About the property

Chateau / Country House, 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 5

The arrival of spring brings so many exciting new things to see and do. Birds are starting to nest, spring trees and flowers burst forth, wild animals are preparing to bring babies into the world, and the streams and waterfalls are full and glorious.

The cottage has blooming trees and flowers - the forsythia is striking! Everything is just starting to turn green and it's time to break out the grill and eat outside.

Take a hike on one of the many hiking trails and watch for Trillium, Spring Beauty, Trout Lily, Marsh Marigold, Shadbush and Bloodroot, among many others.

Wonderful Weekend

  • 4 of 5

Visited the area for Ithaca College parents weekend and Judy's Cottage gave us easy access to Ithaca, but was away from the crowds. We spent time at the college, visiting waterfalls, hiking along the lake and a little bit of shopping. All an easy ride from the cottage. Lots of restaurants in Ithaca of course, but discovered some great places in neaby Trumansburg as well. I'm sure we'll be back for another visit.

Owner's Response: I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay. We're very fortunate to be so close to everything: colleges, wine trails, waterfalls, glorious scenery, but still in a quiet and peaceful space with lots of room to relax and enjoy it. Hope to see you again soon.

The cottage was lovely and the location couldn't have been better, but it was Judy's thoughtfulness that really takes the cake. Thanks so much Judy!

Comfortable cottage close to downtown Ithaca

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleased with the location, and we had everything we needed.

We liked to sit outside and enjoy the countryside.

Nice to have some modern T.V.s to enjoy in the evening.

Ithaca's restaurants have every cuisine imaginable. The downtown lake park is fabulous.

Great stay.

Owner's Response: I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay. We think it's a great location, too. Besides being close to Ithaca, it's close to the wine trails and the lake. Scenic beauty and lots of things to do. We have TV in the living room and in all three bedrooms. Right now the fall colors are peaking and the scenery is spectacular!

Family vacation

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at the cottage for a vacation with our family to relax and sight see in the area. We love the Finger lakes region and this is a nice location. House was clean, plenty of everything you need for a comfortable stay and private and quiet to enjoy time with family. Also was great the she allows dogs so our furry friend was able to accompany us. Lots of space to play and hang out outside as well. Judy is great about responding to emails etc very quickly. Would return if we make another trip that way.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your vacation. I do hope you're able to come back. There is so much to see and do here that one vacation is hardly enough! We always tried to vacation with our pup so when I started Judy's Guest House I was happy to make it possible for other families.

There are too many attractions here to list them all. Hiking, sailing, biking, golfing and a trip along the Finger Lakes Wine Trail are favorites for many people. This is a mecca for antique hunters, and anyone with an interest in classical architecture should drive through the nearby Village of Trumansburg with its many historic houses. There are many State Parks in the area, and most of them have glorious waterfalls, hiking trails and many scenic gorges. The Art Trail runs directly past the house and during the open tours it’s a wonderful way to view local artists at work. The Museum of the Earth and the Science Museum are favorites of kids of all ages. Cornell Lab of Ornithology is worth a visit and the entire area is great for bird watching.

There are several live theater groups and great music opportunities for any sort of music you can imagine. Great local restaurants for just about any cuisine you can imagine.
