Log Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6, Romantic, Hot Tub, Fishing
About Kim Wood
We enjoy the quiet here but also the many outdoor activities available in this area. Our favorite activities are fishing, tubing, rafting, exploring & sitting on the deck looking at the sparkling river. Even in the winter, we love sitting on the upper deck chairs or the sofa downstairs, drinking hot Irish Coffee and watching the river flow by on a Saturday morning after a hard week of work in the city. What therapy! I always enjoy driving up here from the south and seeing the first set of BlueRidge Mountains on the skyline, just makes you take that long awaited exhale -- like you're finally at home again. Guess I'm a mountain man after all. Ya'll come on over here and enjoy!

Why Kim Wood chose Epworth
This area has all of the outdoor activities we could ever ask for plus exceptional outdoor beauty, it also makes a very romantic get away. There's nothing that compares to watching a Blue Herring at the bank of Fighting Town creek hunting trout. They get really big up here, wing span of 6'. The stars above on a clear night will AMAZE you, we even keep a telescope up stairs for you to use if you know how. It is very convenient to the town of BlueRidge, McCaysville, Atlanta, Chattanooga & Knoxville. In the heat of summer it is so nice to wade into what we call our natural whirlpool (middle of the creek there is a 4.5' bowl of water) deep enough to sit on the boulders there and keep your head above water. I've almost fallen asleep there it's so relaxing. We had a renter that said that's about all they did when they were there last June. They call places like this 'God's Country', I can understand why. You really connect with nature up here. I couldn't live without our cabin now that my family has experienced it. We want to share it with everybody! I could go on and on -- the scent of the white pinewood when you open the cabin door, the hummingbirds that buzz by in the mornings, the distant howl of a coyote and her pups. Just Awesome. We love to hike the Blueridge mountains, go riding the 4-wheelers, fishing and tubing. I'll trade a beach get-away for this 3 to 1.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin sits on Fightingtown Creek which is about 8-10 miles west of the town of Blueridge. Call us and we'll provide you with the address to do a Google map search. This cabin is located on a short road off of the main thoroughfare to a small gated community so your privacy is ensured.

It was perfect! I rented the cabin for my parents 60th wedding anniversary ❤️
It was just so beautiful!!! Unfortunately we had to cut our trip extremely short due to my mother going in to congestive heart failure, we were extremely grateful to have the hospital close by that was able to transport her to Atlanta. We are also so appreciative to Kim for her help and also speaking to the owners on our behalf so that we are able to come back when mom is better.
I hope your mom is doing better! One of the nice things about this cabin is that it is so quiet and peaceful but is really just minutes from town. Looking forward to having you back again. Thanks Kim Wood
Wonderful stay at River Mist
Excellent communication with the property manager, very easy check in and out, very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed being able to relax in the hot tub in the evening or sit in the back porch reading a book looking at the beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We try hard to to be responsive!
The cabin was exactly what we hoped for; fully stocked, clean and beautiful. The area between the cabin and the creek was outstanding. The creek was perfect, as was the surrounding area. We felt like we were miles from civilization, but was close. I would recommend River Mist in a heartbeat.
Mountain Time for Four Floridians
River Mist Cabin was AMAZING. This short get-away was our first experience in the mountains. We could not have asked for better lodging or outdoor activities. We are outdoors people---the cabin was conveniently located to three states that offered the majestic views of the Great Smoky Mountains via North Carolina; waterfalls at Fall Branch Falls and the Amicalola State Park via GA; and white water rafting on the Ocoee River via Tennessee. The cabin itself along the beautiful Fightingtown Creek provided us with fishing in the early morning and late afternoons and beautiful scenery with morning coffee or nightly spirits. Surrounding neighbors and vacationers like us were friendly and hospitable. We did not tube or kayak, but others around us did. WE all shared the pathway and communed with nature. An unusual cool front provided us with perfect temps in the 50's for two evening fires around the fire pit, and surrounding woods supplied us with wood and branches. Finally, the fire flies added to our delight as Floridians don't see fire flies any longer! It was hard to leave this peaceful way of life. We are so thankful for the opportunity to share in this experience. WE highly recommend for any outdoorsy couple, families and friends to make arrangements to stay in River Mist Cabin.
Very comfortable cabin in beautiful nature setting
We enjoyed every day spent in the cabin and especially outdoor relaxing, fishing cooking dinners on the grill and having a camp fire in the evenings. Wonderful get away from the city. Cabin has everything what you need, very clean, new appliances, beautifully decorated and feeling cozy. Just keep in mind there no cell phone or wifi connection in this area, only in the cabin, so print out all directions and instructions for checking in and enjoy the nature
Thank you for the 5-Star Review! Glad you loved your stay here, hope you get to visit again real soon.
Actually there is cell phone reception here at the cabin and surrounding areas, Verizon works good enough for most people here, AT&T, well that's another story, If you walk up the drive way you can get 1 or 2 bars up there, we all agree out here that AT&T cell phones don't work well here.
As for WiFi, we do have a satellite disk that picks up at about 3G speed, it's not fast but it's something. Out here in the Cohutta Forest there is really no choice in the matter when it comes to options, this is the best we can get out here until G5 comes around.
Isn't getting to a cabin in the woods what it's all about anyway? To Unplug? Trust me on this, sometimes the only way to have some family members get re-engaged is to cut them off the internet a bit. Once you get that accomplished closer connections start to happen! ;-)
We absolutely LOVED or stay and will be returning in the future!
Excellent communication with the property manager, very easy check in and out, very clean and comfortable. Loved everything about the cabin, you can tell it’s well maintained and decorated with love! Thank you for sharing your incredible home with us!
Thanks for the 5-Star Review! Hope to see you again real soon!
Hiking at the 1996 Ocoee Whitewater Center this park is a very nice local place to take a jog/hike/walk, along the river.
