Our cabin is nestled in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula. The cabin is surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature along with views of the straits. Just minutes from the Olympic Discovery Trail, with miles and miles of hiking, biking, or equestrian trails practically at your backdoor. It is conveniently located near the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent, and Sol Duc Hot Springs.

The cabin features a comfortable open style with natural lighting from multiple skylights and plenty of windows. A three bedroom, one bath rustic style home with a newly remodeled kitchen and laundry room will leave you well rested and revitalized after your stay. Our down stairs bedroom has a king size bed, dresser and closet, where you will find extra pillows and blankets. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a queen and a great deck to enjoy morning coffee and the morning birds. Both rooms have dressers and closets for those that are having extended stays. The bathroom is located downstairs with tub-shower combo.

We are located only 20 Minutes from Port Angeles, where you can enjoy small town shopping, Saturday Farmers Market, wine tasting at the local wineries or take a day trip on the Coho Ferry to beautiful Victoria B.C. There is also the world famous Lavender Festival in July.

Relax in this rustic yet modern style home with it's cozy atmosphere and very private setting for the ultimate family vacation in the summer or winter.

If you are a mushroom hunter, Chanterelle and Boletus are plentiful in the nearby state forest.

There is a nice fire pit that has night light views of Victoria to sit around and reflect on the days events.

About Paul and Sarah

We are Paul, Sarah, the girls, and baby boy! Our family also includes our pups Allie and Mollie, 5 horses, two cats, 3 ducks and lots of chickens. Our story started in kindergarten and continues today.

We were both born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula. Although we have both travelled and lived in different places we will always consider the Olympic Peninsula our home. We truly believe it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Paul also works as a tugboat captain and runs a speciality saw mill. Sarah works as a wedding and family photographer.

Paul and Sarah purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Paul and Sarah chose Olympic Peninsula

Paul purchased the cabin in 2004. From the moment he saw the property he knew there was something special about the land and cabin. He also knew he wanted to make the cabin a place for many to enjoy. He began extensive renovation while keeping the 'cabin' feel.

What makes this cabin unique

Going to the cabin is one of our favorite things to do as a family! We love being able to wake up in the morning and have a so many options on how to spend our day. Sometimes just walking out the back door to hike the trails, maybe going to the beach or exploring the numerous parks. Although we love the surrounding area we both agree the best part is deciding where to share our first cup of coffee. Sometime it is sitting in the sunken living room with the wood stove burning, or outside on the porch watching the deer or on the upper deck overlooking the straits.

We feel truly blessed to have the cabin and be able to share it with others!

Wonderful house in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We ended up having to drive to the cabin in the dark and the last bit is on a very narrow dirt road with trees close in on either side. Suddenly, though, it opens up into a beautiful clearing high on the hill. The cabin (house, really) has everything you could ever need for your stay plus rustic handmade charm. Roomy, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. The moon was shining on the clearing when we arrived; magical. We heard something very wild off in the distance. Tired as we were, we didn't want to go to bed! Simply everything was great about this place. We did get a message before arriving that the water would have to be turned off at 9 a.m., which was somewhat inconvenient. This was nothing the owner could control; I called him when we arrived. He was very kind and understanding, and we were happy with our communication regarding this problem, which turned out to be no big deal. We wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend the cabin.

Clean and quiet!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 6 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. Of the places we stayed on our trip of the Olympic Peninsula, this was our favorite! The home was very clean and cozy (we made a fire in the woodstove) and the kitchen had everything we needed. The setting is beautiful and Paul & Sarah were great to work with. I highly recommend this property.

Nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a nice stay at the cabin. We enjoyed a fire every night at the fire pit. Appreciated the stocked pantry, bathroom, and laundry room. Secluded, yet close to numerous things to do.

Would stay again if in the area.

Beautiful Home

  • 4 of 5

The home is amazing in a beautiful location. We had a great experience in Washington and the location was ideal for our exploration. Thanks for letting us stay at your home. This was like home away from home. I would not recommend using a low clearance car on the road leading to the home. I think the only problem we had was the shower water pressure is low other than that, it was great. The home is isolated and quiet surrounded by trees. Was a peaceful place to stay at. Thanks again.

Warm, cozy, remote and centrally located

  • 5 of 5

Hiker's delight is a remote cabin on the northern fringe of the Olympic Peninsula with views of Canada. It is centrally located to all of the sites we visited in and near the park. After being in the area, I know we picked the perfect spot as home base! The cabin itself is warm and cozy with a modern kitchen that included everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, we enjoyed making smores on the fire pit, cooking on the grill and just relaxing after a day of hiking and sight seeing. Our family would certainly choose Hiker's Delight again if and when we return to Washington!

Excellent place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time here! My kids had a blast running around the large yard and absolutely loved the fire pit. The owners were great, they let us check in 2 hours early and were very accommodating. The cabin was very comfortable and perfect for a family visit. It was very close to saltwater creek and Hurricane ridge. We would absolutely stay again.
