This is a great value! This is a whole house available that includes 2 floors with Two separate apartments. We rent these spaces separately, but have recently extended rentals to accommodate large parties. Please only respond to this listing if you are interested in the whole house. For renting the properties separately, click on the links below. This house is only 3 blocks from the 39th Ave Subway stop on the N and Q yellow line which takes you into Midtown Manhattan in 7 minutes (2 subway stops). This 2- story house was built around 1873 and it is one of the oldest brick houses in Dutch Kills. There is a large vegetable and herb garden behind this apartment where you are free to BBQ and relax and pick some weeds if your sightseeing schedule allows it.

Private 3 Bedroom Garden Apartment, 1 Bath, Stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, Ductless AC/Heat Climate control. A perfect combination of Modern and rustic design on the 1st floor (Garden Level) of a 2 family townhouse. Apartment was completely gut renovated November 2012 with a brand new kitchen and bathroom. Comes complete with all kitchenware, linens, towels, iron, coffee maker,hairdryer, flat screen cable TV, and WiFi. Sofa in living room folds out to a double bed. There is a queen bed in one bedroom and double (full) beds in the 2 other private bedrooms.

Second floor apartment:

Recently renovated, this spacious apartment has all the amenities you will need to spend a pleasant time in NYC. The apartment has 4 private bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. We just added a second bathroom, making it easier for large groups to get ready and on the go in no time :) The kitchen is fitted with a large counter and 6 bar stools. There is a dishwasher, microwave and toaster in the kitchen. You can use the washer and dryer in the basement and you are also more then welcome to use the backyard were there is Smoker & BBQ grill at your disposal.

Authentic Brooklyn house and neighborhood

The main complaint we had with our stay was that we were VERY inconvenienced in that one of the CONNECTING apartments that was promised to us was occupied and wouldn't be available till the next night. Half of our group was forced to stay down the street from the rest of us. This was very inconvenient as we were cooking meals together and were supervising our group of Girl Scouts.

Also, there were a few maintenance issues that need to be resolved. The AC in the upper apartment wasn't working well. The door leading down to the basement in the lower apartment was not secure (pretty much anyone could have gone into the basement and then come up the stairs into the apartment we were staying in.

Another suggestion would be to add more mirrors for guests to use.

Great Stay

We rented both apartments because the size of our party. The entire party loved the place. The downstairs apartment had 3 good size bedrooms. The downstairs bathroom was perfect for my mother who needed a walk-in shower instead of a tub/ shower. The upstairs apartment had 4 good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both apartments were clean and comfortable. The subway stop was close by as well as two restaurants and a small grocery store, which we frequently visited. I would recommend the Garden House!

Great host and neighborhood!

This was my first time in New York City and I couldn't have experienced it any better than staying here at this beautiful home with the wonderful host of Steffan and his daughter Byanca. The house was really nice, comfortable, and well furnished. I had a party of 8 with me and we all had plenty of room and space. Everything was well providesd when we arrived and if we needed anything communication was never a problem. The neighborhood was really quiet and very friendly. Byanca was really informative and recommended alot of good restaurants and places to visit in walking distance. The subway was only a couple blocks down the street so getting to Manhattan was quite convient. Overall we had a great time and when I come back to New York I will definitely consider staying here again. Thank you again for your awesome hospitality!

Our house had rats!

Our group of 14 knew that it would be challenging to find just the right house for us all to stay together in NYC. We planned this trip together for six months. We finally chose this property months ahead and paid on time in full to stay together in this home, with two convenient floors, each complete with a kitchen and bathroom. Strangely, when we arrived, the second floor was undergoing a complete remodel, was completely gutted, and the manager Thaigo explained our group had to be separated, and half of us were housed in a rundown home nearby. This home was clearly was not ready for visitors, and certainly not the quality we paid for, but Thiago did have a cleaning lady come. So we decided to ignore the taped up ceiling downstairs and the huge stain on the bedroom floor upstairs and make the best of it. The first night there, rats stole four bagels and half an avocado off the kitchen countertop. They left their teeth marks in the other half of the avocado which is why we know it was rats. I have pictures. Steffan was completely absent, made no effort to touch base but Thaigo scrambled again and offered the rat house half of our group yet another place two subway stops away. So much for our well planned adventure together. In the first floor of the original house, no doubt because of the hasty attempt to get it ready for us, ( again, we rented it months in advance for these dates) a TV was not properly secured to its base and fell when we touched it. This unfortunate mishap was apparently why Steffan chose to refund a fraction of our thousands we paid, even though half the home we rented was uninhabitable when we arrived. Even the first floor, while liveable, had constant issues because of the upstairs remodel, such as breakers getting thrown so that only limited outlets worked, and a recurring problem with the hot water heater going out. If Steffan would have just worked with us on a reasonable refund, this review would not be taking place. I actually have never before left a negative review. Even the day we left, the second floor was still not complete. Steffan has several properties in the Astoria area, one of which has rats. Also Homeaway has a policy to not get involved in disputes, so since the traveler has already paid money, it is entirely up to the property owner what they decide to refund if you have a problem. Homeaway will NOT support you, even with picture documentation.

TOP rapport qualité prix idéal pour groupe

Maison avec 2 appartements a la fois indépendants et communs,

nous étions 6 adultes au RDC et 7 jeunes adultes à l'étage et ce fut parfait.

Le quartier est calme la maison à égale distance de 3 lignes de métros moins de 10min à pieds ce qui est rare et confortable pour visiter New York.

Accès très facile de JFK en air train et métro, ce qui évite les navettes pas plus rapides mais plus chères.

Les propriétaires sont très réactifs et répondent très rapidement aux demandes.

Lorsque nous retournerons en groupe à NY, nous reprendrons cette location sans hésitation.

Nous étions 10 : 3 couples et 4 célibataires. Chacun disposait d'une chambre. Les pièces communes sont suffisamment grandes et très accueillantes.

Situé à proximité de plusieurs stations de métro, elles mêmes très proches de Manhattan, dans une rue calme.

Nous avons eu un tout petit problème d'eau chaude, celui-ci a été réglé très rapidement, même si nous étions le 31/12 à 18h passées.

A chacune de mes demandes par mail, j'ai eu un retour très rapide et très satisfaisant.

Bref..... si nous sommes à nouveau nombreux, c'est ici que nous reviendrons.

Nous vous le recommandons vivement !!!
