Great location just a short walk from beach, nice clean pool on property very relaxing
Like a Beautiful private villa
was perfect for every beach activity one could desire. The pool was perfect to sit and relax morning and evening as well. The common area also provided a great place to sit and talk with friends and neighbors. Only 4 cottages, made it seem very private. Was our first visit to St George Island and definitely returning to be a beach bum for a week again.
Love the beach access, Wish I could give more than 5 stars
Location is great, right across the street from beach access. Cottage was spotless. Perfect for a relaxed simple get away. Pool had nice nooks for seating. Bed was super comfortable. Island is dog friendly, made me sorry we didn't bring ours.
Great get away
Great weekend place. Owner was easy to work with. Would stay again.
Rest and Relaxation
Excellent location, weather was great, I met many friendly people on my 4 mile walks each day, fun at Paddy's "Pink Pig Trophy" BBQ contest, and peaceful beach. Bobby, my umbrella cockatoo, also made many friends on our walks and at Paddy's.
We will be back!
Quiet place to relax across street from beach
With 2 bedrooms and 1 bath this worked out well for me and my sister. Pool was a nice size and clean. I will say they don’t need all of the pool furniture they have out there. It gets in the way of accessing the laundry area- which is nice to have. I would stay here again. It had everything we needed.
St. George Island is truly paradise on a barrier island, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and the Apalachicola Bay. The island provides peace and quiet unparallelled with pristine white-sand beaches, calming ocean waves, uncongested natural beauty.
The island is a fisherman's dream. Sheepshead, speckled trout, flounder, whiting, redfish, shark and tripletail in the bay; snapper, grouper, amberjack, sea bass, mackerel, mahi-mahi, cobia and sharks in the gulf. Cast a rod from the shore, mine the flats, or head out to sea!
The area provides some of the best oysters in the world; steamed, grilled, in chowder and bisque, or simply on the half shell. Shrimp any way you want it. Prepare your own meal or sample the delicacies at the local bar / grill or nearby restaurant.
There is so much for the family to do! Miles of bike paths, excursions to uninhabited islands, kids fishing trips, dolphin-spotting, kayak adventures, migratory bird watching, star-gazing and hiking at the State Park, church services. You may see sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs! Stop at the visitor center and take a picture of the newly reconstructed lighthouse, the Cape St. George Light. Travel about the island by bicycle, scooter, or golf cart. The library is across the bridge and a golf course available by drive to St James.
There is a variety of musical entertainment at local nightspots and restaurants. Bands most nights, Karioke some nights, talent shows occasionally.
The are is host to galleries, boutiques, jewelry stores, emporiums of spices and beachwear.
The community invites you to get involved. Yacht Club, book chat, exercise classes, quilters' klatch, bridge groups, Civic Club, Circle of Friends, yoga sessions, bicycling and golfing groups. Chili Cookoff in March.
