About Jeremy Baker

We got married in Maui in 2007 and have been back every year since, except 2009 when our daughter was born. Our love and admiration for Maui influenced us to purchase our Kihei Kai Nani condo and we couldn't be happier. We've always enjoyed sharing our Maui photos and videos and telling stories of our Maui adventures. We now look forward to sharing our home and helping our guests capture the same love of Maui and understanding that Maui No Ka Oi...'Maui is the Best!'

Jeremy Baker purchased this condo in 2012

Why Jeremy Baker chose Maui

Previously, each time we visited Maui, we stayed in Kaanapali. However, with its abundance of great beaches, we always spent most of our time in South Maui. One of our favorite locations is South Kihei along the stretch of Kama'ole Beaches. Great beaches, a wide selection of restaurants and shops all within walking distance make this the ideal location.

The wife and I spent 2 glorious weeks at Jeremy's place. We found everything to be just as Jeremy said it was. The condo was comfy, well taken care of and best of all, a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. The only draw back during our stay was the daily 6am alarm, the garbage truck, then the food truck then the beer wagon. We didn't go to Maui to sleep in so it really was no bother, but it was there. Will be go back to Kehie Kai Nani? Most definitely.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review Roger and Linda! Being so close to the beach also means we do get some morning noise from nearby restaurants. However, as with you, our guests aren't bothered by any morning noise as they are usually already up and making that short walk to the beach or to grab breakfast and coffee from nearby restaurants and cafes! It was a great pleasure to share our home with you and we hope you can return to Maui soon!

Great place to stay in Kihei! Maui no ka oi!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Jeremy`s apartment in Kihei. We had plenty of room staying there with our 4-year-old son and had all the equipment we needed. We did not really mind the early morning garbage removals as we were up early with our son anyway. Some of Maui`s best beaches are close by and the grounds are very well tended for. We would and hopefully can definitely come back to stay here in the future. Thanks, Jeremy for the uncomplicated arrangements. Mahalo and a hui hou, Tobias and family

Great location and excellent host!

  • 4 of 5

We're a family of three and we chose this condo primarily on the price, location and last minute availability for the season (late Aug). Jeremy was very quick to respond and very helpful, pro-active and friendly, helping us with tips for figuring out island logistics, food shopping and so on.

The condo was great for our needs. A short walk to the beach (1 minute) and convenient for everything. We''ve grown very fond of Kam 2 beach over all the others. :-) The Kihei Kai Nani complex (or whatever you call it) was helpful (main office) and their pool was a real plus for our son, who learned to get comfortable there and had way more fun in the ocean as a result. The pool was never crowded and everyone friendly.

The unit was in great shape, good amenities for the price, and a comfortable bed. No view of the ocean, but with it so close by, it doesn't really matter. There were lots of summer reading books, board games for our little guy, and an acoustic guitar, which was a really nice surprise. With both doors open in the late afternoon or evening, a nice cool breeze kept us comfortable. We rarely used the air con.

If you're looking for food shopping within walking distance, we'd recommend the organic food store, which actually had pretty reasonable prices called Half Moon or something like that, on South Kihei Road, just a block or two up. Best food of the trip within walking distance was Cafe O Lei for dinner. Worst was Bistro 808 for breakfast, give that a pass.

The beaches are beautiful and an early morning trip before the wind picks up is key. We saw lots of turtles in the water right from shore, and this beach seemed fairly tame for the season (Aug/Sept) for swimming as we did laps of it in the morning and even in the late afternoon.

We'll definitely book again!

Thanks very much for welcoming us into your condo, Jeremy. Mahalo.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your excellent review Peter! We are very happy that you had such a great time visiting Maui. We agree, 808 Bistro is not one of the restaurants we visit when we are on island, but 808 Deli next to it has the best sandwiches on the island. The Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods store is great! Good selection of organic and vegetarian items and they have a really good salad and hot food bar. They just recently completed a renovation as they moved into the space next door that was a sports bar, so they now have more room to carry more products. Thanks again for the great review and we hope you can return to Maui soon!

This place has everything you need. During our stay in late August the humidity was much greater than usual and without the normal trade winds the heat was stifling but the A/C and fans were a life saver. The bedroom at night was still warm but very bearable. The condo is very well appointed with all the things you need to cook with and containers to store your leftovers. We also loved the availability of the beach chairs and umbrella and boogie boards. They worked awesome for us. Saved us from renting them for a week. There is even a variety of cooler options too for your beach excursions. The wifi worked well too. The location is the best we have had in three trips to the island. Having Moose's/Fred's right next door was super convenient. Don't worry as there was no excessive noise at night from these places. Kihei is still pretty sleepy after 10 or 11pm except for the section of 5-6 bars by the Foodland down the road which was only a 15-20 minute walk. The 808 Deli is also next door which was great for a lunch to take to the beach. The pool looked nice but we didn't use it. Pretty hard to boogie board and snorkel in there. It is located right across the street from Kam II beach and a very short walk from the very impressive Kam I/Charlie Young beach. All of these options are fabulous as are so many beaches in Maui. We saw two turtles our second day on Kam II. Btw, you can and will see turtles at any beach in Maui. We highly recommend Keawakapu beach down the road toward Wailea. You can walk forever and it is very beautiful with a gentle slope and calmer waves. We really had no serious issues with unit. It was the best all around place we've stayed at to date. A perfect home base for your stay in Kihei. Thank you Jeremy and family! Mahalo!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your great, indepth review Tyler! This year was unusual as there were several large storms that got near the islands. Even though they didn't hit Maui directly, they shut down those trade winds making it unusually warm and humid this summer. We thank you for allowing us to share our home with you and hope you and your wife can return to the "Valley Isle" soon!

Great Place to stay and vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is an excellent condo in a great location. The property is on the main floor with a parking spot a few steps away. The property has everything for appliances including a dish washer. They provide beach towels and lawn chairs which means you need to pack less when you come to Maui. Upon arrival we were provided with easy instructions and had no problems when we arrived late at night at 11 pm. The wifi worked well and has a strong signal. It is 1-2 minute walk across the street to see the sunsets. There are many beaches close by and we went as far south as Big Beach. We found a spot close to the condo 200 yards south that has a cove and it had great snorkeling to see coral, fish and turtles. Keep the go-pro handy. It never rained once. We used the pool one afternoon and the area is kept very clean. Foodland is close by for grocery shopping. We checked out some of the other nearby beaches. Just north there is park that had many people learning to surf. Fun to watch but I am to old to do it. There are several restaurants just north and south of the condo. Just North of the complex there are several small shops to purchase whatever you need. We would relax in the evening and watch the Olympics. We have stayed in Oahu twice. It is our first time to Maui, we would stay at this condo again, and we probably will be back. We really like our stay in Kihei, it is very laid back. The owner refunded our damage deposit right away. They seemed to have everything covered to help make your stay relaxing and no hassles.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review Dean and it was a pleasure hosting your visit to Maui! The area between Kamaole II and Kamaole III Beaches is a great place to snorkel and we always seem to run into a turtle while we are there. The park where people surf is called Cove Park, which is a great place for beinners...and you're never too old to learn how to surf! Warmest Mahalo and we look forward to having you back for you next trip to the "Valley Isle!"
