Our group loved the stay at this house. It is very cozy and clean. It's also spacious. The property is quite close to the ski area, and easy to find.
The 5 bedrooms were more than enough space for our 6 adults and 5 children. The bedrooms are on separate floors with the kids two bunk rooms downstairs and 2 queens and 1 king upstairs. It was nice to have the kids separate and able to play on the lower level livingroom and bedrooms. But keep this in mind for sleeping arrangements with younger children. I was a little worried with the kids sleeping downstairs alone. The house was stocked with toys perfect for our kids, all under 7. Their eyes lit up when they saw the toys!
The house is in serious need of a deep clean. Pretty much top to bottom needs a scrub. And maybe an all around spray for bugs. We were greeted (indoors) by many grasshoppers, crickets, spiders, and beetles. Mostly on the lower level, so our 4 little boys were in bug heaven...us adults not so much.
The kitchen was stocked amazingly well! You can find anything you need to cook with, which was awesome for our big group.
We were a group of 14, three generations. The house suited us very well for the space and sleeping arrangements. This is the best-equipped kitchen, nothing extra needed, plenty of dishes for our large group. We particularly appreciated the large dining table, and it made a great location for the card games after dinner. We played mini-golf one day and took advantage of the Blackberry Festival held in Shenandoah National Park on Saturday. Some of us hiked a trail to a waterfall. Visitors should be aware, however, that the house is not part of the homeowners' participation in the resort's swimming pool locations. There was plenty to do. The kids especially enjoyed the air hockey. Enjoyed watching the deer that passed through the rear area each night we were there.
We came to the area for a friend's daughters wedding. It was located in the perfect place for us. we were able to be with the family and get to the venue quickly. I would definitely stay in this home again if we came to the area. We enjoyed the comfort of the home and the area was beautiful.
Our group consisted of 3 families. The home was lovely, spacious and perfect for our needs. Although we had a short visit, and did not get to participate in the many nearby activities, we are already making plans to go back for a longer vacation! There is much to do: hiking, kayaking, tubing, zip-lining, go karts, golf and so much more! Although, honestly it was fun just to enjoy the house, the scenery and wildlife. No pets, non smoking which was great for us!
