Guestbook comments from the manager

Yes I did make a mistake I later found out what I did wrong. I was willing to work with the party but they were unwilling. The pond is fill with Irrigation water rights.Which run from mid april till mid oct depenting on the snow pack. This time of year the pond is at it lowest. But it dose bring alot of water fowl, that you don,t see later in the year. Yes the picture were taken in the summer when everything looks its best. Most people realy enjoy this special place and come back year after year. We been renting this cabin since 1995. Thank you for the review it keeps us on our toes the Jeffers

Lovely and peaceful setting!

  • 5 of 5

Even though we visited while it was quite smokey from the forest fires, we had a wonderful and relaxing visit. The location is perfectly peaceful and we found the cabin equipped with everything we needed to cook at home as well as stay cool during some really warm days. Our dogs loved running through the open fields in the morning and in the evening. We were surprised at how close it was to the town of Sisters because we really felt like we were way out there while at the house so it really was the best of both worlds. We ventured into Sisters to check out a festival and the brewery and we drove to Bend for a birthday dinner. Both were very easy trips. I would love to stay in this place again once the smoke clears as the setting is truly lovely.

Retro heaven

  • 5 of 5

We just wanted a place to beat the eclipse traffic, but are so glad we found this idyllic spot. It's the original homestead from the 40's with some improvements, well maintained but with character intact. It's in high desert but surrounded by lawn with shade trees in the front. Large sunny kitchen, nice bedroom, spacious living room. Decorated in period style with modern amenities like A/C. We wanted to move in. The swimmable pond provides onsite recreation. Cute boathouse and shared kayaks are handy. Views of Sisters mountain and Black Butte grace the distance out the l.r. window beyond the pond. Our dog was free to roam and loved it. Gail and Don pull the whole experience together with their relaxed hospitality. They are there when you want company or need anything, but you are private in your own house & yard otherwise. We were sorry to leave and will be back.

Quiet property in the countryside

  • 4 of 5

This very low key property suited our needs for a place near Sisters that was quiet and comfortable. The house was supplied with all of the necessities for our 3 day stay. On the day when the heat hit the high 90s we turned on the A/C unit and the place cooled right down. The house and property were a great place to decompress and enjoy the views!
