Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

"Kool Jumbey" Vistas (unit 1C at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a top-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction.

Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. The condominium comes with a golf cart. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.

The Caribbean side also features our new 70 foot boat dock, a perfect for platform for jumping/diving, fishing, or of course docking a small boat.

Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.

The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see.

The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean.

The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king.

Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided for riding around the property or to town, less than a mile away. Our groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our infrared outdoor grill.

Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor.

Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has two grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and three small local restaurants, Kel-D’s, Lee’s Café, and the new Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.

Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique luxury resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night) and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop).

Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks and bikes. There is excellent sightseeing, as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had the most amazing stay at Buttonwood. We came down to ELeuthra a group of ladies celebrating our 40th birthdays. We stayed in Sapodilly and Kool Jumbey. Both condos were beautifully decorated, well equipped and very comfortable. The decor was beautiful and tastefully picked out.The views were exquisite and therapeutic. We loved the entire property. The use of golf carts, kayaks, and beach equipment took the experience over the top. We made use of the Atlantic beach, the pool and loved kayaking down to Leo's on the Caribbean side. We bone fished with guide Paul Petty , boogy boarded on the Atlantic visited with the warm locals at the town Fish Fry and made many excursions to visit beaches and towns. We lived our day trip to Harbour Town and the pink sand beaches. The convenience of location was perfect to jump around. Fresh conch was prepared at the docks in James Cistern. And we loved going to the coffee shop Da Perk. Couldn't be more impressed with the hospitality we received from your staff Tia and Patrick were so very accommodating and locals on the island were cheerful and welcoming. We did have a power outage, and some inclement weather and our entire party got a virus we generously passed on to one another. But that did not stop us from having a trip of a lifetime. Thank you to you and the staff for making a most memorable vacation for all of us. Cannot wait to come back! We loved visiting beaches Cocoadimana and Gaulding Cay. We tried to cliff jump but the Carribean was rough. Loved the Glass Window Bridge and Govenors Habour was charming. Everything we need was provided for. Sunshine, surf, fresh air And seafood. It was a perfect trip!

We just got home from a weeks stay in Buttonwood. Our condo was perfect, clean, bright, with a beach feeling and the best views. Our teenage daughters were so happy to have their own room and WIFI... The location was very central, making it easier for day trips, as there is so much to see on the island. I would definitely come back!

Reviewer Comments:

We enjoyed our stay in Eleuthera and the Buttonwood Condo. Our only disappointment was that the Queens Hwy runs through part of the property...we did not realize we would have to cross the hwy to get to the dock. So we did not feel comfortable hanging out on the Caribbean side. So many beautiful beaches to explore tho!!

Owner's Response: It sounds like we need to make this clearer so no one else is confused about it. As noted, the caribbean shore, where the boat dock is located, is separated from the rest of Buttonwood by the Queens Highway. However, the Queens Highway at this location is not a wide rod or a busy road--perhaps one car every couple of minutes--so our guests go back and forth across it all the time in their flip flops. Our big private beach is located at the back of our property. You do NOT have to cross a road to get to our beach. Our beach is connected to the condos by a private golf-carts-only driveway. Each condo comes with a golf cart for each access to both of our shores.

Reviewer Comments:

We loved our stay at Buttonwood! We chose this unit so we would have views of the Caribbean and the Atlantic and were not disappointed. On nights when the Atlantic was roaring in you could hear it from the balcony, and if the Caribbean gets rough you will have battling ocean sounds to relax to. Sunsets were incredible and we had a full moon during our time there that was amazing! Our unit was clean and well equipped with magnificent views of the Caribbean. The wrap around views to the Atlantic side are beautiful, and the golf cart ride is about 10 mins. We snorkeled some on the Caribbean side and found lots of shells. For first timers to the island, just be patient with issues like electricity outages or low water pressure occasionally. We knew this happens on the island so were not bothered at all. If you wait a bit they both come back pretty quick. We had 5 people in our unit so staggered our showers as much as possible and that worked fine for hurry to go anywhere or do anything anyway! Bring your own bug sprays to keep from getting eaten up by no-seeums and buy some apple cidar vinegar to soak in if you do get bit.I brought citronella candles to burn on the balcony in the evening. Sonya was a tremendous help and took care of a few grocery purchases before our arrival. The East and Final Grocery Store is very close by with a pretty good selection of supplies as well as the Leo Rose beachside restaurant which had a great grouper burger. Not far from Governors Harbour and the Buccaneer restaurant which was very good also.Pam's Island Gifts in Gregory Town has lots of local made souveniers, and The Blue Seahorse in Rock Sound as well.We explored a new beach every day and I even stopped using my windshield wiper as a blinker before we left! I was terrified of having to drive on the left side of the road but it was really no big deal after the first day. Many nice people on the island to meet. My only complaint was having to leave!

Very much enjoyed our stay at Buttonwood. Location is central to activities throughout the island. Management was excellent. The condo is clean, has plenty of space and the views are fantastic. The pool was cleaned daily and the access to both beaches was simple.

Map

Buttonwood reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governors Harbour, the main town on the island. Governors Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday night fish fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has a good grocery store, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and two small local restaurants, Kel-d’s and Lee’s cafe. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.

Buttonwood reserve is less than 10 minutes from the boutique luxury resort Sky Beach Club, which has an excellent beachfront restaurant and infinity pool, with swim up cocktail bar and poolside service all day long. Other restaurants in the area include Tippy’s (international and fusion), the Beach House (tapas), the Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks) and Da Perk (cafe and sandwich shop). The restaurants and little resorts have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night.

Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is famous for being safe. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy Buttonwood Reserve and experience all our island has to offer.
