The cottage was exactly as described. Very cute, quaint little cottage. Quiet street. Extremely easy check in! But further from downtown than I liked. Just a couple of things to “fix”. The water pressure in shower is horrendous. Worst I have ever experienced. Also, I would splurge on a new mattress in first bedroom. I could feel the springs and mattress made me roll to middle.
All in all, it was good enough for a few days in Savannah. We enjoyed the city very much.
Perfect place to stay had parking no problems would definitely recommend this cottage if your staying in Savannah
This was a very quaint cottage. It gave you a period feel with most needs met. It would be tight for four people but was fine for my husband and I. I used the second bedroom for my suitcase. The off street parking was great as street parking is difficult to obtain, especially on the weekend. It was inconvenient to run through the house to unlock the back gate. This was described well in the instructions. The back porch was wonderful for evening and sipping wine. The bathroom mirror was very high and I'm only 5'. There wasn't a good place to do my hair or makeup, Easy self check in. We would consider this again.
Perfect location lovely house
We enjoyed our stay in Savanah and in this lovely little house! It is well kept and clean. Comfortable beds and linens. It is an easy walk into the historic district or a couple blocks to the park where you can catch a bus if you don’t want to walk. We felt safe and very comfortable. TheONLY reason it was not a 5 star rating is that we could not get the WIFI to work.
We wanted it to be more...
Let me explain why we are only rating this cottage a 3-star stay, as this is not our typical rating. First, when we arrived, there was no house book or FAQ sheet that would tell us – while on property – what the wireless name and password were, what to do with the linens when we ready to depart, what to do with the trashes, dishes, how to leave the heating/cooling, etc. Let me be clear, some of those things were sent in an email two weeks ahead of our trip, but you must click on the link within the email (labeled Access Your Rental) to gain access to a document that – like I said – only had a few of those things listed, not all. We assumed that the link was timed with our arrival and if we clicked on the link ahead of our check-in, we’d be charged. This is different than any other VRBO we’ve stayed in. Secondly, the cable channels were maybe four deep at best, and they were the local channels along with QVC and HSN. So, if you like the local news (we don’t) or you want to stay inside and shop online (we didn’t), then this is for you. When we called the management company about this issue and we never received a response. We also had to call back to inquire about what to do with trash we accumulated during our stay and what to do with used towels and used glassware. They have a washer/dryer unit in the kitchen, but no laundry detergent; therefore, we couldn’t even do our own laundry, much less the laundry that was there. The master bedroom bed was a nightmare. I’m questioning whether or not this bed is truly a queen bed, because it looked and felt more like a full bed (it was NOT the one in the picture). Not to mention, the bed is horribly uncomfortable, indented in the middle and bouncy. Both of us woke up with back and neck pain, in addition to rolling into each other all night long – I implore the owners to “splurge” on a comfortable bed. That is a luxury for those on vacation…to sleep well. Also, more water pressure is needed in the shower – I’m not entirely sure if this is related to the house being older or what, but it wasn’t good. I would also invest in dead bolts or something from the inside to lock both doors as this home is not in the best neighborhood. The code is nice to have for entering, but once you’re in, it would be more comforting to have a lock from the inside to secure yourself more. I will say that we ended up checking out early and were happy to receive our late check out deposit back after asking for it upon departure.
Loved the cottage, beautiful decorations, very old school feel but with modern conveniences.
Very comfortable and lovely—backyard was perfect and very private. No emergency needs but for next guests—didn’t find a kitchen sink drain cover or a bathtub drain plug. We had a great time and I thought the cottage was beautiful!
