Perfect for an Extended Family or Group

We rented this house for the weekend for a family wedding in town. Overall, we were very pleased! The the whole house was very clean, bedrooms were comfortable, plenty of bedding, and the kitchen was well equipped. Big beautiful home on lots of acreage, and since it was August, there were ripe blackberries on the bushes out behind the house. It was just 10 minutes into downtown Mt. Vernon. We even found a plate of fresh homemade scones upon our arrival!

perfect local!

Usually the photos of rental properties are much nicer than the actual home. Not so in this fact, the pictures don't do this beautiful home justice!

In July, several family members from all over the US were converging in the area for a family wedding. We needed a house big enough to accommodate us all, that was centrally located to the wedding ceremony, reception and family in south Seattle. We didn't have a lot of options since there were so many of us. This property seemed to fit the bill for our size and location requirements, though we were certain it wasn't as lovely as it appeared. But it was so much more than we expected. We all fit very comfortably, with plenty of room to gather as a large group for meals etc, yet still enough space for us all to have some privacy throughout the week. The house was beautifully decorated...really special, unexpected touches throughout that we enjoyed discovering during our stay. Typically a house "staged" so beautifully feels stuffy and formal, making you afraid to touch anything... this house however felt like "home". It was warm, gracious and inviting. Certainly some of that was due to the surrounding natural beauty...gorgeous views of Mt. Baker, deer, soaring Eagles and Sienne's amazing flowers!! Some of the cozy feeling was because of the beauty of the house itself and Sienne's eye for decorating. And some of it was because of the warm hospitality from Sienne and her family...they took care of every need yet left us to enjoy our week. We couldn't have had a better location for our reunion and celebration! You would NOT be disappointed in staying fact, you may never want to leave!

Many thanks to Sienne and her family for their patience (when some family members plans changed due to illness), hospitality and for sharing their gorgeous home with us. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations and made for a memorable trip.

Lovely house in beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 11 staying overnight during the Ride to Conquer Cancer. We loved the house! Sufficient space if anyone wants privacy, but very comfortable meeting areas as well for a big group, including the deck and sitting areas. Nice clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely, spacious kitchen. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We would love to be back next year! The BBQ on the deck did it for us:-)

Beautifully designed and decorated home in stunning location - with lots of individual touches

  • 5 of 5

We stayed this past weekend at the vacation home for a "girls weekend" to run the Half Marathon in Seedro Wooley on Saturday.

The house has an amazing design and layout and is located in beautiful surroundings. It is decorated with much love and taste and attention to detail. It was impeccably clean and comfortable.

Even cookies and a note and coffee on the kitchen counter! :) How nice.

There were 5 of us staying at the house. The layout is just perfect to gather and visit as a group, but also allows a person to get away if desred. I pesonally enjoyed the loft with all of the books. Started to read one of them.

Beautiful home with so many nice touches! We might be back for a family reunion.

Owner's Response: Hi, Thank you "girls" for staying at our place, we were happy to have you stay. Thank you also for taking your time to reply with such nice comments on our place, we love it there! Sorry about the VERY rainy late winter, early spring weather for your run on Saturday, a surprise after how beautiful Friday was for your arrival! Sounds like you all had a great time any way. You have inspired me to get back to running again with your invitation to join you! Thank you. We would love to have you back for your family reunion, so nice to meet all of you. Take care and run on! Sincerely, The owners

Wedding family

  • 5 of 5

We needed a place for my daughters wedding party as we live three hours away. The owners were very accomodating offering us to preview their home in May. The home is perfect for a large number of guests giving privacy when needed and room enough for those who want to stay all together. We rented this home for three nights...two before the wedding. We had alot of prep work to do and coming back to this location took away the stress for all of us. Mornings were spent gathered on the large deck enjoying the views with coffee. It was such a surprise to walk in and find a card for the bride and groom with a bottle of wine. Because of the comfortable feeling there we decided it would be where the bride and 5 bridesmaids would gather to get ready. This home is perfect for family reunions, girls getaway, or a few couples to reconnect and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Owner's Response: Hello there, Thank you very much for the review on our vacation rental. We are very happy that our place worked out so well for your family for the wedding party to stay. Please keep us in mind if you would have friends or other relatives who might be interested in our place for their wedding accommodations or another get together. We have packages for couples only, bed & breakfast, anniversaries and honeymoons where opening are available. Our property also makes a great place for the actual wedding ceremony as well. The acreage, views, and option to use the large home for accommodations while holding a beautiful out door wedding, makes our property a great venue. Thank you very much, property owners

Architecture, Ambience & Amiability = A+ great vacation

We held our family reunion here. Up to 9 family members stayed here--with another 10+ visiting for an evening dinner. Firstly)- the pictures do not do the home justice--it was even more intimate, more private & with an even more gorgeous view!!; secondly)-the house has been built to provide privacy for different sets of the family while at the same time encourage and allow for groups (or sub-sets---you know how reunions go!) to get together & comfortably hang out; thirdly)-the owners (really the whole family) were accommodating, helpful & just available when we had a question, yet afforded us our privacy; fourthly)-the grounds were immaculate & well-maintained -- pretty yet accessible enough for my son to complete a soccer workout!; lastly)-close to unique towns and markets and bars, but still tucked away behind trees up against the hills overlooking the lake. We have stayed in the area before--paid twice as much (dont tell the owners!) and didnt have as a comfortable a time. It accommodated by 88 year old mother, my 16 year old son & a converted a whole slew of grumpy relatives into relaxed and jovial family members. Recommended highly.

Owner's Response: Thank you so very much for taking the time to give us a review! We are so glad that you ALL enjoyed your time at our place at the lake. The summer has been busy for us with wedding parties staying at our place, family reunions, guy fishing trips, and others. Perhaps because we do not book on line, we have not had people actually take the time to go back and write a review. So thank you ever so much! Hope we see you again some time. Happy Fall and Winter to you all, enjoy more family time! :^)
