All you will hear are the birds in this serene desert home and walled garden,--your own oasis. This beautiful owner-built pueblo-style home opens out into beautiful vistas in all directions. Walk to the front porch and enjoy the walled garden full of cactus, desert plants, fruit tree, herbs and (in season) vegetables. Go through the french doors off the bedroom and enjoy the private outdoor shower and bathtub nestled into the side of 'Coyote Hill'.
Just a six-minute drive from the entrance of the Joshua Tree National Park, and ten-minutes from the shops and restaurants of the 'village' of Joshua tree, you will feel like you are just where you want to be. Nestled into the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains, this sparsely populated neighborhood boasts of wonderful walks, hikes and wildlife viewing opportunities, right here.
You will enjoy the fully appointed kitchen, beautifully furnished master bedroom and bath with unique interior stucco walls, and many other handbuilt touches. It is kept sparkling clean by Piper who owned a bed and breakfast in Hawaii for seven years, and currently helps take care of several other vacation rentals in the area.

A lovely cottage, very clean, with a fun outdoor shower.
This place has the perfect combination of seclusion and accessibility. It feels as if you've plopped down right in the middle of the desert. By city standards, the neighbors are very far away. Every single window has a great view. You can see the starry sky from bed...
The accommodations are spacious and cozy and desert cool. Can't wait to come back in the summer!
Piper was so accommodating and helpful. I went with some friends to enjoy Joshua tree park hiking and exploring. Adobe was a quiet place to relax and get rest. With gratitude I appreciate the accommodating host who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you so much!
The house was lovely, with lots of special touches. The whole area is stunning. Peaceful garden & we enjoyed our dinner on the patio, under the stars. Unfortunately there was a bit of rubbish lying around in piles in front of the house, which detracted somewhat from the beauty of the place. The house would be perfect for a couple or one or two small children. The sleeping arrangements were less than ideal for our teenagers.
I knew my daughter and I were in for a wonderful experience once we booked this magic authentic southwestern-style home. The owner, Piper, gave clear instructions about how to locate it, what to do upon arrival and provided multiple methods of contact should something go wrong as you pull in the driveway.
This home sits on two and one-half acres above the town of Joshua Tree. It's only three minutes from the north entrance into Joshua Tree National Park.
When we walked through the gate that had a chalkboard "Welcome Tim and Kelly" on it, we felt we were in for a treat. There was a private walled garden with tiny trails and even a dry stream bed with a small bridge created by a massive flat piece of stone.
The inside of the home was well furnished and decorated with all sorts of small art pieces that gave it an authentic southwestern feel.
There was plenty of kitchen counter space and lacks for nothing with respect to everything you need to help make a meal.
The bedroom was very large and the bed faced a set of double french doors to a private small patio where you can take a bath or shower right in your own private garden.
You'll not regret staying here. I can tell you that when we come back to Joshua Tree, we'll be calling Piper.
We spent a week at Piper's place and loved it! Could easily have spent another week there. It's a great house in a fabulous location! If you desire peace and solitude, this is the place to stay.
Six minute drive from the Joshua Tree National Park. Ten minutes to the village shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree.
