Annadel State Park & amazing hiking, amazing mountain biking, fishing & swimming, Spring Lake Regional Park with gentle hike/walks around an inspirational lake that has canoeing & Howarth Park an outstanding park that caters to younger children that has a train, amazing childrens play area & another lake. All 3 parks touch each other and easily access each other.
Doran Park & Sonoma Coast State Park at Salmon Creek are another unique and wonderful aspect of the magnificent Sonoma Coast. The Sonoma Coast is powerful & threatening most of the time & Doran Park provides a reasonably safe beach area for younger children with Caribbean types of waves as it is protected by Bodega Bay from the powerful surf that comes in from the Pacific Ocean. Sonoma Coast State Park at Salmon Creek has a unique beach that has wonderful sand dunes for the adventurous to explore all day long.
All this is why this home is unique for a trip to wine country.
Do not underestimate the wonderful winter weather at the Sonoma Coast. This is one of those 'local' secrets that the fall, winter & spring weather at the coast is actually quite nice & more appealing than the summer weather.
If you do not want to drive anywhere, literally across the street is Upper Brush Creek Regional Park. This is a stone throw from this home and it provides 5 acres of undeveloped park with oaks & personal solitude for a invigorating walk in the morning.
There is a dog (border collie) on the property. IF you have anyone in your party that is extremely allergic to dogs my property is not what you need. The dog spends an occasional night in the home.
I like my dog. I like my friends. I like my children. I like my grandchildren. I like where I live. I like people. I like my work.
The Owner purchased this house in 2000
I always dreamed of living in Northern California because of the its incredible beauty & amazing weather.
I enjoy gardening and have a wonderful & unique greenhouse, along with raised beds that I enjoy growing my own beets, turnips, cilantro, basil etc...
I love volley ball and the yard is 3500 sq. ft. so we keep a volleyball net up all the time that can be quickly removed. On Saturday mornings @ 11 am there is an Ultimate Frisbee club that meets 2 minutes away @ the north end of Montecito Park.
Listing description is accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ?

Enjoyed Northern Sonoma valley, Calistoga, Healdsburg and Russian River Valley
Only (-) for me was the bed(s) were too soft, but that may be a personal preference.
We were a party of five and stayed 4 nights in early July to tour wineries in Napa and Sonoma. We were very happy with this property and found everything to be as advertised. The location gave us easy drive times to Healdsburg and to many of our favorite wineries. We used the pool table and threw a frisbee in the spacious backyard. The large family room was used a lot for morning coffees and evening wine sipping. In the house, everything worked properly. The third bathroom was also handy.
The owner Ken is friendly and very easy to work with. Importantly, he was responsive to the questions that we had for him. In addition, Ken has an on-site caretaker for the property who met us on arrival and helped us on our departure day as well.
An excellent rental experience. No complaints.
We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. The location was perfect. There was a great grocery store, Oliver's, within walking distance. My kids all met here for my youngests 23rd Birthday. We were close to the local brewerys. Saturday we enjoyed a Wine Tour and were close to many wonderful wineries. The hot tub was perfect for the boys to enjoy while catching up with each other. We cooked every meal in the large, beautiful kitchen. I can't say enough about the comfort and beauty of this house. There is a caretaker, who was so awesome and helpful. Just a gem of a find here! Thanks for a wonderful trip!
Our family of 5 traveled to California for a wedding. We were so pleased to have a house for the week we were in town. It was in a great location close to shopping and state parks. The house was just perfect for us and had lots of room for all 5 adults. The owner was wonderful to work with before and when we arrived.
We really enjoyed the ping pong/pool table and hot tub after hiking all day. If we ever return to Santa Rosa we wouldn't hesitate to book this home again.
OUr family of 4 and mother stayed at this house for a week and we were so pleased. It is at the end of a quiet culdesac and so easily accessible to many attractions. You are 15 minutes max to everything in town and close to wineries, the ocean, the Russian River - we were so impressed! Wonderful kitchen and lots of room to spread out. The owner was just awesome to work with and it was nice to have the friendly caretaker if we had any questions. My kids enjoyed the pingpong/pool table and even though we didn't bring our dogs this year, I have every intention of staying at this property again and bringing them. Since everything is on one level, it is handicap friendly also. We truly enjoyed our time there and next year, we will be back and will use this house again. Thank you Ken and JR!
This is a large, well-appointed house for a family gathering. Spacious yard, large family room with lots of seating, pool table/ping pong table too. Very well stocked kitchen and the owner has left staples like herbs and spices for your use, which is very nice. 3-4 bedrooms - one room is connected to the master bedroom with no door separating the spaces, just a wide, open doorway. There were mattresses for our use on the floor in that space which was fine for kids. Three full bathrooms each with a shower was a very nice feature. There are plenty of linens and towels, nice washer/dryer and other appliances. The caretaker lives on the premises and is there for any questions, and the owner was very responsive via emails and phone calls.
Annadel State Park, 4000 acres of magnificent hiking, mountain biking & swimming, Howarth Park, children's park, train ride, boat rental, Spring Lake Regional Park, wonderful lake with canoeing, fishing & gentle walk/hikes.
