Mali Ston Villa Rental Photos and Description

Renovated stone house; beautiful garden; 1 minute to beach; close to restaurants

This gorgeous traditional stone built house has been tastefully renovated and stands in a beautifully landscaped garden of 800 square metres. The garden rises in terraces offering a variety of secluded areas for relaxing and sun bathing, and incorporates a swimming pool 9 metres x 4.5 metres, sun bathing terraces, a shady terrace under a pergola and a barbecue area.

The villa is situated about 100 metres from the water’s edge in an elevated position with views to the sea and across the walled town of Mali Ston and it impressive castle. The villa sleeps 6 in three rooms (two double one twin) with the possibility of sleeping a seventh person on a fold out bed in the main bedroom or two extras on a bed-settee in the lounge. Interior furnishings are to the highest standard. The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, a fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven. Air con; underfloor heating.

Wine: Local wines from the Peljesac peninsular are considered to be amongst Croatia’s finest. Notable are the red wines. Dingac is most highly regarded but we would also recommend trying Postup and Plavac. There are several wineries located in the village of Potomje on the road running up the centre of the peninsular. It is possible to taste wine and buy directly from the wineries.

The island of Mljet: The ferry service running from Prapratno to Mljet provides convenient access to the island from Mali Ston.

The most wooded of Croatia’s 1100 islands Mljet is 30 km long and only 3 km wide. One third of the island is a national park that contains two lakes that are linked to each other and to the sea. In the centre of the large lake is an island with a Benedictine monastery first established in the 12th century and rebuilt in the Renaissance period.

Mljet is best appreciated by walking or cycling through the national park area. There is a bus service that takes you into the park and which links with a boat to take you out to the monastery. There are several coastal villages and excellent seafood restaurants.

Professionally landscaped garden of 800 square metres planted with Lavender, Rosemary, Mimosa, Fig, Olive, Pomegranate, Orange and Almond.

A wonderful villa in a delightful village

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from the most amazing holiday at Villa Mimosa and Villa Catarina, near Dubrovnik; stayed with some good friends and we used both villas. We basked in luxury, chilling out in the pool and lapping up the atmosphere of the local culture in the charming little fishing village. This is such a beautiful area, unspoiled and quite wild in places. The sea is clear and warm, local food is fantastic and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Make this your next holiday destination, you won't regret it.

Villa Mimosa...a little slice of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Mimosa is the perfect holiday home. It is clean, well equipped and has a fantastic pool. The decor is fresh and stylish and the furnishings and bedding extremely comfortable. Mrs Maruska pops in to check that everything is fine and should there be any problems, she will sort them out immediately. The villa is located in the quaint old town of Mali Ston which is surrounded by medieval walls and produces the best oysters money can buy! There are several excellent restaurants in the village and this is also true of its larger neighbour Ston, just a few minutes away by car (or choose to walk the walls to get there which afford stunning views). Many beaches are easily reached by car and are usually pretty little coves where you can bathe in a turquoise sea. A day trip to the old city of Dubrovnik is a must. It was bombed during the "Homeland War" of '92 but has been renovated seamlessly and is a perfect jewel. The arboretum is also worth a visit. Sit by the side of the Neptune fountain, dipping your fingers in the water and enjoying the verdant shade from the hot sun offered by exotic trees. To end the holiday eat at a restaurant which you can only get to by boat! The owner will pick you up and treat you to a delicious meal made from the freshest fish, homemade bread, homemade olive oils and local wine. I thoroughly recommend this villa, it was a little slice of Heaven!

Villa Mimosa Croatian villas

  • 5 of 5

An excellently restored villa - very well equipped from John Lewis! Supremely comfortable and relaxing The individually controlled air con in each room was an unexpected boon. Accommodation will suit one family well . Lovely pool and grounds The caretaker is extremely helpful and unobtrusive. Mali Ston is a stunning and well positioned location around an hour from Dubrovnik airport. The whole peninsula is a delight and unspoilt; the neighbouring larger village of Ston has enough going on to create a good sense of community and interest

Mali Ston is a picturesque fortified medieval town standing on the water's edge at one end of the narrow isthmus that joins the Peljesac peninsula to the mainland. It is 45 minutes drive from Dubrovnik. The Dubrovnik Republic acquired control over Peljesac in 1333 and proceeded to construct massive fortifications in the form of a 5.5 kilometre wall spanning the isthmus and circling the towns of Ston and Mali Ston that stood on the coast at either end of the wall. Above Mali Ston and forming part of the town’s fortification stands an impressive five towered castle. You can swim from the shingle beaches in Mali Ston (just 100 metres from Villa Mimosa) or make the short drive (4 km) to the sheltered Prapratno Cove on the opposite side of the peninsula where you will find one of the finest sandy beaches in Croatias. Mali Ston is famous for it seafood, particularly oysters, and there are several excellent restaurants in Ston and Mali Ston.
