About Philip Klitzke

My wife Jody and I are 50+ self employed Information Technology professionals working in the Twin Cities. We love to travel, swim, canoe, kayak, run, bike and other out door activities. We have five grown children, one grand daughter (4), and another grand baby on the way. We and our 100 # yellow lab (Sam) have enjoyed the cabin these past years. Sam loves to retrieve any thing thrown off the dock. We have purposefully made the cabin 'dog friendly'. We find great satisfaction renting our home to families, friends, groups that need a large, accommodating lake home that is near the twin cities. We really enjoy reading the stories in the guest book. We hope you'll consider our lake home for your vacation plans.

Philip Klitzke purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Philip Klitzke chose Minnesota

We bought this cabin because of the water front, and located on the Cross Lake, Snake River, Pokegama water system. There are lots of activities nearby or just snuggle by the gas fireplace with a good book.

What makes this cabin unique

Lots of space! Open dining, living, kitchen area affords great mingling of a large family gathering. Lots to do for kids or adults. The master bedroom suite with it's own closet and bathroom provides intimacy even when there's a crowd in the house.

An expansive deck extends the openness to outside during the spring-fall seasons. Cool breezes off the lake keep it refreshing even in the hottest summer days. Air conditioning has been installed for those really hot days of summer.

Perfect vacation getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying at this cabin!! The inside is great - it has all the space you need! The rocking chairs inside were amazing, as well as all of the windows in the upstairs living room!! The large deck over looking the water is gorgeous!! There is also lots of seating inside and out! The cabin has a beautiful landscaped path down to the lake. There is sand to play in, a dock, awesome fit pit and a shack that holds fun stuff for the water. We had a relaxing and adventure filled trip and will definitely be coming back in the future!! The owners were very kind and responsive!!

AMAZING!!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here over Memorial Weekend to celebrate my bachelorette party. As a large group we found the accommodations to be perfect! Plenty of beds and couches for everyone to be comfortable and the three bathrooms were ideal. We spent most of our time on the wrap around deck that also had plenty of seating for everyone. Sunset at the dock was beautiful and the landscaping was gorgeous. We loved this property for its space but also location. It was only an hour and half away from the cities and also close to a local bar and casino. We enjoyed everything about our weekend here and will definitely look into renting this cabin again!

Thank you Philip!

Great property & location for a fun getaway!

  • 4 of 5

A group of friends and I rented this cabin for a yearly winter getaway we like to do! This cabin was the perfect location for us, only an hour and a half outside of the twin cities, and right by Grand Casino Hinckley. The cabin itself was very nice! Nice bedrooms and bathrooms and a nice large common space on the main floor. We loved using the bonfire pit at night! The couches were very comfortable and there was a nice big dining room table for games and eating. The only cons I would say to this cabin would be how cold it was when we first got there (the temp was 55 degrees), so it took almost 3 hours to heat up to a comfortable temperature for all of us. We also were unaware that there were no blankets available, so we did not bring any and that got pretty chilly at night for those who slept on the couch. The WiFi did not work for any of us either, so we had pretty spotty coverage. Otherwise we had a fantastic vacation, lots of cooking and games played and it comfortably fit all of us for a weekend we will definitely remember!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feed back. Previous guests had soiled the extra blankets. The cleaning server took them to a laundry service and did not return in time for this guests stay. We also had preventative maintenance done to the circuit breaker box which apparently disrupted the wifi. The wifi was reset and now functions properly. There are extra blankets, and the wifi works. We'll make arrangements to ensure the house is warm in the winter and cool in the summer before guests arrive.
