Lodging and event venue for family reunions, weddings, and other large groups
About Monica Farrier
We discovered this property while searching for a new home in 2013. We love its natural beauty and unique features - the huge event lawn surrounded by trees, the communal spaces, the classic "up north" feel of the lodge - to name just a few! It gives us joy to share the lodge and grounds and hope that you will visit us soon!

Great venue for a corporate getaway
Our group loved the accommodations at the Elvyn Lea. We were able to spread out and get really comfortable during our stay. Can't wait to return
Great for Family Reunion!
We rented the entire lodge for our family reunion (close to 40 people, over 20 were kiddos)! We enjoyed having plenty of bedrooms for when individuals needed private space, and we utilized all the wonderful gathering areas as a group (lobby/dining hall, patio/kitchen, fire pits, etc). The children loved all the space outside, and we used the open grassy area for games of soccer, capture the flag, etc. The hosts were so accommodating and easy to reach, and they made sure we had everything we needed!
We enjoyed hosting your family and seeing everyone having fun. We hope you all returned home with many great memories of your time here together. Thank you for doing such a great job of organizing your reunion, and for taking time to write this thoughtful review.
it was great for our group and we will probably book it again for next year
Perfect fit for our corporate group
We really enjoyed the exclusivity and privacy the Elvyn Lea allowed our group. We were able to spread out and relax at the end of the day without having to worry about taking up too much space or encroaching on other guest. Clean, comfortable rooms with extremely nice mattresses. I highly recommend doing corporate events here and we will be back for sure.
Thank you for choosing our venue, and for writing this review, Marvin. When you booked with us you thought that this would be a great fit for your customers and staff and you were right! It was a pleasure to host your group and see everyone enjoying the property. We look forward to having you all back again soon!
Perfect get-away for a group!
We have been coming to Elvyn Lea Lodge for several years with a group of twenty families. We rent the whole lodge and spend the evenings together in the beautiful lobby playing games.
Our stay is always wonderful. The lodge has been renovated and the rooms give you a little refuge when you want private time.
We usually go in mid October so it is too cold to take advantage of the outside kitchen and patio but it is beautiful!
In short, every year, we enjoy coming to the lodge and we already look forward to next year!
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We look forward to the arrival of your group each fall and hope that you will keep coming back for many years to come!
Great lodging for a wedding weekend!
We booked Elvyn Lea as a place to stay with our friends for our wedding weekend this September, and had a wonderful experience. It was very convenient for our Walloon Lake/Petoskey venues, the rooms are very comfortable, and Monica was very responsive and great to work with throughout our planning process. We had about 30 in our group, but Elvyn Lea can easily accommodate more. They put on a really nice post-wedding brunch for us, and the continental breakfast was delicious as well. We particularly enjoyed hanging out on the outdoor patio area and using the fire pits to make s'mores. Highly recommend this place for any kind of large group, up north getaway!
Thank you, Stephanie, for choosing our property for your special weekend, and for taking time to write this thoughtful review. We enjoyed having you all here and are pleased to know that everyone had a great time. Congratulations and best wishes to you and Mike. We wish you happiness and joy in the years ahead.
We are located just up the hill from the newly revitalized Walloon Village, where there are popular restaurants, quaint shops, and beach access points. Outdoor recreation opportunities abound, including skiing, snowshoeing, boating, kayaking, hiking, swimming and so much more!
