Our Family chose to buy a place in Pine as it is super family friendly. Its is close to Phoenix, you do not have to drive for hours to get to the mountians.
Best view in Pine... Full Log Cabin...
The home was fantastic and the owner was such a pleasure to work with. She made everything so seamless. The home was very clean and completely stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. We were very impressed and can't wait to book again!!
We just stayed in the cabin this past weekend and I can't stop thinking about how soon we can go back! There were four in our group (two couples, late 20s and early 30s). The views in the cabin were great! We kepts the windows open all night and heard Elk calls!
Saturday began with coffee on the upper balcony and a view of trees and mountains that looked like it was printed from a postcard. We hiked in search of geocaches and scenery and were not disappointed! Then we headed up to the Fossil Creek Creamery where we loaded up on delicious fudge and some fig goat cheese for our dinner later in the evening.
The drive back to the cabin was beautiful - we made a point to stop at an antique shop along the way! Excellent prices, service, and selection! We then headed to a local festival, fished at Woods Canyon Lake, and made it home to grill steaks, play cards, and enjoy the fire pit (and s'mores, of course) behind the cabin.
Lisa has stocked the home with everything you will need! While we had packed all of our supplies, it was nice to see a selection of commonly forgotten items available, if needed. There was toothpaste, cleaning supplies, coffee and tea, and even toys, games, and equipment in the basement! There is also a great hammock stand that we wish we had time to use!
The only thing I would change about our weekend is the length of time we stayed- if only it could be longer! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us and other travelers to come.
WE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE GREAT STAY WHEN WE PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AND 3 DEER WERE WAITING FOR US TO ARRIVE AND FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS THEY AND ABOUT 5 DEER TOURED THE PROPERTY SEVERAL TIME A DAY ALONG WITH RABBITS AND SQURRELS........AND LOTS OF BLUE JAYS WHO KEPT STEALING THE NUTS WE THREW TO THE SQUIRRELS.......BUT THE DEER ALSO KEPT EATING THE CARROTS FOR THE RABBITS........
THE PROPERTY IS SO CLOSE TO FOREST SERVICE LAND YOU FEEL MILES AWAY FROM TOWN WHICH IS STILL ONLY A TEN MINUTE DRIVE AWAY ; WE NEVER USED THE BEAUTIFUL FIREPLACE BUT ITS THERE ; COMFEY BEDS, NICE KITCHEN, AND A DECK OFF THE MASTER BEDROOM THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS YOU ARE AT TREE TOP LEVEL SO THE VIEWS ARE WORTH THE STAY ALONE. THERE ARE NEICHBORS FAILY CLOSE BUT ON THE TOP DECK YOU ONLY SEE ROOFS AND TREES AND THE RIM ALL AROUND YOU...ITS A BIT RUSTIC BUT ITS A LOG CABIN IN THE WOODS.....
This home and all it has to offer was perfect for our family! We walked to the National Forest just around the corner and hiked and geocached, we enjoyed the Fossil Creek Creamery, the Honey Stand, local museums and shops, played pool every afternoon, hiked and geocached from the nearby Pine Trailhead and along FR 300. We grilled dinner on the deck in the evenings and watched the sky for shooting stars. What a fabulous home, our teen son and his friend were never bored and want to return! The nearby Ponderosa Market has a great bakery and was so convenient for those few items we wanted to pick up. Highly recommend!
This house was absolutely perfect. It's tucked away closer to the national forest so you really think you're out in the middle of the woods. As you can see, the views are amazing and the cabin overall was perfect. Highly recommended.
I went with my boyfriend and my two girls who are 8 and 5. The area is beautiful and so peaceful! We stayed in the bedroom upstairs and the girls slept in sleeping bags in the loft and loved it, they felt like they were camping! We were able to enjoy S'mores out on the deck with the fire pit. We would like to go back again sometime soon and explore more of the area!
Close to the Tonto Natrual Bridge and Fossil Creek. Visit either of their websites for more information. While at Fossil Creek you can check out the Fossil Creek Farm featured in the Arizona Republic on July 16, 2012.
