This luxury 1 bedroom apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Sliema, 20 metres off Malta's longest and most beautiful promenade. The apartment is air-conditioned and consists of an open plan kitchen/living with all appliances, sofabed, TV and WiFi, a master bedroom and bathroom. Situated in a very quiet block, it is 20 mtr off the promenade, which hosts an array of cafe's, pubs and restaurants. Seconds away from a small sandy and pebbly beach, and minutes away from the shoppers' mecca that is the Sliema shopping centre and St Julians, the entertainment hub. It's ideal for couples wanting to explore the island or simply looking for a comfortable, laid back relaxing break! The ideal location of the apartment means that a car is not necessary. Bus stops to Mellieha and most locations are situated a few metres away from the apartment. Sliema - the perfect holiday location for all seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter! And this apartment is the perfect budget option.
Positives: The location is great. Just steps away from the promenade, bus stops, food market, and restaurants. Julian, the driver, is also very helpful with recommendations as well. Christine, the owner, was very receptive and responsive to queries and concerns. Wi-fi was strong and consistent. Christine also made sure the fridge was stocked with some bread, ham, cheese, milk, wine, bottled water and cookies when we got there, which was a nice surprise! She also left a helpful note letting us know everything we needed to know. The A/C is a godsend, and we wouldn't have been able to sleep without it!
Negatives: Nothing that hasn't been mentioned before. The suite is a little dated, and the couch is pretty stained in some spots. There is a lack of natural lighting, with the exception of the bedroom, which is the only window in the suite (it opens up to a small balcony, which is nice to have). There seems to be an ant problem in the apartment, which Christine says is common in Sliema. I also noticed some cockroaches too, but perhaps that is a common issue as well. The tub was pretty badly clogged the first few days, but Christine came and cleared that up for us because she was showing the suite to another couple while we were there (she asked if it was ok first, of course). The blow dryer didn't work, but she replaced it with another, but unfortunately, the new blow dryer didn't work either. Most basics were provided, but we had to buy our own beach towels, dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, paper towels and laundry detergent. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice if those were provided, especially since it was a beachy destination and maybe some other beach gear such as a small cooler or chairs.
Just a note that the lock was really tricky the first few times. Thank God we ran into Christine's lovely father in the hallway and he told us the trick: to turn the key all the way to the right and pull on the door.
I stayed in this apartment in October last year? The pictures are all valid. The apartment looks a little older though as the pics might be a few years old but everything still works fine. The apartment gets sun into the bedroom which is great. I thought the lighting in the rest of the apartment needs to be better but really that's the only complaint. The bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living area are all great. TV, DVD and Internet availability is good - nice to see English channels available. The location is fabulous. Just one street off the Main Street in Silema. Very easy to get everywhere on the bus including the airport. I did use Julian's transport on arrival and that was great. Silema and the surrounding areas are fab! I spent days swimming and soaking up the sun either by the water, in coffee shops outdoors, along the promenade or whilst walking everywhere to see as much as possible. Great restaurants and bars nearby. Dinners very reasonably priced. My sister stayed for 3 days - she slept on the fold out couch which was fine for a few days but not longer I'd say. I would have liked to be able to open the curtains in the bedroom every now and then to let the natural light in more but the neighbours are looking straight in so no privacy. Again just a small note, nothing major. Apartment also has a small balcony where clothes can dry on the clothes horse provided. We did make use of the washing machine so that was useful to have. We didn't really use the kitchen apart from the fridge and I think there was some wine and cake in the fridge to greet us so that was a nice touch. I would recommend this apartment. Good value for money.
We had an excellent stay in this property. Much thanks to Christine the host as she was extremely helpful and accommodative given it was our first time in the country.
The property is very well kept, quiet and secure. It was extremely clean and offered great air conditioning, which was an amazing help on some of the extremely hot days. Easy enough to get up to the right floor as there was an elevator, or a few flights of stairs. Lots of amenities in the apartment, which was great since we were there for about a week. We were able to have breakfast or lunch in the kitchen, which comfortably fit the two of us. Bedroom was also very comfortable and clean.
The location is excellent, just steps away from the water. There are a plethora of restaurants and other source of entertainment in the area. At night you are just around the corner from St. Julians, which was always lively and enjoyable. There are a number of buses within seconds that can take you virtually anywhere on the island. You can hop a bus to the other side of Sliema and get across to Valetta in probably 30 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. The area is not overly crowded, even considering we were there during peak season.
Would definitely recommend anyone to stay in this studio apartment who might be looking for a comfortable, safe and convenient place to spend a week or two in Malta. We cannot say enough about our host and the location.
The apartment is exactly as it appears in the photos. Very cozy and clean. It has air conditioning, hairdryer, tv, wifi and washing machine. The large clean bathroom. Bed comfortable. We love going back.
Christine thanks for your kindness
Well described accommodation with friendly owner.
Free wi-fi is provided which we made full use of.
Apartment on 4th floor but there is a good lift.
Would also advise the use of Julian, the friendly taxi driver to meet you from and take you back to the airport. Forget renting a car and treat yourself to a 1-3-5-7 day bus pass. Buses and roads have to be experienced to be believed.
Excellent situation less than 50 yards from bus stops and a great Italian restaurant, yet in a quiet residential street. however a mile up the road ( few mins in the bus! ) there are some wonderful eateries at Spinola Bay, St Julians.
We stayed here in November 2008. Really loved it. It is clean, comfy and in a great location for exploring Sliema and Valetta. The owner is really helpful and pleasent. Would highly recommend this appartment!

The apartment is set in the heart of Sliema, which, itself is a perfect holiday location. However, buses service most routes and bus stops are conveniently located metres away from the apartment. Direct buses can take you to beautiful beaches in Mellieha, such as Ghadira Bay, Paradise Bay, Gnejna, Golden Bay and Armier. There is also a direct service to Cirkewwa where you can take the ferry to beautiful Gozo, Malta's sister island and the idyllic Blue Lagoon in Comino with its crystal clear azure waters. Sliema is a shopping centre, as is Valletta (the Capital) which can be reached by bus. Valletta has much to offer - it is not only ideal for shopping but hosts a many museums as well as the beautiful St John's Cathedral where one can admire Caravaggio's beheading of St John. The Valletta Waterfront & Cruise Liner Terminal is lovely for a drink or dinner. Other attractions which can be reached by bus are the Splash & Fun Water Park, Mediterraneo Marine park and Popeye's Village.
