Overview

About the property

Estate, 5 Bedrooms + Den, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-14)

Chalone Pinnacles House is a 40 Acre 5,000 Square foot estate surrounded by Chalone Vineyards. This is the location of many famous Chalone stock holder parties. 3 wineries are within 5 minutes and 7 more within 20.

The house is perfect for 5 couples or 3 families of four. The views are stunning from nearly every room, deck, patio, pool, and jacuzzi.

There is also spectacular hiking at Pinnacles National Monument. We are 5 minutes from the western entrance. Pinnacles is very different with unusual talus caves and streams. You will probably see California condors. 5 hikes are available. Two easy and three pretty strenuous.

Hang by the pool in the sun. No fog up here at 1500 feet. The star gazing is spectacular. We are a 15 minute drive off of Highway 101. Super quiet.

There are 8 restaurants to 10 15 minutes away that can do take out.

Tons of activities. Super Setting. Historic California Property.

I can not believe we were lucky enough to buy this beautiful estate.

HOUSE DETAILS: Three levels. Upper, Middle, and Lower

The UPPER level has 2 big bedrooms (one king one queen) with gorgeous views and very private decks with a large bathroom between them.

The MIDDLE level has the entry, large kitchen, dinning room, pantry, and 2 large bedrooms (kings) with large bath in between. These rooms all have beautiful views. The bedrooms also have nice private patios with chaise lounges. There is also a bedroom (twins) with nearby bath. This room is the only room in the house with no view. Short straw gets this room. There is a huge patio off of the dining room with lots of room and jaw dropping views.

The LOWER level has the living room, den, large bath, half bath, wine cellar, and pool/media room. There is a fold outs in the pool room and one in the den to take the sleeping capacity from 10 to 14. This level opens up to the pool, the large patio around the pool, and the jacuzzi. All with stunning views.

About Bert

My name is Bert Fornaciari. My wonderful wife Linda and my son Jack, and daughter Carol are delighted to be fortunate enough to

let you enjoy Chalone Pinnacles House. We live in Portola Valley, California

Bert purchased this estate in 2012

Why Bert chose Central Coast California

This is a one of a kind property. It was built by the CEO of Chalone Wine Group. The first high end winery to go public. The builder of this house built up Chalone Winery then expanded the legacy of great wines with the acquisitions of: Accacia, Edna Valley, Carmenet, and Canoe Ridge. Later he sold Chalone Wine Group to Diageo a public premium beverage company that also owns Tanqueray, Dom Perignon, Cuervo and many other brands

What makes this estate unique

Gorgeous Views, Amazing Stars, Great Food, Quality wine selection. Super nice staff. This is my third vrbo property and I plan to make it be very high end but at a price many can afford.

There is a small driving range (you have to retrieve the golf balls) Private Wine Cellar and wine tasting, 6 mountain bikes.

Mountain Climbing instruction available (extra) It's also fun to play wiffle ball golf around the property. There are 8 to 10 restaurants that can do take out 15 minutes away. You can also play whiffle ball golf on the property. For real golf you might want to play on the way to the property say Friday afternoon in San Jose, Monterey or Salinas. Or maybe play after you check out on Sunday on the way home.

Stunning views and lovely home for gathering a group of friends or family for a getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have found a nicer place for 10 friends to meet for a 5 night stay. We spent our days out wine tasting; one day in Paso Robles, another out on River Road in Soledad, and then at the classic and well known Chalone winery.

In the afternoon after our tastings, we relaxed in the hot tub, played water volleyball, and took strolls through the estate vineyards and Pinnacles National Park.

This home is the perfect gathering place for family and friends. Each evening we cooked dinner together and ate at the very large and lovely dining table. After dinner we enjoyed playing games, watching football on the large screen TV, and playing pool in the game room.

The rooms and spaces in the home are well thought out, so that everyone can gather together, but also retreat to a smaller place for privacy.

The location is greater for enjoying Pinnacles for a hike, wine tasting in the valley, and day trips to Carmel, Monterey, and Paso Robles!

Wonderful place for family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

This estate is stunning and has everything that you may need to spend a few blissful days with a large group who is interested in just being together. The house is tailor built for big groups with lots of different hang out areas-- pool table room, outdoor pool, hot tub, fire pit, indoor and outdoor dining, and lots of indoor sitting areas. Each bedroom is spacious and well lit. The kitchen has everything you may need. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. It was perfect for our 3 generation family reunion. We hope to return. Thanks, Bert!

Spectacular views, lovely estate for family and friend gatherings!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this lovely home and property. We had a 50th birthday getaway weekend for a group of college friends with our families. We were looking for somewhere we could reconnect, be outdoors, socialize and relax, and this place did not disappoint! There was ample room for all of us to socialize indoors and out, and then spread out without being on top of each other. The bedrooms are all beautiful, the living spaces spacious and inviting, and the views spectacular from almost every room. We brought lots of food with us and cooked at the house. We found everything we could possibly need to cook, grill and entertain. We had large family style meals indoors and outdoors, sipping wine late into the night (while respecting the noise notice after 10) and watching the stars. It was perfect. During the day, we went adventuring to Pinnacles, visited a few vineyards, walked the property and explored the orchards and vineyard, lounged by the pool and played! Some folks rode bikes and the special treat for my son who plays competitive table tennis was showing up the adults in friendly table tennis matches. Truly something for everyone. The owner, Bert, was very responsive and helpful and truly made sure we had a fabulous stay. Thanks so much and we will definitely consider another visit!

The setting was lovely and the home was spacious.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time meandering through the vineyard and then relaxing poolside to take in the gorgeous vista. It's a great place to getaway and unplug. The property could benefit from a little updating. When mentioned to the owner he was very responsive and appreciative of the feedback.

Owner's Response: So glad you had a good visit at Chalone! Thanks so much for the constructive feedback. The dining room chairs are set to be re upholstered the last week of October. We updated a few odds and ends and a new fold out couch is being delivered September 6th. Glad you had fun !

Great weekend

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend here in beautiful Soledad wine country. I stayed here once before three years ago, and have wanted to come back ever since. Fortunately, I managed to find a decent enough reason! The house itself is gorgeous, with a large kitchen, dining room, multiple bedrooms, a pool table, and TV, all situated on top of rolling hills covered with grape vines. We had 12 adults but there was more than enough space for everyone.

Bert, the owner, was very responsive, helpful, and generous. The hot tub wasn't working the first night, but he had it fixed the next afternoon. He was even kind enough to give us a small refund and offered to let us stay an additional night, for free!

I can't say enough good things about this place. You'll have to find out yourself!

Beautiful Views

  • 5 of 5

Our group was comprised of four couples and the house worked perfectly. The carpet is light and needs either cleaning or a facelift, but everything else is clean and well maintained. The views are amazing!
