Our lake house is located in incomparable Sandpoint, Idaho. Sandpoint was voted the 'Most beautiful small town in America' in 2011 by USA Today and will blow you away with natural beauty, friendly people, abundant activities and great food! Our lake house is an easy stroll from all the amenities of downtown Sandpoint but still has a private location right on your own sandy beach beside the beautiful waters of Lake Pend Oreille. Does your perfect vacation involve parking your car when you arrive and not getting in it again until you leave? Waking up to 270 degree views of the lake and mountains? Mooring your boat on your own private dock (with boat lift) where your kids can spend the whole day and never get bored. Walking through tree lined streets of historic south sandpoint on your short stroll into town to enjoy a coffee, glass of wine or relaxing lunch? Whatever the season or activity our 3 bedroom lake house in Sandpoint is the perfect home base for a relaxing, fun filled break. Sandpoint has a unique vibe that will draw you in and make you want to come back again and again.

About Fraser Powell

We are an active family of four who all love the water, skiing and boarding. Our family time is a top priority and we have found no place we enjoy more than Sandpoint.

Fraser Powell purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Fraser Powell chose Lake Pend Oreille

We fell in love with Sandpoint & the Lake Pend Oreille area when we first drove through in 2006. The lake is one of the most spectacular places we have visited in North America and Sandpoint has an incredible relaxed and fun atmosphere year round. There are so many great restaurants and downtown is alive with great local live music.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort is an easy 20 minute drive and has some of the best skiing and riding we have found. Schweitzer is a real hidden gem and even on a busy weekend you will never wait long in a lift line.

What makes this townhome unique

Our professional and family activities really keep us busy and it is such a pleasure to go to Sandpoint, park the car and hardly need to touch it again until we leave. Everything you want to do is right at your doorstep or a pleasant walk away.

One of our favorite outings, and one we try and do every summer, is to take the boat down the lake to Hope or across to the Lodge at Sandpoint and have an unforgettable meal at one of the great lakeside restaurants. The late afternoon boat ride, sunset, dinner and trip back is always a memorable highlight.

We were very lucky to book this wonderful property last minute when we decided to go on a road trip. Owners were very friendly and easy to work with.

We stayed 2 nights before going on to Coeur D'Alene but if it had been available we would have been content to just stay put. So relaxing!!

We prefer our accommodations to be very spacious, clean, comfortable, well equipped with all the extras and we were not disappointed with this property.

They have thought of all the little extras to make your stay enjoyable.

We highly recommend this lake house and definitely hope to return ourselves.

Everything we wanted was there

  • 5 of 5

The Powells family had everything you could want for a vacation. Our family enjoyed all that was available, fishing pools, sup, fire pit, indoor fire, pier for rental boat, wifi, fully equipped kitchen with everything you need, comfy beds and great views. Only downside was cool, windy weather with only one great sunny calm day out of 4. Couldn't blame the owners on that. Oh yeh, I forgot to mention the great art all over the house. We even took picture of that.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful house in a great location. Stayed here for four days, which luckily coincided with a classic car show that gave the town a very festive buzz throughout the weekend. The property itself was well-equipped. Everything we needed, e.g. supplies for the bathroom, kitchen, patio area were provided. Great views from the patio out back. The area offered quite a few outdoor activities. We went hiking and kayaking, but my personal favourite was the gathering of friends around the fire pit by the lake after dinner. Overall, a wonderful holiday that was made extra relaxing by the hassle-free check-in and check-out procedures. Highly recommended, and would stay here again next time we're in Sandpoint.

Owner's Response: Really glad to hear you enjoyed the lakeside fire pit. It is still pretty new. We imagined it just as you described it as a fun gathering spot to make great memories with friends and family. The lost in the 50's Classic Car show is a special weekend to be in Sandpoint. This year is the first time we have not been in town to enjoy it in 6 years. I am very envious of the great weekend you had. Hope to have you back again next year.

Perfect Sandpoint Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect cozy getaway spot! The house is arranged in a way that creates great space for time together as a group or family, and also for quiet seclusion upstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped, and everything was in good working order. The views were absolutely gorgeous, and we enjoyed the ample outdoor seating and dock. Distance to town was a short pleasant stroll, and a delightful diversion. And the owner was helpful and quick to respond when we had a question.

I plan to return to this little gem.

great property!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 1 week while skiing at Schweitzer Mountain and this house was perfect for us! This was our second time staying at this house and we plan to continue the tradition!! The triple bunk room was great for the kids! The kitchen area was great for big dinners and plenty of space to spread out. Location on the lake was beautiful and very close to town, could walk easily. Thank you again we cannot wait to return next season!!

Owner's Response: Happy to have you back again this season for more riding at Schweitzer. The conditions were amazing this year. Glad to hear you enjoyed our new bunkhouse bedroom renovation. It was designed as a fun spot for kids but also works well for adults. Let us know when you are coming back next winter. We would love to have you back.

Fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week with another family (4 adults and two teenage boys total). This is an extremely nice home on prime waterfront facing south. We always bring a few key kitchen pans and pots and other kitchen essentials because we've learned from experience that rental properties typically have sub-standard gear. The owners of this property are clearly into cooking and the cupboards are literally filled with high quality kitchen cookware, ample utensils and better than expected stemware. A Breville espresso maker and Bosch DW were nice touches.

All areas of the home were extremely clean at arrival. The Family room is very cozy with comfortable seating for 8+ people, large screen TV, and bone dry firewood with a gas starter. The decor includes lots of good artwork and modern furniture in very good condition. The boys loved the creative staggered triple bunk beds with additional loft and their own TV. The master is huge and has a desk facing out to the lake. With lots of snow and cold weather, we really appreciated the heated two-car garage.

There is of course a wish list but it is very short and only contains minor items:

*More lighting in the dining room area

*There's a 3' x 4" opening from the upstairs master looking down on the living space and the slider doesn't really block sounds from below. It does allow heat to rise into the bedroom.

*Either the dining table should be lower or the chairs higher. A pillow solved the issue for shorter people.

I highly recommend this home, especially if you appreciate modern aesthetics, enjoy cooking, and appreciate views. It is very close to downtown Sandpoint. It is right next to a public access to the lake but a tall hedge maintains privacy. We came for the skiing and Schweitzer was awesome (30 minutes). Coming home to this property was the capper to a great day. Fraser was very responsive to a minor plumbing issue and it's clear that he cares about the details that keep his property in very good condition. If it meets your budget, you won't be disappointed.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the stellar review! You are correct we do love to cook and do our best to ensure the kitchen is stocked with good quality Pots and accessories like you would find at your own home. It has been our experience the better quality items not only work better but also last longer. I agree the lighting on our dining table can be an issue. We are working on a solution. Likewise for the window from the master bedroom. We have some renovation plans in the works that will address this spot which we hope to execute in the next year. We hope to have you back again soon for some more lakeside fun and incredible skiing!!.
