About CARMEN

MADRID is the place to be!!!! I am a world traveler who prefers to stay at vacation rental properties because there is nothing more than having a place you can call home. What better way to soak up the local culture than to feel a part of the neighborhood? This is what I extend to my guests when they stay at my place. For those who want to be more than just a tourist passing by, you will find living in LATINA PALACE and LATINA SOL an experience you will never forget.

CARMEN purchased this apartment in 2008

Why CARMEN chose Madrid City

It is a unique property from 1749 fully refurnished on an unbeatable location.

What makes this apartment unique

There are a huge number of things to do in Madrid, but it is often the famous Madrid shopping streets that lure people into renting Madrid accommodation. The fashion boutiques and local craft shops which adorn the central business district mean that shopping holidays in Madrid are never far from the top of the list for shopping destinations. The huge range of styles and cuisine of Madrid restaurants also helps to keep energy levels high, and fantastic cooking courses lasting between a single session and a whole week can easily be arranged. The medieval centre of Madrid hides many fantastic monuments. Those taking a Madrid weekend break are best staying in accommodation close to the historic centre, as there is so much here that you can fit a huge amount into just a short Madrid city break. The ‘big three’ museums in Madrid, the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia, hold famous collections of art, and tourism in Madrid is often centred around the Puerta del Sol right in the city centre.

Perfect, comfortable and well situated for everything

  • 5 of 5

We were warmly welcomed and given lots of excellent information. The apartment is perfectly situated for eating places and the major sights of Madrid - we walked everywhere. We will definitely return as we did not have long enough to see all we would like to.

Great apartment, great location, great management!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this apartment and would definitely recommend it! If we ever return to Madrid we would stay here again. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It was also in a great location and we could walk everywhere to see all the main attractions. Many great restaurants and groceries close by. Carmen was great, explained everything about the apt and gave us a wonderful map, marking many great places to visit/see. Fabulous restaurant up the corner from apartment, "La Rollerie", ate here 3 times! Coffee and gelato couple more times!!

Some suggestions for management: maybe an extra towel in each bathroom. We were there 3 nights and only had one towel each. There is a washer/dryer but it takes awhile to go thru full cycle so you may not have a dry towel when needed!! Trash can in each bathroom would be great. If you are traveling with another couple you really don't want to come out of bathroom to throw away "certain items" or things when you are still in bathroom and not presentable to come out!! Just suggestions and neither would keep me from staying here again!

Three days in Madrid

  • 5 of 5

4 of us stayed for 3 nights in this lovely 2 bedroom apartment. Really well located near to the centre but on a quiet side street. Just over 8 euros taxi fare to the apartment from Atocha railway station. Carmen met us with maps and information which were very useful. Very well equipped, although for 3 nights we didn't use the washing machine or dish washer as we ate out. Near to everything including loads of restaurants and tapas bars, walking distance to the Prado, Palacio Real, Gran Via etc. Clean and comfortable, would certainly stay here again.

Very nice and classy apartment in a perfect spot in Madrid center!

  • 4 of 5

This was the second time I stayed in these apartments owned by Carmen. I really like the city of Madrid and this neighborhood is a perfect spot to stay in. The apartment is very cosy and neat and newly renovated. It has everything that is needed for a short stay. Good beds for 4 people. The only reason not to give 5 stars was the lack of a decent bed for a fifth person. We were five and one of us had to sleep on a couch that was not ok for an adult. For a small child it would be ok.

Outstanding location.

  • 5 of 5

Outstanding location. Truly spacious and very near to several metro stations and bus stops. At least fifteen restaurants within a 3 minute walk. Lovely decor. The owner is an outstanding host. All five of us had a wonderful time. Would certainly go back. Do not look any further, this is the place. Gracias Carmen!

Fantastic time in Madrid! Close to everything! Beautiful apt!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed at Latina Brick as we visited another daughter who is living in Madrid. This apt is close to everything. 2 squares are at either end of the block. Even though the metro stop at Tirso de Molina was still closed (as previously noted) it was no problem to access transportation. (Should be open by now) We were able to use the buses to get to the rail station and get a rental car to travel in the countryside to visit our daughters school.

Kristina met us upon arrival and oriented us completely. Having the washer dryer and a dishwasher was key for us! Soap was included which was great!

One small issue with the en suite shower was immediately resolved. Both Carmen and Sol were very responsive to emails and texts.

We had a wonderful time! Can't say enough about this apt. Beautifully furnished. Even had an elevator for our luggage that we only used twice. (On arrival and leaving.)

Next time might go for Latina Palace as it is a bit bigger and likely more seating in the living area for 4 adults but we spent most of our time out of the apt honestly!
