|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Watch the waves crashing on the sand and rock beach from your living room sofa or while making a sumptuous meal in our fully equipped kitchen; our views are not limited to your lanai and the ocean breezes sooth away your stresses.
Wave riders and surfers perform in front of your eyes. Spouting Whales, Flying fish and spinning dolphins hang in front of this unit entertaining you. Watch para-sailors, cruise ships, fishing vessels, kayakers, and Hawaiian outrigger-canoes sail by. And, of course, there are the renowned Hawaiian sunsets to take your breath away!
Without leaving your lanai, you can watch it all! Enjoy quiet time by the pool, in shade or sun, or sit on the comfy chaise lounge chairs on your oceanfront grass lawn at the edge of the ocean - right outside the gated pool area.
Fill free to use the barbecue area to grill up fresh fish or steaks.
Bordering the Kona Reef on the south, enjoy picnicking in the park or sunning on the sandy beach. This beach area is good for boogie board and surfer entry, or just snorkeling in the shallow corals.
Spend lazy days strolling along the waterfront enjoying the quaint town of Kailua. Take morning coffee in one of a couple of great coffee shops that open early, allowing you to sit outside and watch the ships come into the harbor and people enjoying various water sport activities. Late night live music and dancing is accessible as close as Huggos. No worries - no cares - no need to hassle with driving - the shops and restaurants and even luaus - are all within easy walking distance from our condominium.
If you are into a more active trip, you can keep busy from early morn 'til night, exploring the Kona Coast - hiking, biking, birding, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving, not to mention remote, white sand, green and black sand beaches. You will swim with the fish and the dolphins and delight in the Pacific’s coral gardens where green sea turtles love to sun themselves.
A trip to Volcano and the National park surrounding it, is a once in a lifetime adventure. Hawaii's observatory is one of the world’s finest. A trip around the island, visiting seven falls and Banyon Drive in Hilo, traveling through lush gardens and over the world’s highest mountain, are well worth the ride.
Kona’s Ironman competition begins the three mile swim less than 1 mile from our condo.

Jerry and Radine welcome you to our special 'getaway'. We enjoy Kona and hope to live here full time in the near future, but until that time, we hope you enjoy our home away from home as much as we do!
Radine Coopersmith purchased this condo in 2012
Ocean at our doorstep. Walk to Kona center in 5 minutes.
Jerry loves the weather, beaches and the views from our condo and a lot of Jeeping around the Big Island. Radine is a scuba diving fool and the Kona Coast offers some of the best diving in the world! (including Shore Diving-Just ask her).
I stayed in this property with my husband and two elementary school-aged children. The Kona Reef is one of the best-located condos if you want to be able to walk into town for dinner. The pool is very nice, and there's a little beach next door that's perfect for playing. (Surf was too high for the kids to swim there during our stay.) We also used the barbecues in the pool area, which worked well and I saw being cleaned first thing every morning. Open the door to the lanai and you have a beautiful ocean view and can hear the waves breaking.
The condo itself was well supplied for our stay. The kids slept on a pull-out in the living room. We had enough room, but it was a bit tight in the living room because of my underwater camera gear. A family with teenagers would probably find the bathroom a bit tight too.
We have stayed at the property before and like it enough that we keep coming back. The unit is well-maintained. There are beach items, chairs, beach umbrella, snorkeling gear , etc. A great thing about the location is that you can walk to town for shopping and restaurants. I am always able to contact the owner if I have questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend the property to my friends and relatives.
Pros: Nice location, no problems with booking place, nice view.
Cons: Very dirty condo, not happy at all with the high cleaning fee charged, as it obviously had not been cleaned before our arrival. Air conditioner worked but was extremely dirty and we had cold symptoms (allergies?) while in the condo which disappeared when we left it each day. Dried up wad of chewed gum on table top, hood of stove covered with dirt, garbage in sink, dried food on place mats, black hairs all over the bathroom floor, stained sheets and pillow cases, water in tub very slow to drain, wifi not the best.
This one-bedroom property was well maintained and had a lovely pool and very nice ocean views from the lanai. The people staying at the property were a very fun group of middle aged people - they made the pool area so fun! The property management provided a late afternoon happy hour with wine and snacks at the pool - really enjoyable. The bedroom was small, but comfortable. The sofa bed was also comfortable and we loved listening to the ocean waves through the night. I would stay again, but not with 4 adults. Additional towels and toilet paper would be helpful.
Property owner was very helpful, informative and responsive.
I gave this property 5 stars not because it's on par with a 5 star hotel, but because it was exactly as promised. The unit is exactly as what you see in the picture and it smelled really clean when I walked in. I have stayed at this resort in the past so I was familiar with the amenities and also the reason I returned. The grounds are really well kept and I really took advantage of the BBQs for "grilling up" dinner. My favorite part of the complex is the area in front of the pool that is directly oceanfront. Many evenings were spent watching the sunset from the loungers.
A few things to consider when selecting this unit are - the bedroom window faces the exterior which was much more quiet than the unit I stayed in the past (building B) which faced the interior. Windows that face the interiors/corridors are noisier because the sounds are echoed (not the case with this unit). The sprinklers turn on at 6am every morning and were loud enough to wake me up if I didn't have the windows closed real tight. Bring earplugs if you want to be on the safe side (I'm a pretty sound sleeper). The sofa sleeper is really comfortable. My husband and I would lounge on the sleeper and enjoy the great view and the sounds of the ocean.
I did call the owner a couple of times with questions and he answered every time and was lovely to speak with and he was very helpful.
This property is in a great location and includes everything you would need for your stay! Bathroom towels and beach towels, all dishes, flashlights, books, etc. the balcony furniture overlooking the water is great and we ate there every night. The owner is very responsive and great to deal with. We forgot something in the condo and he mailed it back to us right away! The only thing that wasn't perfect is that the kitchen needs a deep cleaning.
IRONMAN starts at the nearby wharf, whale watching, dolphins play in your 'front yard'. Hawaii cultural sites within a few blocks. Sightseeing (including an active volcano!), & Birding tours start near by.
