Highland Manor is absolutely beautiful and suited our family reunion needs perfectly. The living space and kitchen is enormous! We were all able to gather comfortably in the same area. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The owner, Laurie, was so friendly and just wonderful to work with. Our group usually goes somewhere different every year but we are definitely considering a repeat visit. I would highly recommend this home.
Highland Manor is a great house. There were 8 couples there for a short getaway. There was plenty of room for all of us. The pool and hot tub we we great. The kitchen was so big that we never got in each other's way. Having two fridges and dish washers was great. Plenty of room for food and beer. Would like to come back next year.
This house had plenty of room for the 16 of us. I loved that we were all able to sit at one table each night for dinner & the indoor pool was one of the best features of the house!! Everyone used it & the jacuzzi was so relaxing at the end of the day. The kitchen was huge & we definitely loved having the two refrigerators & dishwashers!! Whenever we had a question Laurie the owner responded quickly & was so great during the whole process, from the first phone call I had with her when we were Interested in renting it, until after we all got home & she reached out to make sure our stay was great! I highly recommend renting this house.
We were recently at Highland Manor for a long weekend for my mother in law's surprise 70th birthday celebration and it was fantastic! We were coming in from different states and not only is Deep Creek a great location but Highland Manor definitely exceeded our expectations! The kids loved the indoor pool and definitely did not let that sit idle much and the upstairs open floor plan was perfect for all of us to gather for mealtimes, games and cards. There was more than enough room in the kitchen for everyone to be in there and plenty of seating which was also great. We had a nice, sunny 65 degree day followed by a chilly 30 degree day so we made good use of the fireplace as well! :-) Everyone kept commenting on how great the house was and we couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate someone very special to all of us. On top of the house being fantastic, Laurie was also the best to work with! Complete top notch weekend for us and I can't say enough how much fun we had! Looking forward to coming back in the summer months when it's warmer and we will definitely be reaching out to Laurie again!! Thanks again for everything Laurie!!
I visited Deep Creek Lake last year and came across Highland Manor in my search for a home. It was booked but I was in touch with the owner through emails and said that I would get back in touch for this year as I was celebrating a milestone birthday. In the fall we got back in touch and I booked with ease for the end of February. We had a total of 22 staying there --- 6 different families and never once felt crowded! In fact there are so many great things about this home...it is gorgeous as is the development it is in, each bedroom has it's own bathroom, the indoor pool kept all the children happy while the adults were in their glory in the hot tub, the pool table and game room also entertained everyone, the fireplace kept us warm and the dining room/kitchen area was big enough for all of us to eat around our "extended" table! It was great being close to Wisp also so some could quickly go and ski/board/tube while others relaxed out the house. We also took several walks through the neighborhood and always saw deer in the various yards. I also arrived to a special birthday gift and note from the owner that showed that extra touch! All of us traveled from different areas to be here to celebrate -- some 3 hours, some 4 hours and some 5 hours and all of us feel like we have started a tradition! In fact on Monday night when she got home my best friend called me and said her daughter who is 11 said that she wished it was Friday and not Monday so that the weekend was just beginning and not ending...and frankly so did I!
Twenty family members stayed at Highland Manor for a holiday getaway right after Christmas. While most of us came from Ohio, there were family from Texas, Georgia, & Florida. There was plenty of room to spend every meal together and play games or just hang out but also plenty of space to spread out and have privacy as well. We went for a ski trip but it was so warm there was no snow, but having a house like Highland Manor to stay in, it did not matter. Most of the family was able to go zip-lining, they came back with some great stories. They also went on the mountain coaster at Wisp Resort just down the hill from the house. The house was clean and spacious. The kitchen is generously stocked with all sizes of pots and pans, coffee makers, even a crock pot. We did not have to bring anything except food. We cooked every meal in the huge kitchen and spent time talking and catching up with family around the large table and open area. The family enjoyed challenging each other in games of pool and foosball, spent time watching the football games on Sunday together, we played board games in the evenings and people could retire to their bedrooms as they wanted. The room with the swimming pool was also a great place for some family to hang out as well as the covered hot tub just a couple steps outside the pool room on the deck. It was cold outside but the hot tub felt so nice and just 2 or 3 steps into the warmth of the pool room, we didn't have a chance to get cold. There are 6 bedrooms downstairs and 2 large bedrooms upstairs off the family room. Plenty of bathrooms for everyone. There were plenty of places to sleep. Some of the younger adults stayed up until the wee hours of the morning playing pool or hanging in the hot tub so some even decided to sleep on a couch or a couple of the guys slept in the warm pool room on the lounge chairs because it was so warm and relaxing! Our family had a wonderful time and the house is just beautiful. When we first arrived through the big wooden doors, we were in awe at the beauty. Everyone had to take the tour through the house before we even unpacked the cars. The only child that went was my 5 year old grandson and he loved the house and was sad to leave after four nights. We would definitely return for another vacation at Highland Manor in winter or summer! Laurie is so sweet, she was very helpful in planning our visit and kept in touch with us before and after our trip. We highly recommend Highland Manor!
