Our previous guests might remember that my RiverMist Cabin was once listed on the "Rainbow Cabins" website but we have since moved on and are now proud members of the VRBO family, offering the long awaited "online booking and payment system", we find it much more efficient and quicker for our guests to immediately lock-in their reservations -- we even have a new and improved management staff.
We are just 90 minutes from Atlanta is a place of exceptional natural beauty offering peace & quiet plus championship trout fishing but close enough to town & all the other activities. The area of Blue Ridge, GA has enough outdoor activities to keep anyone busy but also offers upscale dining & shopping. Mountains, lakes, streams, rafting, tubing, fishing, shopping, this area has it all & is very accessible from both Atlanta & Chattanooga. Wildlife is abundant such as deer, racoons & birds. The master bedroom/bath is on the main level for easy access whith a brand new king size bed. The loft has 2 queen size beds, bath & futon on the top deck. Easy steps down the the creek for fishing & swimming. Tube down Fightingtown Creek or white water raft the famous Ocoee River or Canoe the Toccoa River, they are both so close. The Ocoee Whitewater Center, sight of the 1996 rafting Olympics is just 25 minutes away. Quiet & peaceful in a small gated community but close to shopping, grocery stores, hospital, etc.

About Kim Wood
We enjoy the quiet here but also the many outdoor activities available in this area. Our favorite activities are fishing, tubing, rafting, exploring & sitting on the deck looking at the sparkling river. Even in the winter, we love sitting on the upper deck chairs or the sofa downstairs, drinking hot Irish Coffee and watching the river flow by on a Saturday morning after a hard week of work in the city. What therapy! I always enjoy driving up here from the south and seeing the first set of BlueRidge Mountains on the skyline, just makes you take that long awaited exhale -- like you're finally at home again. Guess I'm a mountain man after all. Ya'll come on over here and enjoy!

Why Kim Wood chose Epworth
This area has all of the outdoor activities we could ever ask for plus exceptional outdoor beauty, it also makes a very romantic get away. There's nothing that compares to watching a Blue Herring at the bank of Fighting Town creek hunting trout. They get really big up here, wing span of 6'. The stars above on a clear night will AMAZE you, we even keep a telescope up stairs for you to use if you know how. It is very convenient to the town of BlueRidge, McCaysville, Atlanta, Chattanooga & Knoxville. In the heat of summer it is so nice to wade into what we call our natural whirlpool (middle of the creek there is a 4.5' bowl of water) deep enough to sit on the boulders there and keep your head above water. I've almost fallen asleep there it's so relaxing. We had a renter that said that's about all they did when they were there last June. They call places like this 'God's Country', I can understand why. You really connect with nature up here. I couldn't live without our cabin now that my family has experienced it. We want to share it with everybody! I could go on and on -- the scent of the white pinewood when you open the cabin door, the hummingbirds that buzz by in the mornings, the distant howl of a coyote and her pups. Just Awesome. We love to hike the Blueridge mountains, go riding the 4-wheelers, fishing and tubing. I'll trade a beach get-away for this 3 to 1.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin sits on Fightingtown Creek which is about 8-10 miles west of the town of Blueridge. Call us and we'll provide you with the address to do a Google map search. This cabin is located on a short road off of the main thoroughfare to a small gated community so your privacy is ensured.

We had a wonderful time fishing and hiking. The cabin was very clean and was exactly as described on your website. We will definitely be recommending your cabins to anyone looking for an easy, relaxing vacation.
We’ll be back!
Thank You Liza! It was great having you at the cabin. We're headed up this weekend to add an Gazebo type cover over the hottub for a better weather protection and more ability to enjoy in the rain as well!
We;ll have updated photos on the site soon!
Hope to see you again!
Great location, clean, and friendly neighbors
The cabin was located in a great fishing spot on the river! It was clean and well stocked for cooking. The highs were in the 50s during our stay so the fire pit and hot tub were a big plus! It’s close enough to Blue Ridge that going back into town for dinner or groceries is not a hassle. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay for another week.
Thank You Chris,
Hope you see you back real soon!
The Trout only keep getting bigger!
Very comfortable and homey! Pictures on VRBO are accurate representation.
Thanks for the review Angela. Hope to see you back again soon! curious, why the 4 star, what could we have done or provided to make it better? (within reason)
Soothing for the soul
Not only was the house very comfortable, but the sights and sounds on this wide part of Fightingtown Creek soothed the soul. This home is one of several in a gated community where the neighbors were very friendly. We were lucky enough to be there for the annual stocking of trout. We didn't fish much, but there are 2-3 feeders to entice the fish to stay around! The color was gorgeous in early Nov and not too cold, and the lot and cabin amenities would provide a great time in warmer weather too.
Thanks so much for your great review Rebecca,
Late fall and early winter our great times to come to RiverMist. I agree, the colors are spectacular on the foliage, the river received another 1000+ Trout as our annual contribution of rainbows and browns begins. I guess the only thing that could’ve made it better would’ve been the 8 to 10 inches of snow that arrived shortly after your stay and hopefully next time you visit you’ll bring bring a fishing pole and feel the thrill of reeling in some big fish!
Exactly what we were looking for!
Great cabin located on an awesome trout stream! The cabin decor is perfect and obvious the owners put love and character in this place. Everything we needed was there. Perfect getaway that was made easy starting with all the details layed out by management to everything in place and ready at cabin. Cheers to you all!
Dear Jeff, Thank You for the 5-Star review! I'm so glad we met your expectations! We try to make sure everything is in great shape at River Mist. Thanks and come back! Kim
Exactly. What. We. Needed.
Thank you for sharing this piece of heaven with others. My family and I were looking for a place to reconnect after my husband's year long deployment to Iraq. Seeking peace after a long year of separation, worry, and chaos. I'm blessed to say after this trip we feel closer and more connected than ever. Thank you.
The tranquility this cabin offers is more than words, you not only connect with loved ones but also with God's greatest works in their truest form. Georgia has opened our hearts to the South! The owners of both neighboring cabins took the time to chat and make recommendations and it was greatly appreciated!! Please thank them for us!
It was a bit hard to find at first but I believe strongly that was our error being from the Midwest and not used to the hills and types of "back roads" that are in the south. (Haha) Many have commented on the condition of the roads we believe they were completely fine. If you've never driven a gravel road before I could maybe see where you get your concern... For us coming from Nebraska, yes we were not used to the hills but never had a concern on the condition of the roads. Like a previous commenter I think my husband enjoyed them also. (Haha)
May you all get the peace and comfort your seeking at this amazing property!!! We can't wait to come back!
The Pierce Family
Give neighbor dog Abby kisses and hugs from us she's a doll!!
I'm so glad you were able to reconnect with your family during this trip. It truly is a magical place & remind myself every day how lucky I am to live here. Please come back as soon as you can!
Hiking at the 1996 Ocoee Whitewater Center this park is a very nice local place to take a jog/hike/walk, along the river.
