Beautiful large detached 3000ft Victorian house, centrally located on a quiet, beautiful tree-lined street in Cabbagetown. It is seconds away to public transportations, minutes away from restaurants, bars, shops and short walkable distances to Dundas square, Eaton Centre, Yonge Street, Bloor street, Church and Wellesley, University of Toronto, Ryerson University, Toronto General Hospital, St Michael's Hospital and more.
This house is part of the Cabbagetown Preservation Association, the site was once lived by Ernest Thompson Seton (A writer, illustrator, artist, naturalist, explorer, and a founder of Boy Scouts of America). Recently renovated from top to bottom, the house has 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a powder room, TV room, large double living room, dining room connected to a spacious entertainment kitchen with a large island, a yoga/exercise room with floor-to-ceiling-wall-to-wall mirror, a beautiful laundry room, and a 2-car garage.
The house is set up generously for 6 people, but can sleep up to 10 very comfortably. It has a leather sofa bed in the living room and an air mattress in the yoga room for large groups (additional charges will apply for more than 6 occupants in the house).
The master bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed, flat screen TV, double closets, also has a beautiful marbled ensuite bathroom, with a large modern soaker tub, rain showerhead, 6 jets, handhold shower, in-shower speakers, Japanese style bidet toilet, and dimmable lighting. Second bedroom also has a queen size bed. The third bedroom has a large daybed that sleeps two. The second shower is just as beautiful as the master unsuited, lined with marble, 6 shower jets, rain head shower and a two person shower head.
The large open plan kitchen is connected to the dinning room. A 7 feet long island, 8 feet long bar/desk area, large 45” flat screen TV, equipped with everything you need to make a beautiful dinner for your family or a fast breakfast in the morning, the dinning table sits 8 people comfortably.

Beautiful area of the City, quiet street, friendly neighbors. When you are standing on the street, it doesn't feel like you are in a big city, but as soon as you turn the corner, you have all sorts of shops restaurants, parks. And it's within walking to city centre.
Great host! Fantastic location not far from city center and shops.
We really enjoyed our weekend in Toronto.
I strongly recommend this host and this house to any group of 6 to 8 persons willing to live in a modern and cozy house during their stay in Toronto.
I cannot say enough great things about this property. My family went for a long weekend get away and we could not have been happier. The house is beautiful and spacious -- we had 6 adults and were very comfortable. Kai has recently redone the back patio and we enjoyed spending much of our time out there. Kai was so friendly and makes an effort to ensure his visitors are enjoying their stay. A wonderful option for a stay in Toronto!
The owner was wonderful and helpful and the house is beautiful and well taken care of! I highly reccomend!!!
We rented this house for 75 days mid-Sep to end-Nov.
First, the good:
Beautiful, spacious and newly-renovated. Fairly well-appointed, with upscale finishings and furniture.
A superb location - Cabbagetown is quite Central and near to downtown. A very eclectic neighbourhood.
The owner Kai is very kind - a little busy to help out as much as he'd like, but he means well.
Now, a few irritants (nothing catastrophic, but warrant mentioning...):
The house has no cable package - it has an internet based SmartHub through Samsung. Meh.
The house has no proper phone line - it has an internet based "Magicjack" that scrambles the modem, requiring an unplug and restart every few days. Irritating. We've experienced Magicjack before with similar results (unreliable).
As well, only one cordless phone, so once it died it left us without a phone.
All said, made our internet and telecommunications experience unreliable and frustrating.
Kai did provide a cell phone (at his expense) for emergencies - very kind, but internet reliability was still an issue.
At this rental's price point, the annual cost to get a phone/cable package is 1-2 night's revenue. Seems like an easy decision.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place (and don't want to dissuede someone from renting) - a great property, great location and very kind owner. But consider negotiating a cable/phone line into the deal before committing to a longer term rental.
Thanks Kai for a great house...and a great place.
THis house is a must to stay in and the photos are great ,but the house is better, if that is possible. The owner had gone to a lot of trouble to make it very Xmassy, which was fabulous. Not only that, but stayed up till the early hours for us, when our flight was delayed for quite some time. All the facilities that you need and plenty of space.
Our family really enjoyed ouyr stay there and with it being so close to "downtown" Toronto made life easy.I would recommend this property to friends and family without any hesitation.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully decorated victorian home. The location is brilliant, close to all the shopping area and only a few minutes drive to downtown Toronto. The home is very spacious with absolutely amazing bathrooms and skylights. All the girls agreed that getting ready in the bathrooms felt like being in a spa. I would highly recommend staying at Kai's fantastic home. We would rate our stay as A++++. Thank you for the great experience Kai.
The house was tastefully decorated and had plenty of personal space for our party of 6. Everything we needed was provided including K-cups for our early morning coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed being in a neighborhood vs. a hotel and we rarely left the house without running into someone anxious to know if we were enjoying our stay and offering tidbits on places to visit. The location was perfect and we were able to visit The Distillery District, Kensington Market, Queen Street, Yorkville etc. all of which were within easy reach of the house. If you're looking for a stellar adventure in a City that has everything, this house is a winner. Thank you Kai for making our stay such a pleasant one.
