Awesome . Views are inspiring in person! Pictures don’t do this place justice for how beautiful it truly is. MUST STAY PLACE <3
Great stay, albeit too short!
The owner is incredibly well-organized and helpful, our stay was wonderful and uneventful.
This property has spectacular views. There was room for all of us to get together and relax. Dave is a wealth of knowledge regarding the area and provides information on all the activities and doings in Cripple Creek.
Loved the cabin, the views, the hospitality! Perfect place to get away with my family!!!
Perfect Vacation Retreat
The Fortress was the ideal location for our trip to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. I enjoyed being able to wake up and be surrounded by the breathtaking views and peace and quiet of the mountains. A couple of notes for future renters of the property, the driveway and road to get to the location is very steep and bumpy. This is a dirt road so plan your rental vehicle accordingly. Temperatures at this elevation remained relatively cool during the day but there is no air conditioning in the home. Dave was extremely helpful and very open to communication during the entire process. Highly recommend this property.
I currently reside in Henderson, NV where I manage this property along with a condo in Park City, Utah. I lived in this home full time from 2003-2008. After renting it out long term from 2008-2011, I decided to change paths and make it available as a vacation rental in 2012 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I realize that guests are investing not only their hard earned money, they are entrusting me with their valuable vacation time as well. It is my mission to make it the best possible experience for them from the time they first consider The Fortress as their destination until they return home safely after a wonderful and memorable experience.
Dave purchased this House in 2003
Why Dave chose
I'd always wanted to live in Colorado since my first visit in 1993. Since my job consisted of traveling to project locations, I could live anywhere as long as there was an airport not too far away. I enlisted a local real estate agent to help find me a place, and on a visit in early 2003 I first saw the place. 20 minutes after arriving I knew this was it and decided to buy the place. Since we came in the "back way", I didn't even know I was in Cripple Creek and that great little town was a short drive away. I went back to my hotel in Colorado Springs and started the paperwork the same day.
What makes this House unique
The views, sense of peacefulness, and sheer beauty of the area coupled with proximity to both Colorado Springs and Denver as well as many great attractions and things to do only a short drive away.
