Booked this for a sister and mother getaway. I ended up unable to attend due to illness but my four sisters and mom said the cottage was beautiful and decorated very well. Their only complaints were that there weren't enough washcloths and towels, no real view of the lake, too many steps to the beach and wished for better drapes for the windows for privacy. Otherwise they felt it was a nice place for a getaway.
We had a great time at The Ivy What a beautiful home and location. We were walking distance to a nice quiet, secluded beach. We could walk to the corner restaurant for coffee and then the beach for the rest of the day. We could jump in the car and head to many local restaurants for dinner. Four Winds casino is also ten minutes away. We had the best of both worlds. The Ivy's decor, front porch and deck were beautiful. The Ivy had all the amenities and we used them everyday.
We loved our stay at The Ivy. The house was a good size for 5 of us -- 2 kids and 3 adults -- although it would be tight for more than 4 adults. It's very close to the beach which wasn't as crowded as the Townline Rd beach. The kitchen & baths are new and beautiful. Lots of thought was put into decor from a reclaimed wood island with a pink painted antique bottle opener to the mason jar light fixture and chandeliers in just about every room -- maybe not the best for a guys weekend, but great for us. They had lots of games and beach toys. Everything worked well. The only reason we didn't give them 5 stars were that there were a few very minor maintenance issues; however the owner responded right away and would have sent someone to make repairs if we asked. We'll keep this on the top of our list for next year.
We decided to take our first family vacation with our 4 month old and so glad we did! This was the perfect cottage right across the street front the beach, close to restaurants and coffee shops. Jodi is super easy to work with and responds quickly. The house has towels, beach chairs, coffee (perfect to sit on the patio with) and laundry detergent. Nice to come home without dirty clothes! We are thinking about coming out again this summer whenever it is available. Great stay!
We had a wonderful weekend. Loved the accommodations! We enjoyed the binder filled with local recommendations and attractions. The owner got back to us quickly with the answers to my questions and very accommodating. The home is very clean and comfortable, however, we wished there was more comfy seating in the living area. The beech, just a short walk down the road, is fantastic.
We has a wonderful stay.
The Ivy is an idyllic gem of a house located within a very short walk of the most gorgeous Lake Michigan beach. The owners have perfected the art of the shabby chic style with added sophistication in the well appointed kitchen complete with temperature controlled wine fridge and almost anything one would need in a kitchen. We had fun staying in and cooking as well as sampling the local restaurants. There were so many clever decorating ideas in this adorable house that my daughter and I couldn't help but take lots of photos. The entire house was very clean and the comfy beds were outfitted with crisp, fresh clean linens. The newly remodeled bathroom is lovely. Our whole week was wonderful! I hope this can be my new home away from home!
