Comfortable one-bedroom apartment with bathroom. Living, dining and kitchen in an open design. Recently completely renovated. 620 sq. Ft. With balcony and beautiful view into the valley. The wood fireplace is the focal point in the winter time, but good electrical heat is built in. The ski area is expanding with new slopes in the past years. A new six-seat-high-speed-lift is running now. the walk to the ski lift station is about 4 minutes, 0.2 miles.

Other ski areas are in driving distance. Beech mountain (10 minutes), Appalachian ski (20) minutes.

Ice skating is offered in both sugar mountain and beech mountain. Tubing is available at Sugar Mountain, Jonas Ridge, and Hawk's Nest (Seven Devils).

In the summer time white water is fun and plentiful available in the area. For the adventurous there is the zip-line at Hawk's Nest.

Fall is very pleasing with the beautiful leaves colors. Spring brings the rhododendrons to blossom. It is a great time in Sugar Mountain throughout the year. We hope to welcome you soon. Please note that the unit is for 2 guest. For any additional person staying in the apartment there is a fee of $ 40 per person per night, max 2 additional persons.

About Dirk and Nora Lindenbeck

My wife is the CFO of our family business. We design and manufacture specialty valves for difficult applications. I am a retired engineer since 2008 and as the Chairman of the Board still allowed in the building.......

We are very pleased how the sons are running the business since 2005.

Our daughter is a Doctor of Chiropractic and has her own clinic in Munich Germany since 2012.

Why Dirk and Nora Lindenbeck chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We have an apartment in the same building, one floor up from the rental property. We wanted to have more space because the family is growing. We were 5 and as of April we should be 11. The apartment became available in 2014. We took a year to completely renovate.

We like the location close to the ski lodge and enjoy all 4 seasons since 1987.

What makes this condo unique

A comfortable apartment with an open concept design of Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room. A beautiful view. Avery quiet place with no snow machine noise or air traffic. Good group of people in the home-owners association. 0.2 mile walk to the ski lift station. White water rafting and canoeing close by. Just a fun place to spend time to relax.

We were looking for a nice place close to ski slopes.

Pros:

1.Close to slopes

2.Nice Kitchen.

Cons:

1.This is not a luxury apartment.Mattress was very uncomfortable.We could not sleep well.I told the owner regarding this.

2.We reached sugar mountain late and it was hard to locate the apartment at night.

Owner's Response: The e-mail below I sent to Mr.Subash on 12/27/16. He decided not to answer. I first wanted to have his private answer so that I could better understand his concerns. The only way now is to publish my letter to him. In respect to the location: The Homeaway Map shows clearly where the location of the property is. In addition there is a sign about 40x20" with the name of the street and the number 237 as well as the range of apartment numbers. This sign is easily visible in the car lights. Worst renter we had since we started to rent 12/15. He is not welcome back. Copy: Thank you for your text messages, which I brought over to the e-mails. See below. Thank you for your suggestion in respect to the bed. Sorry that you did not sleep well. The topper for the mattress is a good idea because the existing mattress is already a bit older. But I have a hard time to understand what you mean with the problem with the pillows and the blanket. The smaller pillows (not the red one, which is only for decoration) were bought this year and the big ones cleaned. They all had clean cushion covers. Not sure what you refer to as “blanket”. According to our terminology there are no blankets in the beds, unless you call the colorful day cover a blanket. The day cover is not to be used at night in the bed. There are two comforters, which are inside duvet covers closed with buttons. The comforters were also bought this year. We bought comforters and pillows of the anti-allergic type in case we have guests, who are allergic to natural feathers. There are actually a couple of wool blankets in the closet. They are planned to be used only if it is necessary and the heater does not make the bedroom warm enough, which is really not the case. Those blankets should be put into covers like the comforters. Please describe in more details what bothered you with the comforters and the pillows. Good to know that you liked the kitchen. What I did not like is that you cooked on the range top, let something boil over and let that burn into the range top. It took me over an hour to get that carefully scraped and cleaned up without scratching the glass. Wiping the range clean immediately, when something boils over prevents such problems. The rest of the apartment was in very good order. Thank you. One more point I want to make: When you reserve an apartment in whatever way for two persons then it is for two persons and not for three persons even when the third one is only a small child.

Wonderful!

My husband and I were just in town for a last minute getaway and so fortunate to have found Dirk and Nora's beautiful condo! It's as nice as the pictures depict. Every detail was covered--from explicit directions to a welcome bottle of wine to chocolates to robes and slippers--everything! Communication with Dirk was accessible and he was willing to help in any way. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you could need, and we loved the rain shower head in the bathroom! Thank you, Dirk and Nora, for letting us share your peaceful home. We really enjoyed it and hope to return.

Nice place, very friendly property owner

We stayed in this unit during Christmas 2015. It is very close to the slopes, and conveniently located for all types of activities in the area. Unit is very clean. Kitchen is fully equipped. Property owners are very friendly and they were very kind to follow up with us at every stage of our trip. We had a very good experience, and hoping to be back when there's snow.

Great place to stay

The cabin was great. It was as if you never left home. Has everything you need, the owners were very helpful finding everything. Plenty of room, all of the amenities of a regular home. Would highly recommend this to anyone interested in staying. We were an easy walk to the lodge to get everything ready to ski.
