Come enjoy our brand new cabin in Kanab. Completed in 2012, this luxury 2 bedroom cabin on 2.6 acres is located in the Ranchos area of Kanab.

The cabin was design for the way we live today with a large great room.

Kanab is an ideal place to stay while exploring Southern Utah's amazing sights. The Grand Canyon North Rim, Zion National Park, Bryce, Lake Powell are all easy day trips from Goldena's Cabin.

Kanab is also home to the world famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The cabin is just 15 minutes to Best Friends for those wonderful volunteers who come to Kanab to spend their vacations giving love and care to the homeless animals at Best Friends.

There's always shade to set a spell. Enjoy the covered front and back porches for morning coffee, sunsets and star-gazing.

Relax and enjoy the 2 flat screen TV's. A 42' in Master and a 46' in the living area.

Why leave your pets at home, they need a vacation too. Goldena's Cabin is the purrfect place for pets, fenced backyard, tile floors & open spaces.

Recreational opportunities abound with hiking, ATV riding, horseback riding, golfing, boating, etc. There are hundreds of miles of dirt roads to explore in Southern Utah. You'll never run out of roads to take, just to see where they're going!

Come enjoy the west...and stay a spell....

Sunset Magazine South West Home

  • 5 of 5

Our apologies for being so tardy with our review. My wife and I with our two Aussies were totally stoked by "Goldena's Cabin" it was like walking into a Sunset Magazine photo spread. A perfect base for daily trips to multiple locations for both hiking and taking pictures of all the surrounding vistas. Bryce & Zion were an easy drive, easy access to main highway to head south towards Powell and Wire Pass slot canyon. The fenced back yard was perfect to allow our Aussies a chance to stretch their legs and was free of Goat heads, have to watch it in the front yard though, just kept them leash out there. We ate most of our evening meals there, decent grocery store near by, going out for breakfast was a little challenging but ok, lunches were what we packed for the day. At night the big bluff out back on the horizon was a good back drop for night photography. The only thing we could not find was a mop, after some rain, red clay dog prints on the tile floor, one would have been handy but we carry dog towels for such a possibility. We had rain & snow and beautiful warm days, the gas stove really added a warmth when curled up on the couch's watching tv.

Perfect homebase to visit Grand Canyone, Bryce & Zion with plenty of extras

  • 5 of 5

My cousin and I stayed here in October, along with my dog. We visited the North Rim, Bryce and, briefly, Zion. Goldena's is perfect for the relatively short drives to each park. The have directTV so we were able to watch the Texas Rangers beat up the Toronto Blue Jays - we grilled on the weber charcoal grill a couple of nights (couldn't locate a grill brush, which was shocking considering how well stocked this place is: kitchen is fully stocked with all the extras you could need to cook any meal, condiments aplenty in the fridge, several bags of coffee of all types in the freezer, a nice gas range, pet bowls which I forgot to bring, and on and on). The desert landscaping was done really well and adds a lot of curb appeal as you pull through the gate each evening. Nice front patio, easy in and out. Out back is more desert landscaping in a large fenced in area. The property does back up against another home, the only sign of life we saw was from the chicken coop - but not noisy at all. The owners provide a detailed welcome letter with a lot of great information. They are courteous but not intrusive, the privacy is nice. Inside is clean and charmingly decorated - a gas stovepipe oven adds to the ambience at night. It really is a great place to stay, and as a hotel manager I can attest that the cleanliness standards here are solid.

Ok, so as much as we love Goldena's, I do have a couple of suggestions to improve an already great experience:

Invest in some durable, comfortable seating for the back yard - the night sky is such a huge part of what makes a trip like this memorable. The patio is covered, which is great, and has terrific views of the nearby rocky bluff. Some comfortable outdoor furniture would invite guests to spend more time outside in this great space.

And...add a dishwasher. LOL, we cooked a large steak dinner our first night and only afterwards did we realize there was no dishwasher - I know, it's a cabin! And neither of us are strangers to hand-washing dishes. However, in the name of staying true to a vacation I recommend a dishwasher down the line.

Honestly though, these are minor, perhaps petty, quibbles. Goldena's is a spacious, comfy and clean place to call home during a Southern Utah vacation - you'll be happy you stayed here!

Owner's Response: Thanks Christopher J. for the great review and five stars, considering your experience we appreciate it! Good suggestion regarding better seating in the back yard, we'll get some lounge type chairs so one could "kick back" and watch our bright beautiful stars at night. Thanks for the grill brush, the last one must have snuck off when we weren't looking.

Amazing house

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I go out to Kanab every year to volunteer with Best Friends and we have stayed in a different place each year it seems. And in all those places we were like the three bears too big, too small, but Goldena's Cabin felt just right. The size of the house was perfect and the amenities were great. We would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area. Dru and Bob left a welcome note for us and made sure everything was just right.

This should be called Goldena's PALACE

  • 5 of 5

The happy folks who wrote the review right below ours stole our thunder. This log home has more amenities than you can appreciate in a five day stay. We found out about Bob and Dru's place from a friend. We were happy to know that Kanab UT was centrally located between a weeks worth of exploration for first time Utah visitors.

The pictures and description do not really tell it all.

Aside from the...

large open floor plan, the tiled floors, leather sofa's, Direct TV, awesome bathroom, dimmers everywhere, central AC, gas wood-stove, games in the cupboard!, spices in another one, a well stocked bookshelf, extra towels, sheets and laundry tabs, charcoal grill, rabbits in the yard, really cool diffused lighting in the eaves of both front and back patios....

The most memorable moment was when a perfectly clear night offered up the Milky Way galaxy spanning from horizon to horizon right overhead. The icing on the cake!

Zion...Bryce....a drive on Route 12 from Bryce to Escalante, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon and Glen Canyon Dam are all between 45 and 90 minutes away and each one is amazing and different from the other. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary just outside of town should not be missed either.

Goldena's is an unbelievable home....being so close to so much made our vacation perfect beyond words.

The owners, Dru and Bob, are as great as everything else mentioned on this site. Stay at Goldena's.

Amazing 35th Anniversary Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We sadly just had to leave this home away from home. Amazing week taking in all that the Kanab area has to offer. The location is beautiful. The home is everything you could ask for. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. Having a stock of coffee, condiments, spices, oils, and so on is a huge plus. The home is not lacking anything! The views are amazing. Grocery stores in town have delicious chicken, pick some up and come home from your day trip and enjoy the back r front views. The location is quiet, but central to so many wonderful things to see and do. Do not miss the local trails. Many times we were the only ones hiking in the general area. The home is stocked with great books on the National Parks, and all that the general area has to offer. Do not miss out! The Direct TV is great, and you can rent movies in town, and come home and enjoy the wonderful living space. We hope to return some day and catch the areas that we just did not have time to see. Thank you Dru and Bob for your hospitality. It was a vacation to remember.

Beautiful cabin with all amenities!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Goldena's Cabin! Lots of room for a couple's or a family vacation. New and clean throughout. We spent hours just enjoying the views from both the front and the back porch. Very convenient location for many local hikes, tours, and day trips. So much beautiful scenery within a 2 hour drive! Owners were very helpful with local information and suggestions. Cabin is fully stocked and decorated for a stress-free and comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
