A wonderful respite from the City Fog

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely long weekend out of the deep San Francisco fog. We never even left the property, enjoying the pool, the deck and the spacious, well appointed kitchen. All the instructions were clear and Jeff was very responsive and helpful beforehand to make sure we would be comfortable.

We did bring our dog with permission which was great for us. The only drawback was that, since he is furry, he got covered in burrs from the grass. The grassy area immediately around the house and up to the pool was very dry and long-not as it appeared in the photos. This is understandable since it is the height of summer but the flagstone pool deck was difficult to navigate as a result.

Aside from that, it was a nice, comfortable property, was easy to stay in and provided a perfect getaway. Thank you Jeff!

Very relaxing

  • 4 of 5

House was nice, remotely located but near enough to towns or Calistoga/Napa Valley for wine tasting. Had great sun during the day for lounging at the pool. Also nice is that a good chunk of the 8 acres behind the house is fenced, so those visiting with a dog don't need to worry about your pup running off.

Relaxing weekend, great house

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our long weekend here. The beds were comfortable; the house was so well stocked (especially the kitchen!) and clean; and the property is really well maintained. The tip sheet we received before our stay was so helpful and the owner even let us know of events happening in the area the weekend of our stay. We are looking forward to returning. Thanks again, Jeff!

Beautiful Property, Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and clean house. We were blown away by how fully stocked and organized the house was. It wasn't too far of a drive to get to the house, but we felt like we were away from everything! The backyard is great! A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the views. Highly recommended!

Nice Home in the Hill Country

  • 4 of 5

The home is easily accessible with a great view of the hillside. Ranch style layout with 3 large bedrooms with comfortable beds, large comfortable living room, and newly remodeled kitchen that is well-stocked. We enjoyed making our meals there. Nice sized deck with ample seating. Pool while beautiful is unheated so we were unable to use it. Hot tub would have been great. The bathrooms are a bit dated with well water (sulfur odor as are in mineral springs region). The owners were very helpful and welcoming and we felt very relaxed and comfortable in the home.

Perfect Family Week in the Wine Country

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a last week of summer vacation before the back to school crush -- and it was perfect. We are a hectic family configuration: 3 kids (one in a bed, one in a pack n play, and a newborn in a bassinet), a dog, a grandma, and friends -- Jeff discussed all of this with me via email in advance and helped me sort out who should go where, what amenities the house has (everything we needed!), good kid-friendly activities nearby, and even the impact of the drought on the lawn. The house was perfect, the pool a necessity, and the property was a land of enchantment for the kids: they could even look through binoculars to see giraffes down the hill at Safari West, and pitch a tent and camp out one night. Everything was exactly as described if not better, and we would come again in a heart beat. Jeff was really responsive when I emailed with one question about the DVD player. This is an ideal getaway. One note: it's truly a getaway -- not much cell service, and the satellite internet can be a little slower than this city slicker is used to, but those aspects were an advantage in the end: we could unplug and hang out!
