We are Paul, Sarah, the girls, and baby boy! Our family also includes our pups Allie and Mollie, 5 horses, two cats, 3 ducks and lots of chickens. Our story started in kindergarten and continues today.
We were both born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula. Although we have both travelled and lived in different places we will always consider the Olympic Peninsula our home. We truly believe it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Paul also works as a tugboat captain and runs a speciality saw mill. Sarah works as a wedding and family photographer.
Paul and Sarah purchased this cabin in 2004
Paul purchased the cabin in 2004. From the moment he saw the property he knew there was something special about the land and cabin. He also knew he wanted to make the cabin a place for many to enjoy. He began extensive renovation while keeping the 'cabin' feel.
Going to the cabin is one of our favorite things to do as a family! We love being able to wake up in the morning and have a so many options on how to spend our day. Sometimes just walking out the back door to hike the trails, maybe going to the beach or exploring the numerous parks. Although we love the surrounding area we both agree the best part is deciding where to share our first cup of coffee. Sometime it is sitting in the sunken living room with the wood stove burning, or outside on the porch watching the deer or on the upper deck overlooking the straits.
We feel truly blessed to have the cabin and be able to share it with others!
Gorgeous home on a secluded, beautiful property. So peaceful - we sat outside and stargazed for hours before going to bed. The home is modern enough to not have to feel like you're "roughing it", but with excellent touches that make you feel like you're a part of the nature around you. Sarah and Paul were excellent hosts, and I wouldn't hesitate to spend a week at this home again!
Enjoyed our stay at your well stocked cabin! Did lots of exploring and hiking in the area. Had a fire both nights and used your awesome grill. Beautiful views and great star gazing at night. Will recommend your place to family and friends!
Very quiet retreat. Plenty of room to roam. There are leftover items in the pantry. No need to purchase pancake syrup, olive oil, or cooking spray!
Just like the pictures. We hiked the park as well as the trail behind the house. Nearby Salt Creek was also fun for tide pools and striped peak trail above the water. Don't hesitate.
We enjoyed our stay in your quiet clean cabin. It was a good base location for hiking in the park. Unit was well equipped.
We loved the cabin and setting with the meadow and trees. The cabin itself was warm and inviting and the upstairs bedrooms were cozy for the kids. We had a great time seeing local sights such as Dungeness Spit, Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, Marymere Falls, Salt Creek Recreation Area, and we drove to Rialto Beach. The last day we spent at the cabin and went up the road to access the Olympic Discovery Trail.(The turnoff is on the right into the woods, is becoming overgrown, and not marked by more than a small sign about WA State property, so don't miss it). All in all a good time--we were very happy with our choice of Hiker's Delight.
