snorkel, relax. Fort DeRussy Park and the military hotel, Hale Koa, are right next door. First class shopping, dining, and sightseeing are around the corner.

Your 14th floor lanai serves as private box seats to the Pacific Ocean, breathtaking sunsets, and Friday Night Fireworks.

About Steve Geilfuss

We (Steve & Chris) came to Oahu for a visit in 1988 and couldn't imagine raising a family anywhere else. When you live in Paradise 365 days a year, where do you go to get away? Waikiki.

Steve Geilfuss purchased this condo in 2012

Why Steve Geilfuss chose Oahu

Waikiki Shore is a special building, unique in its location, size, and amenities; it's a perfect balance of solitude, beach and activity.

What makes this condo unique

We can go from an ocean paddle to a Michelin starred restaurant in minutes. Soft jazz in a first-class lounge and a wild-and-crazy sports bar are both around the corner. Friday night fireworks cap off pau hana and mark the start of the weekend for locals and tourists alike. Waikiki is a multi-cultural mix of people, food, and opportunities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Aloha and Mahalo! For the past three years Chris and I have enjoyed welcoming guests from across the globe into our two studio apartments at the Waikiki Shore. We are blessed to have met, without exception, gracious and wonderful people. Your reviews of these apartments are vitally important to us, helping grow that group of new friends by providing an honest perspective of your Waikiki Shore experiences. Mahalo for your kind and helpful reviews. We sincerely appreciate your time, and look forward to your return.

Location, location, location!

Kind of the best of all worlds here! Beach within steps. Starbucks downstairs. Endless restaurant choices & shops within 2 blocks. We were worried after a chill week in Maui that it would be too busy in Honolulu, however the fantastic view from the lanai of this condo is the perfect spot for breakfast mimosas or drinks in the evening. Hardly knew we were in a city! But, we also were able to slip out and enjoy some fabulous shops & great restaurants! The condo is well stocked and has everything you'll need for a perfect stay including a comfy bed, beach chairs and an umbrella. We LOVED that you could see the turtles in the water from the balcony. Made some fantastic memories being able to just walk out to the beach mere steps away and swim with turtles!! TURTLES!! That swim around with YOU!!! :) There are also lots of tours/activities that leave from near here. We spent 3 days here and did not need a car. The owner & his agent were helpful & lovely to deal with.

Simply a fantastic view you will never tire of with every thing else you could want/need within blocks! Would most definitely love to stay here again!

Great vacation accomodation

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in Ikena Nui. As the first time, the condo was just about perfect: it had everything we needed including beach chairs, beach umbrella and even a large rain umbrella. Everything was neat and tidy, all appliances in good working order. We recommended this condo to our friends; they stayed there last year and were happy with it as well.

Thank you Chris and Steve. Hope to come again next year.

Here we are--AGAIN!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as I decided to bring my husband to Waikiki for his birthday I checked to see if the 'Ikena Nui" was available. When the answer was "yes", I just knew we would have another perfect stay.

The studio is well stocked and everything is neat and tidy. This was our first Waikiki visit where it RAINED very heavily for 2 days. No problem--there was a nice big umbrella hanging in the closet.

When it was warm and sunny we grabbed the beach chairs and beach towels and spent time on the beach. The shower right inside the security gate is great. No need to take the beach sand into the elevator or apartment.

Yes, the view is awesome and so nice for breakfast on the lanai and the Friday night fireworks.

Love the keyless entry system and having a safe in the unit.

We'll be back for our 50th anniversary. The first thing I'll do is see if #1404 is available.

Great location, awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

My husband stayed here to start off our honeymoon this September. After looking for a place on Waikiki beach we are SO happy we found your property! The location was amazing, walking right out the front door to enjoy the beach. The view from the balcony was also breathtaking. The condo had everything we needed! And the biggest plus - Steve and Chris were so helpful and great to work with while booking, evening meeting as at the airport with our passkey! It couldn't have been any smoother and was a great welcome to Hawaii!! I can't say enough positive things about our stay or this property. If (and hopefully when) we return to Oahu we will definitely stay here again! Mahalo for the great time!

Perfect in Waikiki

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at 1404 Waikiki Shore was everything we expected. Steve and Chris were very thorough in their instructions (for payment, amenities, transportation, tips in the neighborhood, arrival and departure). The pictures of their place are spot on - great views of the beach from the balcony, and even great views from the front door coming in. It was clean, very well kept and we even had a nice welcome snack. They were a pleasure to work with, and I would definitely stay here again when we return to Honolulu. This was a great end to our 2 week, 3 island trip.

We enjoyed the beach (and sea turtles, visible even from the balcony), a maita'i sail, and a day to drive to the North shore, which was a nice way to get away from the business of the Waikiki area.

Thanks you Steve and Chris.

Fantastic Condo!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a super condo with incredible views!! I hated to leave the room it was so nice. And the owner, Steve, has thought of just about everything a traveler could need: local maps, brochures on local hot spots, places to eat, etc. neatly organized into notebooks. And the room itself is super clean, and stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The AC was more than adequate (something I was a little worried about), although you may have to turn it up just a little to cool the bathroom (the bathroom is on the opposite end of the condo from the AC unit). And I must also say that the mattress/bed was very comfortable and facilitated very restful sleep. The condo is so nice I hate to even mention the small issues, but for those who may want to know I feel like I should:

1) For those who are sensitive to noise, take note that the elevator shaft is just on the other side of the wall from the condo. Consequently, the elevator can be heard when moving up and down the shaft - makes a noise similar to ice cubes dropping into a plastic ice bucket. At first, I thought it was just an ice machine outside making the noise. (BTW this wasn't an issue for me, but others may want to know).

2) Although photos in ad show a chest of drawers (or maybe it was a dresser?) under the TV, there is not one in the condo. So, there is not a good place to store certain items like socks, t-shirts, underwear, and other incidentals. So, you may have to leave those type items in your suitcase (like I did).

So, let me say again, this is a very nice place to stay. If I ever get to return to Hawaii, I would not hesitate to book this unit again. Aloha!
