About Debra Varner

We love our home in South Carolina! Having family nearby, we share meals and good times together. We live in San Francisco, also a beautiful place, but when we go to our So. Carolina home, we simply feel the stress of the everyday life melt away no matter what time of year. We have spent all the seasons and all are equally beautiful. We love beach combing, meeting and sharing a meal with our neighbors and lazing on the decks with a good book in the heat of the day. Family members visit and we take in the local catch of the day - the shrimp, clams, oysters and crab that our brother-in-law catches himself! We want you to enjoy our home as much as we do.

Why Debra Varner chose Beaufort area

My husband is from So. Carolina and all his family is nearby. We knew we needed to have our own home to share with family and friends. We were fortunate to find this special place that brings such joy.

What makes this house unique

We love the food, beaches, shopping, neighbors and quiet that makes us feel rejuvenated at the end of a stay.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We stayed in this house for a week and did not want to leave! We had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Thanks so much for the pet friendly home, it is great to be able to bring our dogs because they are a part of the family. We enjoyed Hunting Beach and trips into Beaufort. We do plan to return next year."

Beautiful hidden getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at Las Brisas. The house was clean and quiet. The yard was perfect for the dog and the kids enjoyed exploring and watching the wildlife. My husband especially enjoyed the rooftop deck. The nearby beach was wonderful, and so was the Hunting Island Park beach. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Nice Private Relaxing Home

  • 5 of 5

This was a great week for us with good weather and a clean comfortable house to stay in. It was quiet and private, with great views of the marsh and beautiful woods. There were no bugs to be found even though it was beside the marsh, which we thought was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and house was very comfortable. Loved the beach at Hunting Island and the pass was a big plus. The wifi is fast, all appliances that you could need were there and the fact that the owners allow pets helped us decide on this home. We have stayed in the general area before and this house is a good choice.

Wonderful vacation in a great home

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I spent a week at Debra's house at the end of a dirt road with our 3 dogs. It was so relaxing to just walk 5 minutes to the beach with the dogs or sit on one of the decks or screened in porch and look over the marsh, listen to the birds and chill. We saw rabbits, deers and a lot of squirrels which the dogs went crazy for. The house was well equipped including the kitchen. It was clean and we had no complaint. The wifi was a little slower than what we are used to because it's a DSL (not the owner's fault, apparently Beaufort lacks in that domain) and we live in a big city where fiber optic internet is the norm. It was adequate to surf the web but streaming music was a little more tedious. That was ok to me as we should spend our time doing something else. The beds were comfortable, it didn't take a manual to use the tv....it was just great. Debra was responsive to the few concerns we had. As I said, we'll be back.

Nice comfortable house in a private, pretty setting with great marsh view and good close beaches

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation week at Las Brisas was truly enjoyable and relaxing. The breeze and the birds were almost the only sounds we heard. We enjoyed the view from the observation deck 30ft. above the ground. Several times a day we walked the short distance to the private beach on the St. Helena Sound which was very nice and not at all crowded. This neighborhood is charming with its large lots, narrow lanes and Live Oak canopy shading your walk. We also took the short drive to Hunting Island every day to have fun in the surf.

The house is spacious, very clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The 4 acre lot has a lot of Live Oaks, Palms and Magnolia Trees. We have vacationed in the Beaufort/St Helena area for many years and will certainly return to Las Brisas.
