The owners are proud to share their river and mountain house with others to enjoy a quiet place in the woods. Recently retired from the building and development industry, the owners have decided to share their second for others to enjoy the uniqueness of the location.
Felicia Stephens purchased this house in 2002
Nestled between Calhoun Creek and the Etowah River literally feet from both is the main reason for building this second home. This uniqueness alone is one to be shared, not kept to ones self. The peaceful setting and remote location, with close proximity to many modern conveniences, make this the perfect get-a-way location.
Get away from it all location. The river and creek along with the wildlife in the area provide the most peaceful surrounding to leave the world behind. Come fish in the river, sit on the porch in the swing, talk a hike in the woods or just sit back and enjoy the silence of nature.
We had a wonderful time. The cabin and surrounding property was beautiful. Our children (adult children) enjoyed floating down the river in kayaks and tubes. There was great trout fishing nearby. The cabin was very spacious and well equipped to make our weekend very enjoyable. The online pictures and description really depicted the true picture of what the property was like. Everyone is already asking to "stay there again next year"!!
We had an unbelievable time in Dawsonville and Dahlonega staying at this cabin. It is very secluded and private, yet only 10-15 minutes away from entertainment areas. The views from any room or porch of the cabin are breathtaking, and the cabin itself is extremely nice and has a "homey" feel to it. We thoroughly enjoyed staying and hope we will be back soon!
Fully appointed cabin, comfortable for all. So many great places to play games, eat together, cook together. Surrounded by the Etowah river and a creek. The kids spent the whole time exploring. We went into Dahlonega for the Christmas parade and it was a short drive.
Put this on your "Must Stay Here List!" The home truly feels like a home. The many personal touches were most appreciated. The kitchen has everything you need in the way of utensils, dishes, etc. The creek and river are most enjoyable. The home is extremely clean. We even had rainy weather but still had a great time. Our family is made up of 4 separate families with 2 grandparents, 6 parents and 2 grandchildren. We always send one long weekend a summer together and have gone to many places over the years. This is at the top of our list as one of the very best. A special thanks to the owners who made reservations, coming and going so easy. We had a ball!
The property is absolutely breathtaking! The house has lots of space and is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed our stay and spent most of our time on the screened in porch overlooking the water. We were extremely comfortable and enjoyed our time immensely. We will definitely return. Thank you! :o)
We were a three family group coming from Atlanta and Athens with kids ranging from 9 to 19. It was an easy drive from all locations and amazing to be so tucked back into the road and right on the Etowah- beautiful situated house with all manner of porches- coffee on one over looking the river, dinner on one over looking the stream and a small upstairs one for star gazing. It was a treat to be out of cell service AND still be able to watch The Dogs play on Saturday. Plenty of space for cooking and eating and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. The House was super clean which we really appreciated. Not much hiking done but lots of time fishing and creek walking. The road was good and even though we didn't need to it was a short car ride to anything we might have forgotten to bring. Can't wait til next year.
