Hiker's Delight has sold but is still being run as a vacation rental under the name Hiker's Delight Cabin # 962292

Janine and Jon, the new owners can be reached at

559-287-5358

Our cabin is nestled in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula. The cabin is surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature along with views of the straits. Just minutes from the Olympic Discovery Trail, with miles and miles of hiking, biking, or equestrian trails practically at your backdoor. It is conveniently located only 20 minutes from town and only a 10 minute drive to the cutest, well stocked country store.

The cabin features a comfortable open style with natural lighting from multiple skylights and plenty of windows. A three bedroom, one bath rustic style home with a newly remodeled kitchen and laundry room will leave you well rested and revitalize after your stay. Our down stairs bedroom has a king size bed, dresser and closet, where you will find extra pillows and blankets. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a queen and a great deck to enjoy morning coffee and the morning birds. Both rooms have dressers and closets for those that are having extended stays. The spacious bathroom is located downstairs with tub-shower combo and granite counter top.

We are located only 20 minutes from Port Angeles, where you can enjoy small town shopping, Saturday Farmers Market, wine tasting at the local wineries or take a day trip on the Coho Ferry to beautiful Victoria B.C. There is also the world famous Lavender Festival in July. Salmon spawning is a delight to see in fall at the nearby Olympic National Park. If you are a mushroom hunter, Chanterelle and Boletus are plentiful in the nearby state forest.

Relax in this rustic yet modern style home with it's cozy atmosphere and very private setting for the ultimate family vacation in the summer or winter.

About Paul and Sarah

We are Paul, Sarah, the girls, and baby boy! Our family also includes our pups Allie and Mollie, 5 horses, two cats, 3 ducks and lots of chickens. Our story started in kindergarten and continues today.

We were both born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula. Although we have both travelled and lived in different places we will always consider the Olympic Peninsula our home. We truly believe it is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Paul also works as a tugboat captain and runs a speciality saw mill. Sarah works as a wedding and family photographer.

Paul and Sarah purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Paul and Sarah chose Olympic Peninsula

Paul purchased the cabin in 2004. From the moment he saw the property he knew there was something special about the land and cabin. He also knew he wanted to make the cabin a place for many to enjoy. He began extensive renovation while keeping the 'cabin' feel.

What makes this cabin unique

Going to the cabin is one of our favorite things to do as a family! We love being able to wake up in the morning and have a so many options on how to spend our day. Sometimes just walking out the back door to hike the trails, maybe going to the beach or exploring the numerous parks. Although we love the surrounding area we both agree the best part is deciding where to share our first cup of coffee. Sometime it is sitting in the sunken living room with the wood stove burning, or outside on the porch watching the deer or on the upper deck overlooking the straits.

We feel truly blessed to have the cabin and be able to share it with others!

lovely stay!

  • 5 of 5

hey hello! we really enjoyed our stay in paul and susans home, close to the park, cozy and comfortable. we arrived on a terribly stormy night and so appreciated paul 's checking in with us as we drove from tacoma to make sure we had good directions, knew where to buy groceries and his suggestion that we pick up water in case the power went out. it didnt, but the weather was pretty rotten our entire stay - so it was wonderful that the interior space of the house was comfortable and cozy as we were pretty much house bound. we had a fire going the entire time, and loved that there was plenty of wood cut and stacked for us. the kitchen was super well equipped so cooking meals was easy and fun and our bed was spacious, with plenty of warm covers and cotton sheets. everything was super clean, skads of wonderful white towels, and worked well, tho the tv/vcr was antiquated and not worth watching. we didnt mind tho; we played our instruments instead and watched the swaying of the douglas firs just outside the windows! lovely visit. we never even went upstairs except when we first arrived - so much more room than we needed and both the rooms on the second floor had good beds and were nice spaces. so if your numbers are greater than 2 - rest assured that everyone will get a good nights sleep!

thanks for everything paul!

Peaceful and sweet property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Hiker's Delight Cabin and are proud to say we will be continuing to share it with future renters as we become the new owners in November 2017! We found the beds, linens, kitchen tools all to be perfect, so we have purchased them and will do some updating as well. Feel free to give us a call if interested in renting (559)287-5358.

Some of our favorite memories were enjoying the peacefulness and seclusion of the property, feeling the sunshine and breathing the fresh air. We had a lovely hike at Sol Duc Falls and also took a fourteen minute drive to Crescent Bay where we saw a couple logs that looked like a teeter-totter, so we jumped on and looked out over the water- very pleasant! This is a little piece of heaven.

Spectacular Home!

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous home on a secluded, beautiful property. So peaceful - we sat outside and stargazed for hours before going to bed. The home is modern enough to not have to feel like you're "roughing it", but with excellent touches that make you feel like you're a part of the nature around you. Sarah and Paul were excellent hosts, and I wouldn't hesitate to spend a week at this home again!

Awesome retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Very quiet retreat. Plenty of room to roam. There are leftover items in the pantry. No need to purchase pancake syrup, olive oil, or cooking spray!

Cozy

Just like the pictures. We hiked the park as well as the trail behind the house. Nearby Salt Creek was also fun for tide pools and striped peak trail above the water. Don't hesitate.
