Comfortable, well-equipped one bedroom apartment

  • 5 of 5

Our second stay at Matt's lodging. Well appointed kitchen with top of the line appliances and marble countertops. Comfortable sitting room with good light for reading, which can be hard to find and flat screen tv.. Small(one sink)but highly functional bathroom with great hot water and great water pressure. King bedroom with flat screen tv and walk in closet. Apartment C is on the second floor and has lots of natural light and is as quiet as Charleston can be. Pet-friendly so we brought our shih-tzu who was a happy doggy. Unbelievable restaurants in the neighborhood-Hominy Grill across the street, Xiao Bao Biscuit a block away etc. The location is a little outside of the heart of the tourist district but you can still walk to most everywhere and the free trolleys to everything touristy are available at the visitors center which is a ten minute walk. Off street parking comes with your unit which is really necessary in this city. We will stay there again. Thank you Matt

Amazing Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Charleston. Matt's apartment was beautifully appointed; the photos on HomeAway do not do it justice. It was very spacious and clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable. The rest of the furniture was lovely as well. We dined out for most of our meals during stay, but the kitchen has everything you would need to cook any kind of meal.

The location is great, it is basically across the street from Hominy Grill, and just a 10 minute walk from King Street (lots of great restaurants and bars). For anything further away we took Ubers, which averaged in price of around $7.

We did have one small issue with the shower during our stay; and Matt was very responsive, he was there within the hour to fix it.

We do not have enough good things to say about this place, we loved every minute of our stay. We will definitely be back.

Very comfortable and great location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed one week in the condo. I liked the set up. Having a nice sized living room away from the bedroom allowed for one person to sleep while the other watched tv, like during election night. The laundry room was awesome. Parking is provided behind the house which made it safer. Also, condo C is in the rear which eliminated all street noise. The Hominey Grill, just across the street was very good and we ate there three times. Walked downtown several times, takes fifteen to twenty minutes and we are in our mid sixties. The visitors center is about a thirty minute walk. A car is necessary and convient to visit Plantations outside of town. We opted to get take out a couple of times and brought it back to the condo. Went to some Low Country ethnic restaurants and brought it back. Felt very safe walking. Most people were very friendly and don't be afraid to say hello. If you do a walking tour of Charleston, which we highly recommend, use Two Sisters, excellent, Mary Helen was awesome.

The owner will respond immediately to any problems. We needed down free cushions and he corrected the problem immediately. No five star but it's good four star.

Relaxing stay in Charleston

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing stay in Charleston at the Rutledge Inn apartment C. Although we didn't cook any meals here, it would have been very easy in the well equipped kitchen. The bedroom was a bit small but the bed was very comfortable. There were several restaurants close by. We ate dinner at Five Loaves, it was very good and just a short walk around the corner. We ate breakfast one morning at Hominy Grill. It was ok, but you must go for dessert and have the chocolate pudding. Unbelievably delicious! We took long walks around Charleston, especially the Market Street area. All in all a really nice getaway.
