About Steve Boucher
One of us writes books for a living. One of us has spent most of his adult life protecting and serving the people of Bar Harbor. Together? We're a pretty good combination!
Steve Boucher purchased this Bungalow in 2014
Why Steve Boucher chose Bar Harbor
We purchased the house as a place for a Bar Harbor firefighter and his young family to live. After they had established themselves and gotten a place of their own, we still owned a house! Now you get to rent it. : )
What makes this Bungalow unique
This house is just so close to everything! Walk, walk, walk, that is good advice for in-town summer travel. The free Island Explorer shuttle is also a five-minute walk away and will take you anywhere on Mount Desert Island that you would like to go!

Lovely house - great amount of beds for everyone
Clean, nice house with lots of beds! Perfect for a family of six.
Great house, convenient to everything!
It was a lovely house right off Cottage St and a short walk to everything we needed, including the grocery store and the shops and restaurants of Bar Harbor. It's also very close to Acadia, which is where we spent most of our time. We had a great trip!
Perfect for our family of five.
We fell in love with this house instantly the moment we entered it. It is located at the far side of downtown Bar Harbor. Grocery store, gift shops, restaurants, Bar Island... are all within walking distance. It's within 10 minutes drive to Acadia national park. It's just so convenient! There are four bedrooms with nice soft bedding and comfy beds. There are two small living rooms adjacent to each other. Such layout naturally divides family members into those who wanted to use the TV for streaming movies or just quietly surfing on the internet. The kitchen has all basic tools that we need for making two square meals a day. Bathrooms are clean and roomy.
I could have given it a five stars. The one star being taking off is for two aspects: 1)The house is next to a busy road on one side and restaurants on the other. Sometime it could get a bit noisy when people playing loud music or chat loudly after a few drinks; 2) the internet wifi could get a bit slow when all five of us using our electronic device to surf at the same time. In spite of that, the advantages still outnumbered the disadvantages.
We loved the house and the location was great!!
We loved every bit of our stay and the house was great. We were within walking distance of everything in Bar Harbor and just a mile or two from the park entrance where we hiked every day. Special thanks for the blueberry pie the owners left for us!! Can't wait to come back.
Great Location to Explore Acadia National Park
We made a great choice in renting this home. The owners were flexible when we had a medical emergency that required a slight change in plans. Check in was incredibly easy; we felt as though we were visiting family friends when we arrived with the blueberry pie on the counter! The walkout basement was ideal with the bicycles, hiking and running equipment we brought to enjoy the outdoor environment of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We stayed active hiking the Gorham Mountain Trail, Champlain Mountain Trail, Beehive Trail, Pemetic Mountain Trail and enjoyed the carriage trails, Sands Beach and the town of Bar Harbor. The location of the house made everything easily accessible. Be mindful, however, that the home is located directly on Eden Street. The street is busy and noisy with traffic all day and evening. Also note that one bedroom in the home exits either through a shared bathroom or another bedroom. Additionally, the departure requirements required considerable time; as per the directions, we stripped every bed, washed sheets and towels, sorted recycling and organized trash.
house was clean, comfortable, in good condition and actually quite roomy with two adjacent living rooms and four bedrooms, only one of which was fairly small - the others were roomy; linens and towels were new and plentiful; only downside was the location adjacent to a busy road - frequent motorcycles and trucks were quite noisy; otherwise, location was handy to downtown attractions
