Very well kept, really nice yard ...nice amenties; cable, wifi, appliances, etc... location is prime

We really enjoyed the place. Close to downtown and perfect for my wife and me; we both enjoy cycling and walking. Much preferred over the hotels available at similar rates. Matt the landlord responded to all my emails promptly and provided excellent details. Will recommend the place to any of my friends.

Another great stay!

Our son lives here and we visit often. Whenever we make our travel plans, we check to see if one of the 4 units at the Rutledge Inn is available. Every unit is clean, well appointed and has everything you need for a great stay. We are looking forward to coming back for Thanksgiving and staying in the cottage!

The property was spacious, clean and full of southern charm. Very walkable. Loved it!

The property was in a great location. We walked everywhere including King Street and the Battery. There is a great place for breakfast right across the street (Hominy Grill) and a very friendly bartender from Proof recommended Bao Biscuit Xiao for dinner. This was about a 2 minute walk and the food was amazing. The unit itself was spacious and full of southern charm. It appeared Matt took extra care to see we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We would definitely stay here again

Private, Quiet and Relaxing Stay

My husband and I had the privilege of staying at the Rutledge Inn for 4 nights. We lived in Charleston 28 years ago while my husband was stationed in the Navy and were married downtown. We had not been back since. What a nice surprise! The one bedroom (unit D) we stayed in was so spacious! Super clean and very nice decor. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and waking up every morning was peaceful. Loved the keyless entry. Beautiful kitchen and shower had awesome water pressure. washer and dryer was great to have as well. We loved the location. 3 restaurants just steps away and many more blocks away. we spent our days visiting the beaches Folly Beach and Isle of Palms and the evening eating at local restaurants and walking the battery and looking at all the amazing historical homes. Only one word of advice parking is in the rear and is very tight so bigger cars will have a little trouble maneuvering but it is doable and the home is well worth it. Would definitely stay at the Rutledge Inn again and recommend it to all our friends.

196 Rutledge Ave One Bedroom is well located Spacious Luxury.

We stayed for one week at the end of July 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed this well appointed high end one bedroom unit. It's location at 196 Rutledge Ave provides the opportunity for walking distances to several well reviewed area restaurants. If you prefer to eat in, the unit comes with a spacious kitchen making it enjoyable for any chef to prepare a gourmet meal. Many things not normally found in other units like coffee, all paper products needed, and laundry detergent are provided for in this unit. Speaking of laundry, there's a good sized separate room with a stacked washer and dryer and a large table with iron to handle all you cleaning needs. You"ll be able to relax with free WiFi throughout and a nice wall mounted cable HDTV in the living and bedroom area. The bedroom provides a comfortable king sized bed for a great nights sleep. The three fans and cold A/C will keep you cool and comfortable even during the hottest of Charleston's days. The unit is in a very safe and walkable area. It's well located making it an easy short drive or cab ride to enjoy all that historical Charleston has to offer. The owner Mr. Matt is on site to provide timely assistance with whatever questions or needs that may come up, but at the same time your privacy is always respected. Parking is available off street through a small ally in the rear of the building, so you should leave your extra large vehicles at home. We are looking forward to future stays in this fairly priced vacation rental when visiting Charleston. All should enjoy staying here and we would certainly recommend this one bedroom vacation unit in Downtown Charleston at 196 Rutledge Ave.

First impression "Wow, this place is nice"

My husband and I were celebrating our 1st Wedding anniversary and wanted something "upscale" for our Charleston visit, but affordable, Matt's "apartment" was perfect- clean, modern, so much room, washer/dryer and the king sized bed was super comfy. The location was great, we brought our own bikes and unless we were going to one of the beaches, we rode or walked everywhere, so convienent to the heart of Charleston. We never felt uncomfortable in the neighborhood, a few nights we walked back from King Street after dark, never a problem. Also the neighboring houses were also very well kept up, which is not always the case outside of historic Charleston , which also makes this rental exceptional. Having your own parking space was an extra bonus, they are small, but we have a Mini Cooper, so no problem there. We were fortunate to meet Matt upon our arrival, very nice and accommodating, we will definitely be back.
