Great granddaughter of original owners and granddaughter of original builders. I live near by and am the caretaker along with my brother (who also lives in Charlevoix) and our families.

This cottage is my family heritage and is where my favorite lifetime memories were created. We grew up here during the summers enjoying camp fires, s'mores, swimming, fishing with my mom, waterskiing, reading under the shade trees and just plain being kids. Every day was an adventure! As an adult, I appreciate this unique setting even more. We would like to share this with you so that you and your family may create similar memories.
As you drive down the tree shaded drive, you can spot Mimi's red cottage at the end of the road. You step out of your car and take in a deep breath of fresh lake air. Walk through the garden into the country kitchen and immediately feel right at home. Don't bother to unpack, instead head down the expanse of lawn right to the lake. Walk out to the end of the dock, take another deep breath and RELAX! Your vacation has now begun!
I grew up spending many summers on Lake Charlevoix. This cottage allowed me to share my love for Charlevoix with my kids. The sleeping porch is perfect for young kids, the house has rustic charm and is perfect for that old world feel. I highly recommend Mimi's Cottage!
Weather was great and so was the cottage. My family had a great time. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
We really enjoyed the location...not as busy as the main lake. The house is so quaint! It is stocked with all the supplies you will need. Great dock to fish from and a canoe to use to tour the lake. You feel secluded :) Our 3 daughters enjoyed their stay as well! Highly recommend!
The cottage was older but functioned perfectly and had all of the elements of a classic northwoods vacation home, from the woodwork and potbelly stove, to the cozy sleeping porch. The outdoor space was great to match, with a well-maintained dock and sandy beach, and our two dogs loved running in the yard and surrounding woods. We felt plenty secluded, but were still a short drive from Ironton and Charlevoix. All in all, I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay. - Owen Gibby 7-9-2016
Owners and family were wonderful, it was like staying at a friend's cabin. Property was beautiful and rustic, everything we needed for our two week stay. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and relax for a while, this is the place. I have been coming to Lake Charlevoix for 45 years, a beautiful lake with lots to do. Dock was big enough and deep enough to dock my 25' wakeboard boat and my 18' fishing boat. We caught small mouth bass and walleye within 200 yards of the cabin, paddle boarded, wake surfed, wake boarded, tubed and enjoyed many hours on the water. We golfed at 3 different courses within 20 minutes drive, boated into town to listen to live music and ate plenty of fudge. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, see you next year!
We just came back from an absolutely wonderful stay at the cottage. 4 people and a dog. What a fantastic stay. The cottage was great, cabin atmosphere, quiet, very relaxing. Swam off the dock, cooked out by the lake, slept on the porch, etc... Great time. I have summered on Charlevoix for the past 7 years, and this was by far our favorite vacation. My wife said that if it not for the kids, she would have cried when she had to leave... she loved it so much. Thanks for the great time!
Castle Farms is nearby with activities / shows/weddings every weekend. Strawberry, raspberry picking nearby at Kitely's farm. The Jordan River is great for canoeing and tubing. Lake Charlevoix is wonderful for swimming, fishing, skiing, kayaking, sailing, and most water sports. Petoskey stone hunting is a favorite past-time.
