Located less than 20 minutes from Newark Liberty Airport and right across the Hudson River from New York City that can be reached in a short commute (by NJ Transit buses, PATH trains or NY Waterways Ferries), Hoboken is one of the best places to stay when visiting the area. It is a safe place for families, offers a diversity of restaurants, boutiques, parks and playgrounds, and definitely the best views of Manhattan, all within walking distance (one square mile only!).
Located on the 4th floor (WALK-UP/top floor) of a historical brownstone building (built in 1892), this condominium is ideal for a family of 4-6. It was renovated and upgraded in 2006. The master bedroom sleeps 2 adults (queen size bed) and the children’s small bedroom sleeps 2 (twin size bunk beds). A convertible sofa can accommodate 2 additional people in the living room. Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, utensils, pots and pans, and small appliances (coffee maker, toaster). WiFi access and TV (no cable).
Tour books and maps available in the condo.
There is nothing easier than getting to Manhattan from Hoboken! The apartment is located two short blocks away from NJ Transit bus stop that will take you to Port Authority Bus Terminal/Time Square in 15 minutes (not during rush hour). A 20-minute walk or a 5-minute bus ride will take you to the PATH station, where you can catch a train and reach the Financial District/Chinatown (10 min.), Greenwich Village (10 min.), or 33rd street/Macy's (15 min.).
Spend your days sightseeing in NYC, come back to Hoboken and have dinner at home (grocery stores nearby) and relax.
You may also decide to take a break and relax in Hoboken, where there is plenty to do. Have lunch/dinner at one of the many ethnic restaurants, stroll around the birth town of Frank Sinatra, walk by the original baseball field, go up the hill and take a walk in the beautiful campus of Stevens Institute of Technology to enjoy a magnificent view of Manhattan from the George Washington Bridge all the way to the Financial district, shop at the many unique boutiques on Washington street, and take a peek inside Carlo’s Bake Shop that hosts Cake Boss, the TLC reality TV show.

We lived in this condo in Hoboken for 8 years. We fell in love with Hoboken and enjoyed living in a small town yet so close from the city.
You will love being able to come home from NYC every evening and enjoy its many restaurants and small town feel.
Severine purchased this apartment in 2004
Top floor condo. Great light.
We stayed for a week and rented the 3rd and 4th floor apartments. They were wonderful! They are very clean, very well lit and the location was perfect! We were able to walk a block and hop on the bus and head straight to Times Square. Hoboken is a beautiful town and the apartments were just perfect for our group of 10.
Excellent apartment and great location! We stayed in Hoboken for 3 nights. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had lots of extra sheets and towels. It was 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids) and the place was perfect size for us. Even though, I knew it was walk up I wish I had seen those stairs. It was exhausting to climb those stairs after a long day out. The owners were very accommodating and responded in timely manner to our needs. The location was excellent. It was our first time in Hoboken and we loved the neighborhood. Lots of great restaurants within minutes from the apartment. We walked to Sinatra Drive which had amazing views of NYC with lots of play areas for kids. The apartment had good pots/pan which allowed us to make breakfast. The owners also provided great information package to help us enjoy and navigate around Hoboken. We took Ferry to Liberty Island, Path to Financial District and Bus to Manhattan. We will definitely use this apartment again.
We stayed 6 nights & was VERY satisfied with the apt. Great location (9th st) to all things Hoboken & wasn't a bad walk to the PATH. It was clean/comfortable & everything worked great (frige/microwave/shower etc). Plenty of towels & the Queen bed was fine. Bunk beds were comfort but creaked when you moved. There are 3 A/C window units that did great @ keeping the apt cool (even on hot days). We kept the curtains closed & placed a towel in the bedroom/kitchen window to keep the apt 'shaded' & keep the morning light out as the shades didn't really do that. The washer/dryer is in the basement & worked fine after we figured out how to get the heat to work.
I would NOT recommend this apt to anyone who struggles with stairs. There are 4 flights & they are steep. Me, my husband & 2 teenagers were OK with this but someone older, or w/health issues or carrying a baby & baby stroller etc....up those steps it might be a bit much.
Hoboken is a great location & it's got it's own charm to offer & can be a nice break from NYC. We always felt safe, even coming home @ Midnight one night, walking downtown & around the neighborhood. The folks were friendly & it was surprising how many dog owners we ran into & they were VERY nice about allowing my daughter to pet their dogs. There were some really good restaurants (Mike's Squared was our favorite). Be aware that some are BYOB which caught us off guard (after a long day in the City having dinner w/a drink sounded great & then we found out they didn't serve alcohol). The Pier had a wonderful view of the NYC & a great breeze at all times with plenty of shade, grass & open space. We took our dinner there one night & ate, played cards and enjoyed the evening. I would visit Hoboken again and I would certainly stay in this apt. Severine provides a lot of useful information about Hoboken, taxies etc & she checks in on you to ensure everything is ok. My only recommendation to anyone who is not familiar with the transportation system: The PATH (NOT the same as the NYC subway) will get you to NYC & depending on how long you stay & how often you plan to travel to/fro from Hoboken/NYC it's most cost efficient to purchase a Smartlink Unlimited 7 day pass. We spent way too much $ re-filling our Metro cards just to get b/w Hoboken & NYC. The PATH cards cannot be used on the NYC subway so when you get to NYC get a unlimited 7 day subway pass for $30...well worth it & it won't run out.
We stayed in Hoboken for 3 nights in July and chose this Condo for our vacation. It's a great place not only to visit Hoboken but also New York City. Public transportation to NYC (Waterway or Path train) is nearby. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with a lot of great restaurants and boutique shops in walking distance. You don't need a car at all. The Condo was very clean and well equipped. It was very hot those days, so the AC was a great plus. The walk up to the 4th floor is not too bad and we didn't mind. Check out Turning Point for breakfast (closed to NY Waterway station in Uptown) or Cucharamama on Clinton St/2nd for great Southern American Food. Booking and payments went smoothly and Severine came up with loads of useful information about the Condo and the neighborhood. We would recommend this place to families with kids looking for a convenient place to explore NYC and surroundings.
This was our second stay at this great Condo. The unit was spotless, well equipped with stocked kitchen and all the amenities needed for a great stay. Short walk to the train station and all the great restaurants. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you
We had a nice stay in both the Garden Street and Garden Street 2 apartments. The stairs ascending to the apartments are very steep so not recommended for people who cannot walk well. There is a garden that appears to be for the whole building. The door was open to it when we arrived. We went out to see it and were yelled at by a woman living in the building that it was private property and we needed to get out. This was confusing since there was no sign indicating this and the door was open. The apartments had everything we needed and were comfortable. The futon bed is a futon bed. Not comfortable but kids are ok on it. We loved the area. We spent lots of time in Manhattan and the commute was actually fun. The ferry is great or the Path or the bus. We used all three and they were all convenient and easy to use. Hoboken is BEAUTIFUL! We loved Washington Street, the Stevens College Campus, the park by the water. We spent more time there than originally planned because it was so nice. Great food very close by and much cheaper than Manhattan. For the price these apartments are great! We would just recommend that future guest be notified that the attached garden is off limits. Maybe this is already noted and we just missed it. Thanks to Severine for the stay!
