About Felicia Stephens

The owners are proud to share their river and mountain house with others to enjoy a quiet place in the woods. Recently retired from the building and development industry, the owners have decided to share their second for others to enjoy the uniqueness of the location.

Felicia Stephens purchased this house in 2002

Why Felicia Stephens chose

Nestled between Calhoun Creek and the Etowah River literally feet from both is the main reason for building this second home. This uniqueness alone is one to be shared, not kept to ones self. The peaceful setting and remote location, with close proximity to many modern conveniences, make this the perfect get-a-way location.

What makes this house unique

Get away from it all location. The river and creek along with the wildlife in the area provide the most peaceful surrounding to leave the world behind. Come fish in the river, sit on the porch in the swing, talk a hike in the woods or just sit back and enjoy the silence of nature.

Fantastic summer vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to find this hidden gem! My family spent almost a week at this cabin & loved

every minute. It is tucked-away and off of the beaten path, but has so much to offer. The owner

gave us great directions & was very easy to work with. The cabin itself is beautiful, well appointed

& was very clean. The kitchen was clean & had everything that we needed to prepare meals. There

is a Walmart about 15 minutes away, so groceries & necessities were close at hand.

The cabin has covered porches (upstairs & down) which allowed us to relax & enjoy the outdoors,

regardless of the weather. There is also a large screened porch if you want to keep mother nature

at bay. There is a small river on one side of the cabin (perfect for swimming or fishing) and a little

creek on the other side. The kids had fun exploring the creek & then swimming in the river. There

are also plenty of fun things to do if you decide to go into Dahlonega.

We went into town for the Ghost walk (lot's of fun), the Consolidated Gold Mine tour (let the kids pan

for gold...they will love it) & the Appalachian Outfitters Canoe & Kayak trip. We also visited some local

state parks & enjoyed some incredible water falls.

We made plenty of great memories & truly enjoyed our stay. I recommend this property & look forward

to staying again!

Secluded is right!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the secluded mountain home for a sibling reunion. The house is beautiful and the surroundings very peaceful. One of our family members is in a wheelchair. Once she was in the house, she was able to maneuver just fine. Getting in the house was a little challenging for her. She is able to walk some and was able to walk the gravel path up to the lower porch of the house with a walker and assistance. If someone is in a wheelchair and cannot get out of the chair, it would be difficult. Be sure you understand that with a secluded house in the woods, you sacrifice cell phone service and internet service. There is a land line so we were just fine. Not having the distraction a cell phone brings was actually refreshing! There was plenty of room for all 9 of us. We enjoyed our stay. The home is well furnished and is a very pleasing place to spend a few days.

It was a wonderful Father's Day weekend with our family

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. The cabin and surrounding property was beautiful. Our children (adult children) enjoyed floating down the river in kayaks and tubes. There was great trout fishing nearby. The cabin was very spacious and well equipped to make our weekend very enjoyable. The online pictures and description really depicted the true picture of what the property was like. Everyone is already asking to "stay there again next year"!!

A little piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

We had an unbelievable time in Dawsonville and Dahlonega staying at this cabin. It is very secluded and private, yet only 10-15 minutes away from entertainment areas. The views from any room or porch of the cabin are breathtaking, and the cabin itself is extremely nice and has a "homey" feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed staying and hope we will be back soon!

Great place on beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

Fully appointed cabin, comfortable for all. So many great places to play games, eat together, cook together. Surrounded by the Etowah river and a creek. The kids spent the whole time exploring. We went into Dahlonega for the Christmas parade and it was a short drive.
