Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 3

This rare, one-of-a-kind Casita is tucked away in a grove of trees on 6 acres in the Texas Hill Country between Austin (25 minutes to downtown) and Dripping Springs (10 minutes away). We live on the property, but you can be assured that the casita feels secluded and private. It was designed and built by a talented craftsman with high attention to detail, design and comfort. The architecture and design is a mix of modern, Asian, Texas farmhouse, and a bit of Kentucky church house ☺.

The overall feel is cozy and spacious, luxurious and comfortable. The #1 comment when visitors experience our place is the wonderful natural light that fills every room with its wall-to-wall French doors and large windows. There are vaulted ceilings, pecan wood flooring & custom cabinetry through-out. Designed with imported vintage rugs and a fine art collection of painting and photography make the space inviting. Furnishings of ornate antique imports, simple rustic and mid-century modern make for an eclectic environment.

The living room has a comfortable couch and wall inset 40” HDTV with cable. There is a nice stereo with CD and DVD player. We can make the couch out as a bed if needed to accommodate a third person.

The bedroom is very romantic with a comfortable queen sized bed and organic cotton sheets that overlook the countryside from private French doors to the porch. From the bedroom doors there is direct access to a hot tub spa under the oak trees. If you have a third person, we have a very comfortable couch in the living room. There is a walk-in closet with shelving and hanging space for your convenience. We will provide robes for you.

The bathroom shower is glass tiled with a door inside the shower to the outdoors so you can have an indoor/outdoor shower experience on a nice day or evening. The bath countertops are marble. You will be bathing with filtered rain-water.

The porch is the full length of the house and overlooks a large field of trees and wild grass. This is the perfect spot to watch the sunset, bird watch, and star gaze. There is a nice gas grill and an outdoor fire-pit (can only be used when the county burn ban is not in force).

This is a perfect place if you want a peaceful getaway, but don’t want to be too far from Austin or Dripping Springs or many other central Texas Hill Country locations. It is close to area wineries, distilleries, breweries, wedding venues and outdoor exploring. This is a great retreat for writing, reading, cooking, bird watching or simply enjoying country living. Want a day in the city? You are only 20 minutes away. Want a day to get away from the city? This place is it. Or, you can have both!

Great weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a 3-day weekend at the casita and loved it. It's close enough to Austin and the Hill Country to be convenient while still being quiet and private. The casita was very nice, with great finishes and decoration. The hosts were very nice and communicative while respecting privacy. We would definitely book it again!

Lovely Peaceful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Just what we needed to be restored. The casita is exquisite! I definitely recommend if you're ready to unwind and rest. Everything you need is there to just stay in, but plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby if you're so inclined.

Peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the casita. Andrea has done a great job at creating a beautiful tranquil retreat for her guests. We weren't far from Austin, but it felt like we were worlds apart. The grounds are very relaxing. We enjoyed just sitting on the deck and watching the birds and squirrels. The hot tub was a nice plus. The interior was decorated simply and clean, very calming. The house had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

The week at the casita was truly the best week ever! It was our first trip to Texas and we were looking forward to getting in to some warmer weather. The casita was absolutely comfortable and extremely clean. Details were not overlooked. The location was prime - peaceful and secluded/private while being not too far from downtown Austin or other close-by towns. Bee Cave has great shopping and a wonderful spa for massages. We took a day each to travel to WACO and San Antonio. Perfect distance for day trips! It was always so nice to come home to such a cozy spot! We spent a lot of the cool mornings and evenings/nights in the hot tub. The rockers on the porch were used for hours on end to watch the birds at the bird feeder and to enjoy the beautiful view. It was a perfect spot for balancing relaxation with fun. It was nice to have cable to watch movies a few nights. The owners live next door BUT the homes are situated where there is TOTAL privacy. We never felt weary that they would pop over or see us as we hung out in our bathing suits in the hot tub. We really appreciated and enjoyed meeting them! Andrea and Mike are really great and ready to help with anything -- showing us how to turn on the cable (haha) or giving us tips on where to get groceries, restaurants to try out, even towns to travel to. It was just an absolute perfect spot and a perfect week. We truly plan to be a repeat customer! There is so much to do and see -- one week was not enough!

Beautiful and relaxing location

  • 5 of 5

Great home to use for a relaxing weekend (or longer). We loved all the amenities of home combined with the peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Close to most stores, tourist locations and anything else you might need, but also far enough off the beaten path to feel break from the hustle and bustle of life. Highly recommended this casita and would happily visit again.
