Hesitate no more...

It's got everything you're looking for in Connemara. It's also an excellent base to visit the area. It was a very quiet and nice place to rest in after long days out.

The description is accurate. The house was clean, comfortable, well equipped and lovely. We received plenty of information and recommendations by mail and we had a nice welcome. I would definitely recommend this house to a friend.

All my family keeps excellent memories of our summer holiday in Connemara.

The perfect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a house to stay in Connemara, we saw quite a few which we liked, but after having seeing Tom’s house we instantly knew: this is the one we would like to stay in!

After having contacted Tom by mail to make sure that the house is available, I had a very nice phone conversation with him, he explained everything to me and answered my questions in a very open way.

When we arrived, Mary was already waiting, explained everything to us and she was very helpful during our stay when we had questions. Tom’s house was exactly in the advertised state, very clean, which is in our opinion one of the most important points, very spacious, very well equipped. Once in a while a car passes the house, otherwise the area is very quite. We very much liked the view onto the near lake and the colourful mountains of Connemara.

Tom’s house is an ideal staring point for exploring the Galway area. There is so much to see!

Thank you, Tom and Mary, we had a wonderful stay and we would definitely like to stay here again and would recommend it to our friends without hesitation!

Perfect place for a relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I spend two weeks in Tom's house in April/May 2015. It was great. Everything was working fine, the kitchen was well equipped, the house was really clean and roomy. The surrounding was great as well, we enjoyed the view on the lake and on the sheeps. It is really silent there, even the garage in the direct neighborhood didn't meet our ears. There is a outdoor grill with gas available that we used very often.Tom and his family were very friendly and helpful, trying to be perfect hosts. The location is perfect for starting tours, many attractions are really close. Clifden is a small town, ten kilometers away from the house, where you can buy everything you need; there are some supermarkets, a bakery and several butchers. We can really recommend Irland and Connemara and we also can recommend a stay in Tom's house.

Ireland you did it for us!

  • 5 of 5

After seeing Tom's house and falling in love with everything we saw and read from previous guests, we couldn't wait to stay here. We really weren't disappointed either. Tom made us feel very welcome before and after, keeping in touch and offering to help with any holiday requirements.... thank you! It's a lovely new spacious house with everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one. There were clean towels and bedding and milk in the fridge on arrival, always good for when you're in desperate need of a cuppa! The house is about 15 minutes to Clifden for shops, Aldi and Supervalu, pubs, restaurants and more. A lovely butcher and cafe on the High Street.

For us though it was all about the spectacular views, firstly from the house..the ever changing colours on the mountains never failed to amaze us. We walked up Diamond Hill, it was busy, took us two hours but well worth it. We visited Kylemore Abbey...again, worth the trip. We went to Inishbofin from Cleggan on the ferry...you can walk around the Island, there's not much there but worth the visit if you like walking as there's a beautiful beach. A drive to Claddaghduff to walk across to Omey Island, again nothing really there but stunning views. Dogs Bay is another gorgeous beach, great for rockpooling. Our favourite walk was up Cleggan Hill, you can park at the Farmhouse rental cottages and walk up, there isn't much of a path but makes it fun trekking up! The 360 degree panoramic view from the top is BREATHTAKING. There's a lovely little cove over the other side of the hill that is worth a walk to, If it had have been warmer we would have swam there. All in all we had a wonderful time and was made all the better by going back each evening to a lovely house.

Relaxing, comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 weeks at Tom's home and thoroughly enjoyed it. The home is lovely and comfortable and the scenery was beautiful. We even got to see a triple rainbow out the front over the lake one day. We have absolutely no complaints and would stay there again without hesitation.

Lovely home in Moyard

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful home for two weeks. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Mary, the caretaker of this property. She was lovely to deal with, showing us how to operate everything and even giving us information on places to visit in the area. The house is everything the website shows it to be. The décor is very pleasing to the eye, with artwork hanging throughout. The living room has a fireplace which we used our first night there. Very romantic setting. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals in. My husband and I had our breakfast at the house each day, looking out at the lake and listening to the sheep bleating in the meadow across the way. There is a walk-in shower off the master bedroom. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with great built in closets, including shelves. Makes it easier to select clothing for your next Irish adventure! In the back of the house, up a set of stairs, is a seating area with picnic table. The views from up there are magnificent. You can see the 12 Bens Mountain Range. If you are looking for peace, quiet and relaxation this is the house for you. It is only a 15 minute drive to the town of Clifden. Clifden has everything you need to fill the refrigerator for your stay, as well as convenient ATMs, gasoline and great pubs. Visit Lowry's Pub on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. for live traditional Irish music. You won't be disappointed. Mitchell's Restaurant was excellent. In the other direction from the house is Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Both worth visiting. We also took a ferry from Cleggan to Innisbofin Island. Don't miss out on these sights. Tom designed a very nice home away from home. He will answer any questions that you may have about the property and the area. He is a very accommodating owner. We are glad that we selected this home for our vacation. We had a lovely stay. Thanks again, Tom!

Moyard is a rural town-land situated 5 miles from Clifden, the capital of Connemara, and 3 miles from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park and 5 miles from Kylemore Abbey on the N59. Many visitors find Moyard a central point from which to tour and enjoy Connemara. Moyard is also 5 miles from Cleggan village and the gateway to Inishbofin Island. The scenery in North West Connemara is a breathtaking and ever-changing landscape of majestic mountains, spectacular beaches, prehistoric bogs and mist covered lakes. Moyard is at the heart of this scenery and within these acres of scenery there is a choice of activities, places to visits, shops, modern conveniences, restaurants and lively pubs. Sandy beaches, mountains, walks, horse riding. Our house overlooks a lake and is situated on a quiet road with stunning views over Garrenbaun lake and still not far away from all the amenities.

Golf: Connemara Golf course is under a half hour drive from the house and it is a 26 hole links course situation beside beautiful white beaches perfect for walking. The club house with restaurant/bar on the top floor is the perfect place to meet up after a round of golf.

The latest visitor attraction in the area is the Wild Atlantic Way - http://www.failteireland.ie/wildatlanticway - a great name to describe our rugged coastline and its beauty.
