Mooresville Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This lovely Lake Norman home sits on the northern end of the lake and is located 15 minutes from downtown Mooresville, the Lowes Corporate headquarters, Lake Norman Regional Hospital, and most of the major Sprint NASCAR race shops. We are located just a few miles off of I-77 accessible from either exit 36 or 42 in Mooresville, and centrally located between I-40 and I-85. The short drive you make from the interstate to our lake house is one of the most beautiful, peaceful drives in the area, past farmland, through forests, and by beautiful homes.

From the moment you step inside the house you’ll be struck by the gorgeous view of the lake, and you’ll head straight for the deck to soak up even more. Outside, you’ll revel in the privacy of trees and enjoy listening to the birds that frequent the area. You’ll realize you’ve entered a world away from it all!

The main walk-in floor (which is the upstairs) has an open floor plan with a great room/dining area/fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, reading alcove, and 1.5 baths. The great room has a sofa, 2 cozy arm chairs, and tv with dvd. The dining area has a table that seats 4 and a bar that seats 4 more. The upstairs bedroom #1 has a queen size bed, walk in closet, ½ bath, and direct access to the upstairs deck. Upstairs bedroom #2 has a double bed and walk in closet. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans for added comfort. The upstairs baths were designed with retirees in mind and feature comfort-height toilets with grab bar, and a step in shower. The reading alcove located right off the kitchen affords a cozy loveseat surrounded by windows with views of the flower gardens and birds outdoors.

Downstairs you’ll find another great room area with TV, kitchenette with full sized fridge, master bedroom, and 1 bath. The master bedroom features a king sized bed, ceiling fan, walk in closet, and full bath. It has direct access to the downstairs deck.

This home has a two car covered parking area adjoining the entrance, as well as additional parking to accommodate a total of four cars.

There are upper and lower covered decks that overlook the lake and are outfitted with porch swings, rockers, and seating for cuddling up with a good book or for outdoor dining. You’ll also find a grill and an open fire pit, for those great cookouts with the family.

We have installed wireless hi-speed internet service for your convenience.

The private pier has a floating boat slip, jetski dock, and paddle boat. We have deep water at the pier's end, but our beach area is shallow and perfect for swimming with one of the few naturally sandy beaches on the entire lake. Our kids spent many hours on that beach with shovels & pails! There are a variety of life jackets on site, but because we cannot guarantee we’ll have enough jackets of the particular sizes you need, we suggest you bring your own. We do provide an assortment of noodles and water rafts. Boats and jetskis are available for rent at several nearby marinas.

Fine and casual dining is only minutes away, either by car or by boat, or you can call for pizza delivery. Downtown Mooresville, with its down home ice cream parlor and antique shops, is just a quick drive away. Charlotte is just 45 mins to the south, in case you’re in the mood for museums, concerts, or professional sports. Fun day trips could include Carowinds amusement park, the Biltmore House in Asheville, or Grandfather Mountain. In October, enjoy the hot air balloons at the Carolina BalloonFest in nearby Statesville.

Why Jana chose North Carolina

My family has owned this lake lot since I was twelve, so this is very much my 'homeplace'. We started with a single wide mobile home and spent weekends here. In 1998 my husband and I bought the lot from my parents and we later built a home here.

This is our solace, our haven away from the real world. The quiet, the trees, the chirping birds, all carry us away from the stresses of life as soon as we arrive! I dream of my morning coffee time on the porch swing overlooking the lake.

What makes this cottage unique

This is the perfect place to enjoy early morning or after dinner walks. Our house is one of a handful of homes on a privately owned cul de sac at the end of a peninsula on the lake, meaning there is very little traffic to worry about. You can walk your dog, or push a baby stroller, or watch the kids on their bikes on this shady private road.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We absolutely LOVED your home and made sure we respected it as if it was our own and more-some!... You have everything covered when it comes to a rental home for sure!

The two things we missed were - Speed Channel on the tv and microwave dishes. ... Again, thank you for having and maintaining such a lovely home. My parents really appreciated staying in this kind of a setting vs. a motel. The gardens were enjoyed and we walked about the yard several times. We would like to book it again in the fall

A beautiful home and location.

Our family gathered at the house to celebrate our son's first birthday. It was a great spot! We enjoyed the air hockey table and the porch with views of the lake. The walk-in closet worked well as a room with a pack & play for our son! We enjoyed our stay.

Nice lake house on quiet street

  • 4 of 5

Visited the Lake Norman area with 2 friends for our annual Girls' Weekend. This was our first time to the area and found it relaxing, but also with plenty of things to do nearby.

The house is so cute, with a great view of the lake from the back porch. We enjoyed our coffee on the back porch each morning, sitting in rocking chairs and just enjoying the view. House was tastefully decorated and roomy, with a nice kitchen then opens to the living area.

Our only complaint is that we had to clean the towels and sheets before we left, as well as take out the trash. We were not charged a cleaning fee as part of our rental, but we would have happily paid it so as not to have ended our vacation doing chores.

Definitely would recommend this property for both girls' getaway or for a family with kids. We were definitely happy with our weekend at Whispering Pines Lodge.

A great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this property. Swimming, fishing, boating, and lots of smores! The perfect spot for everyone to have fun, but also a spot to relax quietly alone. Porch swing, fire pit and view were all a big hit. It was clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. I would recommend this listing to anyone I knew.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family recently stayed a week in this beautiful home and enjoyed every minute of it. The house was perfect for a family of five. There's a great swimming area for the kids right off of the dock and the views are amazing. The house is close to groceries, restaurants, etc. The owners were very responsive and accommodating and the home was clean and spacious. We hope to be back soon!

Relaxation at its best!

  • 4 of 5

Overall impressed with our stay! Home is very clean and very up-to-date. The only downside I would have is that the boat dock, in general, is in need of some repairs/replacing. The owners are aware of this and were working on getting some repairs done while we were there. The home is nice and secluded and just very relaxing!

The only other thing I would suggest is for the owners to either make sure a good supply of toilet paper and paper towels are on hand, or inform guests that they should bring their own. We ran out of paper towels while staying there and also ran down to the last roll of toilet paper (couldn't find any additional quantities in the house). I don't mind purchasing those myself to bring along, but a heads up would be great.

If you want relaxing and secluded, this is the place for you to spend your vacation on the lake! We would definitely stay at this property again if we return to Lake Norman!
