This beautiful and light ‘boutique style’ apartment is situated in the leafy Plantage area which is in the heart of the city of Amsterdam.
It has been completely renovated and lovingly furnished. The spacious apartment has high original ornamental ceilings, a display fireplace and 3 large windows on the North and South side.
The kitchen is like everything else in the apartment – simple, beautiful and high quality and is fully equipped including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washer/dryer, SMEG hob/oven and granite worktops.
The bathroom includes a large walk-in shower with double basin vanity unit. The bedroom has an original ornamental ceiling, king-sized bed, built-in wardrobes and two large original doors that close the bedroom and bathroom from the open-plan living/kitchen space. The WC/toilet is located separately to the bathroom.
Each piece of furniture has been chosen to create a beautiful and relaxing home. The apartment also has high-speed wireless internet, and a 32-inch Samsung flat-screen TV, DVD player and iPod speaker base.
This first-floor apartment is located very close to the Amsterdam Business School on a leafy and charming street in a quiet residential part of the city.
Within 1-3 mins you can walk to various local cafes, restaurants, bakery, supermarket, book store, Kriterion (arty) movie house, Oosterpark (lovely green park), multiple canals, Artis Zoo and the metro/tram.
Take a 10-15 min (beautiful and safe) walk, and you are out of the calm and tranquility and into the buzzing ‘hub’ of the more crowded, busy, exciting and ‘touristy’ part of the city.
If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, relaxing well loved ‘home’ to stay in which is right in the heart of the city to enjoy while you explore the canals, museums, shops, parks, restaurants and culture of Amsterdam, then this apartment is the perfect choice.

This will include welcoming you to the apartment, showing you around, explaining how everything works, giving you the keys, finalising payment for your stay and also answering any questions you might have or help you might need on booking tickets, travel arrangements, things to do and places to see - any questions, suggestions, advice or help you might need to make the most out of your stay in Amsterdam.
Kate is also available throughout your stay to answer any questions, provide suggestions and to generally be on hand should be need help or advice with anything from finding the right restaurant, renting bikes, buying gifts to take home etc.

Hi! I have been managing this beautiful 'Roets' apartment for 4 years now and absolutely love it. I live locally and so am always on hand if you have any questions or need any suggestions on what to do or where to go, eat or what to see when you are staying in this wonderful and calm oasis in central Amsterdam.
Kate Gordon purchased this apartment in 2010
I love the Plantage area of Central Amsterdam. It's green and leafy, charming, full of restaurants and local cafes. It's very safe and quiet and provides a truly local and authentic experience of Amsterdam.
It's in the old Jewish quarter and is steeped in history. The location is BEAUTIFUL. In the heart of the city and yet away from the tourists and crowds.
This area of Amsterdam is incredibly beautiful. Quiet, relaxed, residential, friendly, safe and full of culture, museums, canals and the Amsterdam University.
Locals sitting outside in the sunshine in cafe terraces, children playing, students at the University and locals going about their daily lives.
This property was amazing. It was far enough away from the touristy places and perfect for our stay. Amsterdam is a super walkable city, and the location was superb. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and would stay there again. Thank you!
Wonderful apartment in a great location! Comfortable bed and furniture and great light in a nicely decorated place. Across the Street from the Univ. of Amsterdam on a quiet area. We were there for 6 weeks and got to know the area well. Close to metro and tram, as well as many very good restaurants. It's in a more residential area so not part of the tourist intense Central area. Easy to walk to the Metro or tram in 5 minutes. Just 3 tram stops to the Concertgebouw or the Rijks museum. Will likely be back to Amsterdam and would stay there again without hesitation. Kate was there to meet us and was extremely helpful throughout our visit and in our departure. We not only would recommend this to any friends (unless they needed handicap accessibility) but have already done so.
My sister and I stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The apartment was exactly as advertised! It was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities that we needed (and more). The location was wonderful. It was far enough away from the extremely busy Centrum but close enough to walk in to the Centrum if we wanted. We walked our entire trip so had no need for the tram but if you did not want to walk the tram was right there. There was plenty to see and do in the local area including museums, the Carre Theater, the Waterlooplein Market, the Artis Zoo etc. There were many great restaurants close by and if you wanted to eat in the apartment, a grocery story was right around the corner. Claudine and Kate and Yury were extremely helpful. We even had help with our bags to get up the narrow stairwell! Having some cold drinks to enjoy in the fridge and having coffee for our use (regular and decaf) was a really nice touch! I would definitely recommend this apartment and if in Amsterdam again would definitely return to the Roet!
My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights and were totally happy with every aspect of the apartment and location. We spent our days exploring the city by foot - so many things to see and do close by. The kitchen is very nicely appointed, the bed comfortable, the shower glorious and it was a real benefit to have a washer and dryer on site. Claudine and Kate make renting this apartment very easy - a delight to deal with! I will be recommending this apartment to friends and family.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was delightful. The apartment is well furnished and convenient to the Trams to get around the city. There are several restaurants around and we liked the Italian restaurant just two doors down. It's across from the University and a short walk to several museums (Hermitage, Jewish, Resistance and a bit further to the Maritime). We contacted Claudine who started us off and once done, we were sent to Kate who manages the property. She was great, meeting us when we arrived and checking us out when we were leaving. She also arranged a car (Jaguar) to the airport The entire visit was exceptional! As noted by several previously, there is a rather steep and narrow stairwell to navigate to the 1st floor (one story above street level) but except for our luggage, this posed no problem and both of us are over 60!. I would recommend this apartment to all.
My husband and I stayed for six nights at this property in Amsterdam; we would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends. The apartment is a spacious one bedroom with comfortable places to sit in the living room, a very well equipped kitchen, very comfortable king size bed and great toilet and washroom. Internet was fast and reliable and it was a pleasure to have a washer-dryer that we could use since we had already been travelling for a week. We really appreciated the detailed handbook that contained instructions on all the appliances! The apartment is very bright and the windows open for fresh air. While the bedroom faces on the street there is very little traffic so no concern about noise. The living room and kitchen look out over various back gardens. Kate, who is the local contact was very flexible - our train was delayed three hours due to the security alert in Belgium that week. We were in touch by email and she was very understanding. Kate also checked us out at the end and arranged a taxi to the airport. We walked everywhere in Amsterdam and it was lovely to come home at the end of the day to our own space, very slightly outside the busy city centre. There is a very convenient grocery store a block away an we actually ate in most nights. Had a great fondue the last evening in the restaurant that is immediately to the left of the front door when facing it. The apartment is on the first floor (second floor to North Americans). The stairs are very steep so anyone with a mobility impairment may not manage these well. With that exception I am confident anyone would be happy here.
In the Plantage Area of Amsterdam - 'the most beautiful and green neighbourhood' - Just a few mins walk to Jewish Museum, Hermitage Museum, Holocaust Museum, Botanical Gardens, Rembrandt House Museum, Amsterdam Music Theatre, Artis Royal Zoo, the Portuguese Synagogue, National Maritime Museum and multiple other museums. Plus 2 mins walk to nearest metro and trams, 2 mins from our local (artsy, small and very cosy) Kryterion Movie Theatre, 2 mins to the local supermarket, 5 mins walk to the lovely green Oosterpark and also the famous Carre theatre house plus multiple, local (and really good quality and good value) local cafes and restaurants...High speed Wi-Fi throughout...English language TV channels...video entry phone... very quiet and safe residential area...bike rental few mins walk... absolutely beautiful and peaceful apartment for your stay in Amsterdam.
