About Susan

We have lived in the Knoxville area for over 20 years and have enjoyed living close to the mountains. Our favorite things to do include hiking in the fall enjoying the beautiful colors of the mountains and in the summer boating on the areas many lakes and rafting down the Little River in Townsend. We look forward to sharing our little piece of heaven with you.

Allan and Susan

Susan purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Susan chose Tennessee

We live an hour a way from the Smoky Mountains and have enjoyed spending many weekends relaxing in the mountains, hiking, biking, and rafting. We have always wanted to own a getwaway in the mountains. We made our dream come true when we purchased our cabin last year. We hope you enjoy it too!

What makes this cabin unique

From our balcony we have watched Eagles soar! We enjoy the fact there are no cabins in view from our balcony. Each season brings a different view from lush green in the summer to the brilliant colors of fall to the snow topped mountains in the distance in winter. We hope your experiences here are as enjoyable and memorable as ours have been.

An amazing vacation

  • 5 of 5

The owners did a great job in describing the property online. The photos were accurate but in no way did justice to just how wonderful the view is. It is a large enough cabin and set up where 2 families could co-exist there with no problems at all. You are far enough to be away from vacation traffic but close enough to civilization to pop in quickly if necessary. The cabin was SUPER clean. There are cabins close by and they were occupied but we were rarely aware there were other people nearby. Our teenage boys enjoyed white water rafting at smokymountainrafting. com and Ian and Charity took the boys out for some fly fishing and they had a blast. Look em up at R&R Fly Fishing on google or facebook. GREAT vacation. GREAT cabin. Five stars without a doubt.

Beautiful property, great view

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this beautiful cabin. The view is phenomenal. The two bedrooms were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a relaxing get away. Make sure to spend your evenings in the hot tub on the balcony! So much fun! My only complaint about our stay was that we had planned on an extra adult being able to use the sleeper sofa in the living room. It turned out to be rather uncomfortable so she just slept on the couch which wasn't a huge deal, though she overall did not get good sleep during our stay. I would say this cabin is better suited for smaller groups (2 couples or a family of 4) as there really isn't a comfortable, out of the way sleeping situation outside of the two king size beds in the bedrooms. It would be nice if there was a good sleeper sofa or futon away from the main living area, up in the loft or on the lower level, so that a larger group or family could enjoy this fabulous cabin. We would definitely come again with a group of 4! Thank you for the lovely stay.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin and can't wait to go back! It was exactly as described on here. The views are breathtaking. You do have other cabins on both sides of you but you don't even notice it. We never heard our neighbors or anything. I would highly recommend this cabin to others who want a relaxing get away.

My only complaint was the lack of cell service and that's not a surprise considering you are in the mountains. I didn't like not being able to make or receive any phone calls on my cell phone. It was nice getting off the grid but I still wanted my family to be able to reach me in case of an emergency at home. The cabin did have a landline in it though.

Fantastic Cabin, Words Cannot Describe!!

  • 5 of 5

The View was AMAZING!! We went in late March, the spring colors were not in but the views were just wonderful. When the description said "Panoramic Mountain views" I took it with a grain of salt. Truly, you saw from East to West. Your view was both a magnificent sunrise (if you were up early enough for it, like me) and a wonderful sunset, that goes down behind the mountains. I personally enjoyed my morning coffee watching the majestic sunrise twice, it was beautiful and different each time. The cabin's site is perfectly set to catch both. The cabin itself was in great shape, clean, offered all the amenities and more that you may want on vacation. The kitchen was fully equipped and had fairly new pots and pans. The loft had pool and foosball while in the TV room we had a Wii and checkers. We took trips to the Smoky Mountain National Park through a back entrance 10 minutes from the cabin. No traffic and very convenient. One day we went to Sevierville. That was perhaps a 20 minute drive, a bit more traffic but then, that's Sevierville. i was surprised at how close we were to the hustle and bustle of Sevierville and yet still be in our mountain retreat in a matter of minutes. I was prepared for the idea that it was a cabin in a resort but did not feel the proximity of any neighbors once we were in our cabin. Two evenings during our stay we watched movies. The Television was superb (best picture and sound ever). I've wanted get a UHD (4K) TV now my wife is agreeing with me. Susan, the owner, was easy to work with and very helpful. You have to try Elvira's restaurant, simply delicious. Thank you Susan for allowing us to stay at your cabin. We will absolutely stay here again.

Very nice and scenic

  • 4 of 5

The overall property was very well taken care of, and it was nice and clean. The only complaint that I have it is that of privacy. The property sets very close to the cabins to the left and right. However, I would stay in the cabins again. It is a relatively close drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and it did have good places to eat nearby. However the drive anywhere you want to go has to go up and down a mountain and through other mountainous territories not to far fetched since it is in the mountains . If that does not bother, it is very neat drive unless there is snow or ice. The owner provided us great customer service and was able to be reached by phone or text. The other problem is that in the time of year that we went March 18-21st the shops around Wears Valley were closed and that could have been because everyone is headed to the more populated areas of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Amazing stay in the Smokey Mountains!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been to the Smokey Mountains a few times, but this cabin was by far the best one we've stayed in! The view is absolutely incredible... the pictures just don't do it justice. The cabin was very well stocked with everything we needed for our stay (bedding, towels, kitchen supplies, etc). All the electronics worked great. And most importantly, the owner was very helpful! We were well prepared with all the information we needed ahead of time, and the few minor issues we had (needed a couple batteries and new fooseball), a quick text to the owner and she immediately responded and took care of it. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a Smokey Mountain getaway!
