Enjoy long-range spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains at “Point of View” in Banner Elk, NC. This elegant cabin is located near the very top of Beech Mountain, one mile away from Fred’s General Store, and two miles away from Beech ski resort. Beech Mountain is the highest town in the eastern United States at 5500 feet. The home is roughly 2800 square feet (with finished basement) and includes three bedrooms (King bed, King bed, 2 single beds, and a pull out Queen sized sleeper sofa in lower family room.) Many new furnishings have been added in 2013. Awaken to gorgeous mountain views and relax by the sizzling hot tub. Go hiking, skiing, zip lining, rafting, shopping, fishing, tubing, antiquing, and more. Then, cozy up by the gas fireplace, play a game of foosball, view the stars with the house telescope, play a tune on the old piano, or enjoy grilling a meal on the expansive deck. Point of View is secluded and private, yet close to town on a gated street. Without the privacy gate, the street would be a tourist haven as the views are breath- taking all along the way. Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Valle Crucis, Sugar Mountain, Blowing Rock and Linville Falls are close to the home/Banner Elk.
Point of View surrounds you with comfort on all three levels. The lower level has a family room that contains a queen pull out sleeper sofa, private level entrance, stairs to middle floor, and one full private bathroom. The main level has a large family room, dining area, kitchen, fireplace, bedroom (king), another bedroom (two singles) and one bath. The upstairs is the master loft (king) with a sitting area that overlooks the family room and mountain views. It has a large bathroom and separate small balcony/deck.
Point of View offers free wifi for guests as well as clean linens. Taxes are included in rental rates.
Sorry, no pets or smoking are allowed in Point of View.

We have enjoyed the mountains as a quiet, relaxing retreat for many years of our marriage. This home was our favorite home that we stayed in for its gorgeous views and mile high tranquility. When we noticed it was listed for sale, we decided to purchase it.
Now, we hope to share it with others and offer them the same great experiences.
Deborah purchased this cabin in 2002
We chose to purchase this home over the others mainly for the views and the gorgeous street. I am a sucker for a sunset and one of the first sunsets won hands down as being the prettiest I had ever seen. With the wooden interior walls and ceiling, we liked that it felt like a rustic mountain home. The cool summer was ideal for us. The open deck with the hot tub was a factor in our decision because I prefer to feel a little sunshine while I soak or even view the stars, which wouldn't work on a covered deck. The lot was not too steep. Some properties for sale had decks so far off of the ground that I would get afraid of heights when I looked over the rail. I liked the paved driveway. I liked the big wooden island in the kitchen and the rock floors. We enjoyed the privacy of the home with the established trees.... yet it was close to town. And, last but not least, we liked the area and people of Banner Elk. Now, I can't imagine being any where else when I think of going on a retreat. We love Point of View!
2nd time staying. Deborah is an ease to work with. The view is unbeatable. The peaceful neighborhood offers the most relaxing vacation you'll ever have. We did not want to leave!!
If you have come this far in deciding to rent this house or not, stop reading and make your reservation now! The house is in great condition, the rooms are a great size, and that view is simply awe inspiring. The hot tub is in great condition, and perfect any time of day. We are already planning on renting again next year for more time than our first trip. You won't wan't to leave!
We have been going to Banner Elk for the last 6 years to ski both Sugar and Beech Mountain and have stayed in a different cabin each time. We have had a hard time finding the right cabin, either the privacy is great but the view isn't, the amenities aren't up to par, the location is not quite right, but feel like this cabin had it all.
Deborah was very quick to respond to my emails and was very helpful in recommending chains for our tires due to the bad weather expected during our stay. When we arrived, the fog was so thick you could barely see the road and the wind was gusting up to 40 mph, we were thankful the cabin was in a gated community and the street leading up to the cabin was paved as was the driveway, which isn't always the case with cabins up there. Upon entering the cabin, the main room took our breathe away. The floor to ceiling windows, the large kitchen island and just the attention to detail to make it rustic but yet elegant. The kids were quick to pick out their rooms while we unloaded the car, which was parked under the deck which was nice due to the weather. Once we were able to settle down and look around, we were amazed at how well stocked the kitchen was with pots, pans, utensils etc. The cabin had everything we needed and more, which is nice because we usually either have to buy a lot of items or go without.
Believe it or not, we checked in on Monday and it was Thursday before we were able to see the amazing view and when I saw amazing, it was 180 degrees of nothing but mountains with sugar mtn in plain view. We usually ski at Sugar with our kids, which was only about a 15 minute drive away, but it is so close to beech mtn resort you could almost walk there. We had a lot of fun skiing, playing in the snow and enjoying the views and would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to relax while taking in the magnificent views.
thanks from the Wood Family, ski vacation Feb 2016
Agreed on the million dollar views, especially when you wake up in the loft bedroom. Wonderful house and convenient to Beech Mtn., great weekend of skiing and enjoying the hot tub after a long day of skiing. We'll be back.
My family had a great time at this beautiful home. Just enough snow for the grandchildren to have some fun and close enough to the ski slopes for the kids to get in plenty of sking. Plenty of room for us older folks to just relax.
