About the property

The Blue House, is a pretty 4 bed cottage, in its own private garden of 2 acres. The house has been completely refurbished. It has fabulous sea views over the Western Solent with a woodland walk down to the beach. It has been featured in Coast magazine.

Located in the village of Gurnard on the Isle of Wight 'The Blue House' has four bedrooms overlooking the garden, a large contemporary living area with vaulted ceiling with a glass and Oak gable looking directly over the sea, and a wrap around deck with fabulous views over to the New Forest and the famous sunset.

The bedrooms all feature luxurious beds with cotton sheets and all natural feather and goose down duvets and pillows, the master bedroom has a large en suite bathroom and glass doors that open on to the deck and the romantic sea view.

The 'big' room has a spacious kitchen and large sitting room with a log fire.

Hi Tim,

A hearty thanks from Elaine and myself............ The Blue House proved to be an excellent place to stay. You have done a great job in remodelling the place and I am sure you will enjoy full bookings for many seasons to come.

Best regards,

Peter and Elaine

Owner's Response: Great to get another nice review! Now the winters here its time to think about those wild cliff top walks, great pub lunches and then coming back to tea and the log fire. Wildlife is still vibrant especially the red squirrels hunting for food. There must be more bridleways and seaside walking/cycling per square mile on the island than anywhere else in Britain.

Excellent location, spacious comfortable house with beautiful garden

  • 5 of 5

Loved the house which accommodated five adults, one toddler and a dog with ease. Garden was perfect for everybody. Path to the beach should be approached with care.

There are few houses we have rented where we would wish to return but this is one we would all happily stay in again. Better even than the photographs which is rare.

Owner's Response: Its great to hear, thanks so much. Im planning on making a new path down through the woods this winter, it will take a more direct path. For those who have trouble using steps etc then the other route via the public footpath will always be a good alternative. We'd love to have you again. TIm

Superb.

Great location, spacious and quiet yet not far from the beach. The children loved the trampoline and the garden to run around in. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and good quality.

Love it

  • 5 of 5

This house and it's location are wonderful - hence going back 4 years in a row. The only improvement would be to have a good location to dry clothes after sailing etc but I believe the owners are looking in to this.

I thoroughly recommend this house to anyone. We take bikes and cycle in to Cowes or just walk down for a swim at Gurnard beach.

We'll be back.

Lovely property, garden & location

  • 5 of 5

Family holiday was perfect in this lovely house in Gurnard. Met all our requirements and more. Great walks, visits to the beach, to Cowes for end of the regatta, the Fastnet, gorgeous meals out and BBQs in the garden overlooking the Solent.
