The drive up the hill to the cabin was stunning! The cabin itself was super clean and very cute. Kitchen had everything we needed and my kids rediscovered their love for the wi. Our time in the area, was filled with fun things to do and great people to talk with. Will definitely visit again!

Wonderful long weekend

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our small Dachshund visited over July 4th weekend. The Elk Crossing Cabin was very nice, furnished well and very comfortable. We had light, intermittent rain each day during our stay. However, the rain did not dampen our enthusiasm. We intended this getaway to be mainly rest and relaxation. This cabin was perfect. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed the woodland view and watching the Hummingbirds. We listened to the birds and the rushing stream below and the breeze moving the leaves and moisture dripping from the canopy. Each day, as the sun was setting, we sat the the hot tub for a while and then enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch with a glass of wine. Highly recommend the cabin and Maggie Valley. We did not see the Elk from the cabin, but as we were leaving and turned onto Soco Road, there were 2 magnificent Elk lying on a hillside just a few yards of the road. Both Elk had huge antlers and were very impressive. An exciting finale for our visit.

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the cabin over Memorial Day weekend with my husband and my parents, and we enjoyed the cabin immensely. Very clean with a well stocked kitchen, DVDs, fire pit with plenty of firewood, and grill. Great location for going to Asheville or the Smoky Mountains or the Blue Ridge Parkway for hiking. You can hear the water from a nearby mountain stream from the cabin! Nice views of woods and surrounding mountains from the deck. We all found it relaxing and just what we needed. Would definitely go back. The directions to the cabin can be a little confusing so do not rely on your GPS and mapquest it well before you go!

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

I can't begin to describe how wonderful our five night stay in this cabin was. It truly was like home away from home for us as everything we needed was there and waiting for us. We cooked supper each night and the kitchen had everything we needed. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. The owners were wonderful to work with and a pleasure to rent from. Our security deposit was returned very quickly and I never worried about any of the details. Most of all, our yorkiepoo was welcomed to stay with us and enjoyed our vacation as much as we did. We spent two days sightseeing at Biltmore, traveled a few miles on Blue Ridge Parkway, visited Soco Falls (just a few miles from cabin), Deep Creek, Ocalouchee Valley, Mingus Mill, and Cherokee. We stopped at a couple of roadside shops and picked up some local fare to cook for supper. We were able to view several elk while in Catalouchee Valley and one down the road from the cabin. AMAZING! We can't wait to return! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Great views!

  • 5 of 5

Awesome place - pictures do not do it justice! We had a very nice time at Elk Crossing. The house was well stocked and very clean. The house is on the top of a mountain and the views are beautiful. The driveway up to the house is scary and we were glad to have all-wheel drive, but that's expected when you're staying on the top of a mountain. The owners were great to work with and very responsive. My security deposit was in the mail on the day of our checkout! Overall a great experience!

Best Rental Ever

  • 5 of 5

We have rented on VRBO for years and of all the cabins around the country we have stayed in this was the best. The pictures do not show just how nice, secluded, provisioned, and perfect this place is. We used the campfire every night, the hot tub was sparkling clean and had a terrific view of the mountains, the place is remote but neighbors are shouting distance away, just right! One of the neighbors greeted us on our walk and was very friendly telling us if we needed anything stop by. We went to Klingmans Dome, Cherokee, and would have done more if we had a longer stay. When we go back to Maggie Valley to ski this Winterr we will be staying at the Elk Crossing Cabin! Jennifer and Billy were terrific to work with, even found my 9 year olds wallet under a couch and fedexed it to us on our return. One happy 9 year old when that arrived! Highly Recommend this cabin.
